Yay! Rick/Ardeth bonding. *happy-dance* Not really that much to comment on in this one, but a beautiful moment between two vulnerable men none the less. I can't wait to see how Ardeth will handle the medjai-counsel's insitence on marriage. If you're planning on adding it that is..

Woohoo, bye bye Alex and Jonathan, hello Rick and Ardeth alone together! I can see the smut on the horizon. Great job.

Oh, they're all alone in the desert.. I sense romance moving our way.
Who/what are the Nile's fiercest warriors, and who are the people/creatures who slay them?
It seems Rick is starting to accept his wife's demise. Like he's hardening himself for the possibility that he may have to place a bullet in her.
Actually I'm not to much against Jonathan and Alex. In the movies Alex would probably have found some way to sneak off the boat and Jonathan would have had to follow - trouble following close behind. At least in a medjai-tribe Alex should have many things to explore with his unending curiousity. And Jonathan will probably get himself in trouble with his pick-pocketing and wandering eyes - medjai-women beware. If Nefertiri doesn't kill them the medjais might..

Alex and Jonathan as they are. Thinking that it's still worth going unsupervised even if it brings out mummies, the Scorpion King and Anubis' army.. That's just Alex. And Jonathan's light-fingered habits becomes useful once again. And the whole laid-back attitude he has (when he's not screaming and running from mummies etc.)

I like your story. I specifically appreciate it that although Rick has began to see Ardeth in a different way, he hasn't forgotten or abandoned Evy and still wants to rescue her, nor is he indifferent about what's happened to her. After all they've been through that would be totally unbelievable and also completely out of character, regardless of whether he's falling out of love with Evy or not, and in love/lust someone else.

I find myself also very curious about Nefertiri - is there anything of Evy left in her? How does she feel about the woman who's body she is now inhabiting? Or Rick and Alex? Hate them? Indifferent? This is just a suggestion, take it or leave it as you see fit, but I'd love to see her POV in a future chapter; I feel it would nicely round out and balance the story.

I'm very much looking forward to future chapters.

Good. Prophetic dreams; at one point he might have to choose who to save? Just asking..
Suggesting that they wait until Nefertiri find all the keys, is a classic Jonathan moment "Just a suggestion."
And Rick finally learns that he shouldn't leave Jon and Alex alone. Those who say "The Mummy Returns" know how well that went: Dobble-decker bus. Among other things..
Rick reacts in usual laid back attitude finding out about Benny.
They're out trying to save Evy but Jonathan still finds time to examine treasures; another classic Jonathan act. Liked how Ardeth answered the question without having heard it. Putting away treasures or facing the wrath of a ready to kill Medjai.. One would have thought they'd learned not to touch anything in Egyptian tombs by now.
Ardeth containing from wringing Jonathan's neck; apparently even the Medjai's patience has to run out at some point. But it probably wasn't a good idea to leave Jonathan and Alex alone again..
