This is a great start you have going here. What I really like is the detailed gritty realism of the exposition of the scene and how you are putting major emphasis on the brutal realities of space travel and how fragile everything really is up there. Add in a touch of humor (lol, ship named after not one but TWO ex-wives) and a very interesting setup (not to mention a character who is so far acting in a believable manner) and this is definitely a story I'm going to look out for.
