That was horrifying, but it was meant to be, so good job. I did wonder, watching the movie, why the ship never went for DJ. But then, as you said, the movie had its silly inconsistencies. I liked it anyway, and I'm happy to see an "Event Horizon" fic and particularly a DJ fic as, aside from Smith, he's my favourite character.
The only nitpick I have, and it's a tiny one, is that autopsies are performed only on dead bodies (to determine cause of death), so while DJ does seem to have a surgical scar (unless it was just bad make-up concealing the blood pack, but I prefer to think not), it would not be an autopsy scar.
