A mildly happy ending (if that hip does not continue to hurt). Very nice. Especially with all those hints at what happened in the meantime and who might know what.

Sniffle, snort. Glad the sea didn't kill Jack although how Norrington will keep him from reclaiming the Pearl could be a whole story in itself. This was a great fairy tale.

The end? But - that can not be the end? Please?
Poor Jack, somehow everybody wants to arrest him, even when he is a prince.
Please continue! It was so nice speculating: would he really be king, or find a way out, or would independent pirates or the Spanish take the ship on her way to England.
So Jack will probably be declared dead, so that, if he is alive (and I hope he is) he can assume a new name and be a pirate again?
Or will he finally be king after all?
Btw., why would the English parliament agree to place a bastard son from a sideline first in line for the throne? There must be something in it for them. My personal theory about Jack's family has been for quite some time now: he might be a descendent of Cortez, which would explain the compass and the knowledge about the Aztec gold as family heirloom. Cortez was married to an Aztec princess and they had children, or so I've heard. Now if Jack were heir to that couple, he could reasonably claim the Mexican crown. The prospect of adding Mexico to the empire would speak for Jack as king, I'd say. And because this theory has been nagging at me I'm especially curious for your backstory now.
Have I said "Please continue" already?

Something.

No, no thats not all I would put. I must say that after I finished the first story in this series I didn't not intend on continuing. I miss Jack Sparrow. As much as I find your stories interesting and unique, there is something to be said for the good Captain. It's no good that you're not feeling well, and I do hope you feel better. Don't be depressed. Just because no one reviews your stories here doesn't mean that they are not good. I actually read The Pirate and the Yarn Spinner on a Yahoo! Group, and I very much enjoyed it.

Be well.

Sentenced to a lifetime of hard labor... He should refuse, because then you could have him dragged to England in chains. (A sight for the so-inclined.)
Of course, Jack could as well be kidnapped by independent pirates when traveling to England.
That king George appears to be a bit dumb. He should have recalled Jack first, then adopted him, not making Jack or Lawrence targets for pirates and Spaniards (or French, Durch or whomever they were at war with). And not giving Jack the option to refuse and run.
>Point of fact, I abhor slavery and all the trappings thereof.
But what is breaking a person so that they will be of good service if not slavery? And that he did to Gillette.
By the way, will you tell us who gave Jack his slave-brand? I'm really curious to learn more of the backstory.

My humblest apolories ...bows with hands together. ..I didn't find any postings after chapter 5 (I think it was) and thought you had abandoned the story. I've had that happen to me so often, it's a discouraging thing.
I like the way you're slowly bringing everybody around and have a good rational for Jack's behavior.
I can just see the gold teeth in a box.
Don't know about making our boy the King of anything, but you've done nicely with the changes so far so I trust you.
It was a wise decision on the King's part to try to send a messanger Jack won't murder as soon as he hears the messsage. Maybe.

Sorry to hear of your medical difficulty. I've read your work at The Black Pearl Sails and know you have friends there who are thinking of you. I'll keep you in my prayers.
