Latin Lady> If you want to be technical its more of a chronological error. Sort of both. Within the temple of Vesta resided the sacred items that Aeneas took with him from Troy. So for Briseis to have become an actual Vestal she would have had to have fled with them.
But to be perfectly honest this isnt a historically accurate story, nor even a mythologically accurate one. Its just a story. Not even an original one at that. I chose the term "vestal" because not many peoplelly lly associate it with Vesta. It's more a loosely used term for virgin priestesses. Also in the days of old the priestesses often served several gods (well really they served all the gods as Briseis mentioned in the movie). It was not uncommon for a maiden to be beholden to several gods at once. Cassandra herself was torn between Apollo Sunlord and Pallas Athene, who both set their mark on her.
But anyway your point is taken and appreciated. Astute of you to pick it up :)

What a wonderfully written tale! I don't usually enjoy het stories so much but you certainly have a gift of drawing the reader into the tale, making them care for the character of Briseis. Please don't give up because you feel people aren't enjoying this - they are! They're just a little shy :) I can't wait to read more.

Yet another very good chapter :D I look forward to the next one. I enjoy Briseis' reactions in this fic, it feels very true to her character.

you just made a geographical boo-boo it would be impolsible for briseis to be a vestal virgin because the temple of vesta is 1) in Rome not troy and 2) not even built yet but its ok i made the same mistake at first

Please, writw more! I've been waiting ages for the next few chapters. This is a really good story, but when I saw you said you'd stop posting because of low hits, I panicked. I beg you, please write more to this story. I saw Troy, and it's amazing to find someone so true to the story without making it trashy. You're a great author, and maybe I'll post one of my own stories, and I hope you'll read it.
