I love this story... great scenes of emotion like when Jack ties the wedding ring in his hair to wonderful humor. Jack actually trying to ride the sea turtle was priceless.

I can't wait to see what happens.

Captivating, amusing and believable. You seem to have really connected with the characters,
and I can almost see this being one of the movies. Can't wait for the next chapter!

This is the BEST Pirates' fic that I have ever read...bar none. And I've read A LOT of Pirates' fics; so, I have quite a number of fics to compare this one to. I'm afraid that I have become obsessed with the Jack/Lizzie pairing. This obsession started when I saw the first movie, and it only intensified after I saw the 2nd film. Anyway, back to your fic. You have an excellent grasp of grammar, and you keep the characters in character. But, my favorite aspect of your fic is the fact that you've killed off all the other males that Lizzie could depend on, and this forces her to rely on Jack. Additionally, I LOVE how you create a marriage of convenience of sorts for Jack/Lizzie. That is the unique plot thread that hooked me and set your fic apart from the pack. And of course, the reader knows the two will eventually admit their love for one another by fic's end. I had many favorite scenes in this story, but a few warrant mention in this review. The first of these is the bath scene. That scene was (if you'll forgive the pun) steamy. It was also quite amusing with Lizzie attempting to hide her attraction to Jack and refusing to wash certain areas of his body. All the while, Jack sees the truth, and he can't resist teasing her. The moment when the two take their vows is also unique. I enjoyed listening to Jack recite the Shakespeare sonnet. The consummation of their union was well written and in character. Jack would be patient and gentle with Lizzie, and I could see her being nervous and insecure because of Jack's reputation with women. I enjoyed their subsequent love scenes especially the "lesson" at the Pearl's helm and Lizzie's "trick" while Jack is again shackled to the mast (snicker). There were also 3 standout emotional moments in the fic. The first of these is Jack comforting Lizzie after her nightmare by making love to her to reassure her he isn't going anywhere, and then, singing her to sleep with the lullaby. I thought the latter moment was a tad out of character for Jack, but it was so sweet that I bought into it in spite of myself. The other 2 scenes that I mentioned were on the 2nd "bloody little island" that you stranded them on. I LOVE the delightful exchange between the two as they try not to admit their love for one another, and then, they finally succumb to those feelings. My favorite moment in the fic (so far) happens when Jack says "I'm not having fun any more" (chuckle). I LOVE when Jack turns into a pouting petulant child; He's at his most adorable then, and you don't know whether to hug or throttle him. And my final favorite moment is the scene where Jack tells Lizzie to "hold onto to [him] and let everything else go". That last scene was the best from a literary standpoint, but it takes 2nd place to the pouting one in my humble opinion. As I said, I LOVE this fic, and I'm waiting with baited breath to see it updated (or better yet finished). After all, Chase must be eliminated somehow, and Jack/Lizzie must live happily ever after.
