Once again, another excellent chapter, jemstone. Kal is really working it with Aubrey, and I like that side of him instead of when he was trying to take El from Ver'On and M'Pa. He can be a real sweetie when he wants to be. And Sam is so adorable, and he definitely has a lot of trust and faith in the "Spirit Walker". I just wonder what he would do if he actually SAW Kal. Looking forward to reading more. ^_^

Nice. It's always a pleasure reading another chapter in this magnificent story. I laughed at the hinting of people hearing a dog growling from time to time when we all know who that is. I look forward to seeing how things work out for Kal, and then of course, going back to El and seeing things through with her.
Great job as always jemstone, and I will eagerly be anticipating more. :)

Great Chapter. Do I sense that Ver'On knows Kal's Aubrey? That will make life interesting once Kal gets her back to the ship.

Very nice chapter, you really succeeded well in showing the stark contrast between Aubrey's former happy life and the hell she currently is going through. I'm very curious to see the state of her room now as young Sam seemed to hint at it not being so great, and Kal seemed stunned at what he first saw as well.
As always, can't wait to read more. :)

Such troubled times seem to bring up fonder, better memories. Aubrey really deserves something better than the life she has now. Hopefully, Kal will be able to provide that for her and Sam. ;) Very good chapter, and looking forward to more.

There have been few stories that I have read in my lifetime that have had me hooked to the point where I lose an entire night's worth of sleep just reading them. Your "River" series Jemstone, is truly one of the best works of fiction that I've ever had the pleasure of reading.
And I am always heartened to see a talented writer not give up on their work as some others unfortunately have, and each chapter you continue to write only leaves me wanting more. Keep up the fine work!
