Hi!
Very interesting AU,and nicely written! There is just one problem: I do not believe that it is possible for Sibylla to marry another man while Guy was only banished, not killed; the marriage would have to be anulled first, and this was only possible on grounds of too close blood relations. So, they would have needed a dispens of the pope to annul the mariage of Guy and Sibylla.if they wanted to marry Sibylla to Balian without killing Guy. On the other hand, Guys whole little planhe told Sibylla in your second chapter wold be enough to have him executed, anyway. So it would have worked better if he died, or if he was believed dead (maybe he could survive the hanging; some people did). Or you could indeed have them get a dispens by the pope on case of too close blood relatins between Sibylla and Guy, so the new marriage to Balian would have been aproved of by the church; then this would work, too. For this, thy needed only to be cousins in the fourth degee or something; in the Middle Ages, most of the high nobility was incredily close related to each other anyway, siince there were so few of them. :-)
Otherwise, this is a great idea and a very well written AU. Thank you for this imaginative tale!
