Hey, if you're comp is having issues, after you type out something email it to yourself. That way you have it in your inbox, and from there you'd have to be pretty talented to delet it w/o meaning to. I would be v upset if you stopped writing this story :( Please continue!!!

oh yeah, we've had days like that. working on chap. 5 the computer our uncle gave us died, taking everything to a blank grave. and then the disk i had saved stuff on didn't show anything in english! just little squares and funky "y"s so good luck with next chap. and keep it coming!!

Don't worry about it we can wait for the next chapter..hate when my computer distroys stuff like that. My old computer deleted THREE CHAPTERS! THREE! *rants about fucking computer* Anyway don't worry about it too much we all have bad days ^_^

Smack the computer. Or for actual damage, a wall. Or for no damage the wall with a pillow.
Anyway, Will was/is a blacksmith (even if he doesn't look it). In that is daily pounding of iron. If Barbossa ever gets too mean/abusive etc. Will is capable of inflicting grevious bodily harm before they can overcome him. Once he gets over his pesky "word of honor" silliness.

Awww .. I'm so sorry to hear you lost the story - it's so hard to recollect stuff after that point. I know I would be pissed out of my mind! I've ruined comics that I work on by slopping stuff on them (not quite the same thing) but you feel just as awful.
Your story is superb - the latest chapter was hilarious! I loved that bit with Jack and the soup. Nice to see humour being sprinkled in - things are getting a bit intense between Turner and Barbossa (even for me!) Fantastic stuff! Best story on the net :)

I feel so bad for you. I suggest two things. Run your antivirus scan at once. Save everything to a floppy and take it out of the computer when you get off - put it in a safe place. How awful for you (and us). I bet you 'll be able to rewrite it even faster, now that you know where you're going with it. I can sympathize. Something similar happened to me once.

OMG how horrible! That's terrible! Good luck with the rewrite. ^^ I would suggest that you save everything on to a disk from now on. Also check your temp files, the deleted file might be there. There is a way to recover this stuff. If not, disks are your best friend. *hugs* So sorry!

My computer quite freqnently mucks up my work, but I can normally find it else wear. Have you tried your rycling bin? maybe you should keep your next chapter on disc, and write over it once posted, that way you should be able to keep down to only the one disk....? Anyways, I hope your able to recreate your chapter, as I'm greatly looking forward to its angsty theme, well done to you.... If it takes a while, no worries, the worst that could happen is my head disconecting it's self from my body....
