I loved this story, until the last two chapters, especially the last. Just a few chapters ago, you explained away what Elizabeth did to Will, seemingly having the two make their peace with it. Now suddenly their both all filled with betrayal and rage again. Not to mention your portrayal of Elizabeth is completely OOC. Now, quite possibly, you got as pissed as I did over her actions in the second movie, but that's still no reason to go completely amateur when it comes to your writing.
Frankly, I'm very disappointed in these actions. You had a wonderful story on your hands. It was hot, erotic, with a cool storyline. Elizabeth and the inhabitants of Port Royal were out of the way, and never needed to be mentioned again. Heck, you even had Will realizing he'd been in love with Jack the whole time, which would have make his confession to Elizabeth false, which means why should he dare be upset that she chose to marry someone else?! What is it, I can't marry her, so no one else can?! How childish. And he's supposedly the grown-up one. Seems more like Elizabeth was the one with a realistic life view.

You would be better off deleting the last two chapters, and continuing on exploring the rest of the world, like you had said you were going to.

Just thought you should know 1 league equals 3.45 miles. So if the merchant ship was 600 leagues away, that'd make it 2,070 miles away. There's no way they'd see it. maybe you meant it was 2 leagues (7 miles) away? I don't think the visibility is good for even 6 leagues (124.5 miles). Kinda makes your story a bit discredited. But otherwise it's an ok story. I'm more into a stronger Will, but at least you write with a beta reader.
