Ghost Ship: Fallen

It Starts.

The rain faintly dropped down onto the pavement, cluttering the streets of puddles and muddy areas, as the street lights cascaded down upon the water, making a slight sparkle in the dim lighting. The night air so crisp and cool, it almost sent chills down her spine.

Maureen Epps reached out two pale slender hands, pushing down the raised window, as she heard a satisfied click of the automatic window lock, and stalked back over to the sofa. Her heart sank everytime she would sit down, the ever growing memories would still be inside of her whenever she'd turn to look at the photograph on the table. How happy they had all seemed, the only one who wasn't in the picture was Murphy, he decided he'd take the picture that day. It was a nice spring day... cool, and breezy, and they had all set out for their next salvage.

But now, it rained. And rained, and rained. It had rained for days and days on end. Wiping her eyes of the transparent tears, the chocolate brunette laid back on the sofa, still hearing the cries of those who were on the Antonia Graza in her mind. Placing a hand to her temple, Epps winced, as she shut her eyes, the tears leaking through.

"Oh God..." she sobbed, knowing she'd never get them back. Never get the times they had had back, never get their laughter, or the smell of Greer's cigars back, or Hell, even the smell of Munder from being so greasy.

Leaning to the side, pulling her legs up onto the couch, she laid there, adjusting the pillow, as a clap of thunder was heard outside. The rain kept coming down, she had wondered if perhaps Heaven was angry... but that was silly. She had never believed in such things...so why was she now?

It seemed as if there was just too many things to worry about now, owning the Arctic Warrior salvaging company, holding the weight on her shoulders and worse...on her soul.

"Is this how it ends?" she whispered out loud, still wiping away the tears.
