I can't actually know if this'll reach you, since it's been years since this story has been updated. But I read this a while back, and just reread it, and was reminded how much I liked it. You got the feel of Jarhead down, the characters are good, and the story's hot. I love this story, and I'd be ridiculously happy to see an update of any kind, but even if that's not possible, I wanted to say good job. Seriously.

And this one is even more interesting! I'm dazzled at how cleverly you've worked your story into the original movie. You must have had to watch the movie a lot of times to do that. The sacrifices we make for art, huh? :-)

*sighs dramatically* I loved it to fuck. I never got a chance to see the movie but I read the book. It was really good, best book i've read in ages. From reading this, I can safely say you have mastered "feel" of Jarhead. I actually thought I was reading a continuation of Swofford's book.
