This was an absolutely beautiful piece. It's so difficult to find an author who's even read the Iliad, let alone someone who is able to portray the relationship between Achilles and Patroclus so meaningfully. loL if you're wondering why I'm so amazed, it's because this is really the first story I've found of this caliber, and I've been searching ever since I wrote an Achilles/Patroclus story a few years ago. I was only 16 at the time so maybe I hadn't been searching the right places... It's not nearly as nice as your style, but if you're interested it's here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2104194/1/Wait_for_Me
Anyway, major kudos to you and I definitely hope to see more of your writing.

As a Classical Civilization major, I have to say, rock on!! Yay for including the lyre playing scene. Definatley one of my favorite moments of the Iliad. And Thersites. Damn the ugly man. He's great for putting in just to piss people off. ^_^ Keep up the awesome work!!

Wow. This story is great. I always find it rather amusing that the writers who willingly accept criticism are the ones who least need to be criticized.
This is a very well written fic and although it may slightly confuse those who are only familiar with the movie instead of the legend, the narration is building the story most captivatingly. It sounds pretty harsh at times but therein lies its charm, and whatever tragic poetic there is, is reserved for the brilliant characterizations.
This story depicts great drama and vivid emotions, passion being one of the most visible ones, along with a sense of sadness not quite describable in too few words.
If this is what you give us with your first published story, I can only wonder how great the others will hopefully be.
