I think you chose a good age for Sonak, really. Considering trama as a youth and all, having him more interested in horror stories, and more likely to have nightmares makes sense. Never realized how much I'd enjoy a "K/S family" story so much! Quite lovingly done!

I liked this quite a bit. yes, it was sentimental, but it fit the characters. I would like to hear more of this family. It worked.

Firstly, I need you to know that this is going onto my Big Gay Spork Recs List, because it's that awesome. Secondly, the cuteness killed. Thirdly, Scrubs!Bones was a marvelous plus that I did not anticipate, but will gladly lick up with a spoon.
It was a perfect balance of nostalgic schmoop and sincerity as the devices used were well executed and strangely warm in their familiarity. I found the balance you sought to make between Vulcan and Human norms achingly right, down to the relentlessly matter of fact observations regarding abnormally colored waffles. Not to mention the marvelous similarities that cross species' lines: kids will always cock-block you now and again(and again and again, but you should never concede to a no-win scenario!!), to the Matel-fueled nightmare of little-girl costumes, to the simple comfort of seeking out your parents when even the soft groans of a house sound like a monster prowling across the floorboards.
You handled Jim's anxiety perfectly; the scenes were infused with a delicate disquiet, enough to bother you, make you look twice and remember all of those cautionary tales, but not an overly contrived attempt at horror without committing oneself to a terrorfest. What really got me was the pervading sense of unease I received from it. Nicely done.
The sex scene was very enjoyable, though it felt a touch.....quick? That may be a result of their previously interrupted encounters, though. I was too wound up! XD Kirk taunting Spock in Vulcan? Delicious and quite believable. I'm fond of the interpretation of XI's Jim as a spectacular blend of irreverent charm and perceptive, empathetic brilliance.
Mmmmm Mmmmm, Good.

I loved it. I also loved Sonak, I found his doing a hands on study of Halloween funny. And so cute the girls seem to have a crush on him.
