Well, finally getting a chance to read this chapter. It was very good! I especially liked the conversation with Anakin in Luke's mental sanctuary. It was a great mix of heartbreak, endearment, love, amusement and healing. Loved Anakin 'You butt out, old man' to Obi-Wan. Also loved 'Excuse me? You do recall who you're talking to, don't you?' And it was very heartbreaking to have Luke ask to go with his father. Having just lost my father, you had me misty eyed there.
The interaction with Leia and Luke was just lovely. I loved the first line Luke says when he wakes up - "Who says you're older?" I like how you're not letting Luke have a miraculous recovery - it lends a more realistic feeling to the whole scene. His drawing back from the little touches Leia gives him - and Leia pretending not to notice ... little heartbreaks on a long road to recovery.
Very nice - looking forward to the next chapter and where you're taking us next.

wow, loved Anakin's appearence. Really good characterisation. Most people, when they write redeemed Anakin, make him soft as anything, but you did a great job making him post-Vader. And I loved the way Luke was reacted to him. Just great!
And, LOL, yes I did write About Turn, I'm shocked you recognised that from just a name. But there's no need to worship me... too much... ;)

Yes, another chapter! Woohoo!
Something tells me that Leia doesn't know how right she is--Luke's been through hell and back. Poor guy... His actions and reactions are right on the money, too. I also liked the scene with Anakin, especially where he tells Obi-wan to butt out. That was superb!
So, Viktor was active for twenty years as a serial killer? No wonder he thought he'd be able to get away with it. It makes me wonder how many other brushes with the law he's had that he was able to weasel out of--that would definitely contribute to his arrogance. I also wonder what he did with the bodies of his previous victims, and if that datapad's the only 'trophy' he had... hmm... okay, maybe I really need to stop reading John Douglas and Harold Schechter now.
Very well done, and I can't wait for more!

Yea!!! An Update!!! What a wonderful birthday present to me!! Thank you!! I am so glad that Luke took his father's advice and came back to the world of the living. I know it will be hard, but with the love of his family, Mara and friends he can make it through this. That is sweet that Anakin is the one who returned. I like how you wrote in Luke's embarrassment on his rape and torture and his inability to face his old Mentors. That seems realistic. I am glad that Anakin is starting to make up for his past as the ultimate deadbeat Dad. I am glad that Leia was there to greet Luke. I know this is a Luke/Mara romance, but I think people have a tendency to forget how close Luke and Leia are. I mean they were comrades during a war and trusted each other with their lives even before they discovered they were siblings. If they weren't siblings I am pretty sure they would have been married eventually (sorry Han). Mara is not going to be happy about being kept out of the room. I know that is Luke's wishes, but I think when Leia tells Mara that Luke is awake and doesn't want visitors there is going to be a lightsaber fight in the hallway outside Luke's room. Hopefully Mara will understand and respect Luke's wishes.... for a short time. We do want to get back to bootknocking soon!!! I am going on vacation for a week--meaning life in a cabin with no cable and no computer. I really, really hope that when I come back to civilization there will be a new update.... please. Keep up the great work!!

An update!
I'm so happy to be reading this fic again. And I'm so happy that Luke has finally woken up.
It was very saddening though that Luke didn't want to see Mara. He has to see that Mara would want to be with him, and would never be disgusted my him.
I agree with Leia, it's going to be a while before Luke can start healing but he can take whatever time he needs. We're all there with him!

Oh, man. Poor Luke. Poor Mara and Leia, finding him like that. And poor Viktor- wait. Who the hell am I kidding? Huzzah! Ding dong the bastard's dead! I have to applaud that you managed to appease the people who wanted Mara to get a piece of Viktor and the people who wanted Luke to have revenge. I wish I could say that I'm happy for Luke (because, honestly, Viktor deserved it), but I hate that he had to sacrifice so much to kill him. If you ask me, I think you chose the right way- Luke being the one to kill Viktor, I mean. I don't presume that it'll be a pleasant experience for Luke to come to terms with what he's done or repent, but c'mon now. It's Luke. He's like a blonde superman without a cape. Sort of. Not really. But you get the idea. He'll pull through. With Mara and Leia there, how could he not? Even if they have to get thrown across the room a couple of times (which was, by the way, SUCH a badass display of Luke's power), I'm still looking forward to watching them help Luke heal. Oh! And Luke's reaction to the return of the Force? That was nifty.
Many good vibes,
Cherry!

Oh yeah, Luke is saved!!!! It is about time!!! Hey, it may have been Darkside to crush the life out of Berdin with the Force but it needed to be done. I am glad that bastard is dead. Now they just have to heal Luke's mental torment. I know that Leia and Mara can draw him back to the light. Then Mara and Luke can get back to bootknocking!!! WONDERFUL STORY and I cannot wait until the next chapter. Did you hear me!! I can't wait!!! Get writing!!! Remember, I know where you live!!! LOL.

OMG poor lukie. He just can not go to the dark side, that would be aweful. Well he has his Mara. Please let his friends & loved ones be good enough to help him recover.
