AN: I have another story in mind, I’m sorry! I know should finish ‘In Your Eyes’, but I really want to write this too!!!!!!
I will finish them, I promise!
But for now, please enjoy this… PS: When I was writing this I found that my typing didn’t flow very well… I had a lot of trouble, but I still want to continue with it… as frustrating as it may be :)
What Their Made Of
Ever since the crew of the Nebuchadnezzar had been cornered in the ‘Heart of The City Hotel’ it was decided that it was no longer suitable for the release of coppertops. Now they used an abandoned warehouse which stood in the bad end of town.
A group of rebels dressed in black entered the shady building near dusk. There was only one person who stood out from them. A kid wearing dusty jeans and an ‘Iron Maiden’ T-shirt was walking in their line, third from the front and second from the back.
The captain was at the front, leading the way. Her name was Captain Ryann. It had taken her a long time to become the captain of her own ship, the Samirah, but through her loyal devotion to Zion and the Rebel cause she had become one of the most trusted captains in the fleet, other than Morpheus.
Once inside the line began to disperse. A girl at the back of the line moved across the poorly lit, warehouse lobby and entered another room alone. The rest of the line continued forward to where three chairs sat. Ryann turned around once she was standing in front of the chair and indicated the chair across from her to the boy in the T-shirt. He sat nervously looking about with curiosity and fear.
‘My name is Ryann, and this,’ she said indicating the man sitting to her right ‘is Tech.
You have been searching for us for a very long time while, concurrently, we have been searching for you as well.’
He seemed frightened sitting there in a worn out chair. She remembered being like that, still plugged in and unsure about anything.
‘So, Keegan, I’m going to tell you the truth.’ Ryann said picking up a silver box from the table.
‘All your life you have felt that the world was wrong. You have been searching for the answer as to why it feels this way.’ She seemed deep in thought for a moment before saying, ‘Everyone you knew saw you as different and because of that difference they made you the outcast, Keegan, they made you feel as though what you were thinking was wrong. Let me tell you something, Keegan, you couldn’t have been more right.’
A smile spread across the boy’s face. He didn’t look as afraid anymore and his back had straightened as he had listened to her words.
She opened up the box and silently turned it towards him.
‘You’re going to have to make a choice, Keegan, and I am not going to lie to you. You take the red pill and you will know the truth, but I’m not making any promises, the truth is simply what it is, whether you like it or not.’ Her hand moved forward and placed the red pill silently on a wooden table which sat between them.
‘Take the blue pill,’ she placed it on the table as well, ‘and you will wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. Once again, I’m not making any promises as to whether you will be satisfied. It is your choice to make, and only you will know which is best.’
The boy eyed the pills suspiciously and reached toward the red pill. He evidently wanted to know.
He took it and drank the tall glass of water which had also been sitting on the table. Keegan placed the water back on the stand and looked at Ryann expectantly. She smiled and stood walking towards the door which the other woman had taken.
‘Come with me.’ She whispered holding the door open for him. He stood up and walked quietly into the other room. Tech stayed behind to watch for any suspicious activities.
‘Please, sit.’ Ryann said standing behind a grossly deteriorated chair. It looked more like a torture device than anything else.
It wasn’t long before the unplugging process began. The usual clicking and dialing sounds rang out from the makeshift equipment they had built in the cold, damp warehouse.
Suddenly the door flew open with Tech standing at the door.
‘We have Agents!’ he yelled turning back and pulling out his Uzi.
Bullets ripped across the wall eventually reaching Tech, whose body fell hitting the floor with a loud thump. Dirt flew into the air. Ryan checked on Keegan before flinging herself into the darkest corner of the room, he was out. She pulled forth a hand gun and signaled to the other girl, who was named Tap, to go through the other door. Tap did so, leaving Ryann to her own devises.
Suddenly a black shoe made itself evident through the dust which hung in the air. That shoe was connected to a black suit and she knew exactly what that meant. Ryann willed herself to stay still, crouched in the shadows.
The Agent walked in silently scanning the room behind his dark glasses.
Her nervousness peaked as he walked closer to her position. He must not have seen her because he kept on walking. She was sweating and every part of her felt like it was going to give out.
He looked through the door where Tap had run through. One of his eyebrows was raised.
With as much energy she could muster, Ryann pushed herself out of the corner and through the ripped up doorway. He hadn’t been watching, but he heard her. With Agent reflexes he turned and began firing.
She was short, he was tall, she was Human, and he was an Agent. His legs gained more distance than hers could and his being an Agent gave him enough energy to out run her any day, but she still persisted. Ryann rounded a corner with him right on her tail.
Her cell phone started ringing and she reached to get it. The action slowed her down slightly and the Agent caught her arm roughly, throwing her to the ground and sending her cell phone across the room.
She landed roughly on her back. He came down on top of her and pushed her hands down above her head. His body was crushing her own and the more she struggled the rougher he became. He leant down on top of her and put his gun to her head. Ryann felt the last of her courage fade as the gun was pushed against her temple. She stopped struggling and closed her eyes.
‘Captain Ryann.’ He whispered causing pins and needles to run up her spine.
‘And you are?’ she asked breathlessly.
‘I am Agent Jones.’ He didn’t appear out of air, not a hair was out of place on his head either.
There was a long silence where nothing happened, his gun was still placed against her head and he held the same nonchalant expression.
‘Aren’t you going to kill me yet?’ she asked mockingly as she pushed against him. He used his hips to force her back down and placed his gun back into his suit. Her stomach started churning as her imagination went ramped. She tried to keep a calm face as images of him brutally raping her flashed through her eyes. He wasn’t going to do that was he?
He must have noticed her expression because he sighed silently and actually made a facial expression; it looked like a very uncomfortable one.
In one swift motion he pinned her up against the wall, letting her feet dangle a foot from the ground.
‘You will accompany me to the Agent HQ.’ He said dropping her and taking hold of her arm. Jones started walking purposefully towards the front door of the warehouse.
Ryann remained silent. She had heard of the Agent HQ before and the rumors of interrogation that had taken place there. Who hadn’t heard of them? They were the things nightmares were made of.
