Don't worry, I'm not going to flame you for grammar. I still understood it well, and I enjoyed reading it. I can actually sympathize, because I also know German and I have translated both a 13,000-word and a 3,000-word "Dark Crystal" fanfic from German to English. I think I did a pretty good job, and the original author was happy with my work. He really liked seeing his stories written in English. There were only a few parts that didn't translate well from German to English, so I had to ask the original author what he meant by those passages so I could translate it better. It was fun, I enjoyed doing it.
I hope that you continue this story. It sounds pretty good so far. :)
