Chapter 1
Crystal Lake: Thursday August 12th 1981

Shane sat in his living room smoking a joint with his girl Jessica, and his friends Randy, Bob, Kelly, and Jeramy. The weed was really good, hitting the joint was like sucking the asshole of a skunk and the buzz was intense. ZZ Top was playing on the phonograph. It was the album Fandango. Looking around the room you could tell that a bunch of teenagers lived here, posters of their favorite rock stars that they were lucky to even know about were tacked to the walls, the furniture was an assortment of donations from family members and pickings from what people had given to the thrift store. All mismatched and worn out, but to the three young men living there it was the greatest pad ever

Kelly looked over all the others, she being the newest member of the group, trying to decide what to make of everyone, she had only been hanging out for a week and a half. There was Shane, he was built fairly large, six foot two inches tall, 210 lbs. and muscular. Shaggy blonde hair and blue eyes seemed to suit his even and tanned complexion. Randy was much less impressive physically, only about 5' 7" tall and about 160, but he was as intelligent as anyone she had ever met though his sense of humor was childish and sick. Jessica was the typical hippie chick, her brown hair was in a series of braids which hung down on her loosely fitting shirt. Bellbottom jeans which hugged her nicely shaped body and sandals completed her outfit. She really turned Kelly on in that secret way she would never admit to anyone, though she still liked guys too, especially Bob.

Bob was alot like Shane physically, if not for his dark black hair they could pass for brothers. Jeramy was the odd one of the group, he was always kind of quiet and withdrawn. Kelly had asked Bob about it, and he had told her that Jeramy had been like that since the death of his older brother a few years ago. He had been killed when he crashed his car trying to out race another boy from his high school while drunk. With his tightly cropped brown hair he would have looked like a soldier on leave from the service if not for the somber look in his equally brown eyes. She saw alot of pain and sadness there, she guessed he had started smoking grass as a way to deal with the pain of losing his brother and closest friend.

Kelly herself had full blonde hair, and icey blue eyes, they were the kind of eyes that could entrance you and melt your heart. Her skin was a richly tanned color which further accentuated her eyes. Her body was the carricature of early womanhood, full rounded breasts, slim waist, full hips, long slender legs, and an ass that made most mens jeans feel way too tight very quickly. She was not, however, just a pretty face. She had above average intelligence for most adults, she was sharp and very observant of everything around her, and tough as any boy she had ever known. Growing up with four older brothers had ensured that, she could hold her own wrestling any one of them, and had pinned each of them at one point or another.

"So Shane, did Harold let you off at the store so we can go camping tomorrow?" asked Jessica, as she took the joint from Bob. Shane shook his head in the motion indicating yes.

"Yeah, he said he and Edna could handle it OK for one weekend. I like Harold, he's a good old guy, but Edna is such a bitch. She is always giving me, and old Harold especially, hell about everything." Shane was the only other worker at the small market that Harold and Edna ran on the other side of town, on state route 5, headed out to Higgin's Haven. Harold was a large man with bushy black hair and Edna was simply a white trash bitch. With her seemingly permant attire of a house coat and curlers, Shane thought of her as the Creature From the Bath Robe Lagoon.

"Far out, I can't wait to go up to that old camp, I mean just the thought of spending a whole weekend away from everything with just the six of us partying and relaxing is just what the doctor ordered." Jessica said in her kindly spaced out voice. She has apparently inbibed alot more marijuana in her life than any of the other members of the little group in this living room.

"I don't know about the whole thing, I mean do we really want to go up to Camp Blood, I mean everyone says it is jinxed." they all looked at Jeramy as he said this. The expression of slight amusement was on the faces of all but Kelly, who was a little unnerved by this comment.

"What do you mean 'Camp Blood'?"she asked.

"Oh yeah, I forgot you are new in town Kelly." Randy said. "You see, back in 1957, a kid named Jason Voorhees drowned out there. The Counselers that were supposed to be watching him were off screwing in a cabin somewhere and he couldn' t swim. His mom, who was the cook, went crazy. They shut the camp down and reopened it the next year, that was 1958. That summer two counselers were killed. They couldn' t figure out who did it, so the Camp finally shut down for good. Then in 1967 they tried to re-open it again, but someone posioned the water supply, again no one was caught.

"Then last year, a guy named Steve Christy bought the place and was getting ready to open it up, but someone had other ideas. Christy and most of his counselers were murdered on that Friday the 13th. Only one girl survived. It turned out that Jason kid' s mom had been behind all the crazy shit out there over the years, and killed all those people. That one girl, Alice I think her name was, managed to cut her fucking head off with a machete when she came after her. She also said that a boy dragged her into the lake afterward, and that she thought it was Jason. My guess was that she was so fucked up from seeing all her friends mutilated that she hallucinated it, but now people are saying they have seen some big deformed guy in the woods around the old camp. Some people think Jason didn' t drown in the lake, and that that big freak out there is him.

"And what is really freaky is that a month or two after that shit at Camp Blood, thats what everyone in town calls the camp now, that Alice girl was found dead in her house. She was stabbed through the head with an icepick. They never figured out who did it, but the old folks in town say that it was Jason. They belive he saw her kill his mother, then took his revenge on her...."

As Randy finished his story about the history of Camp Blood, Kelly was a little shaken. She looked at him for a few minutes, then turned to Shane. "Is that what really happened, out where we are going?"

"Well, I think Randy is trying to scare the shit out of you with the last part, but yeah, that kid Jason did drown out there, and yeah his mom did kill those people and sabotage the camp when they tried to reopen it all those times. And the Alice girl was killed, but I dont think it was Jason. Probably she suprised a burgular or something. Just relax, Jason drowned like 30 years ago and Mrs. Pamela Sue Voorhees is dead. Dont let Randy's bullshit scare you, we'll be fine, I promise you." Shane winked at her and flexed his arm, and Kelly laughed. Jessica hugged him, and Randy looked at her mock serious.

"He says that now, but let's see what he say's when Jason comes up and sticks a machete up his ass!!" They all laughed, all but Kelly, who was more scared inside than she wanted to admit. She just sat there, thinking.

Friday August 13th, 1981

As Shane was packing up the station wagon, Kelly came pulling up to his drive way. She got out of her little Beetle and walked over carrying her pack and wearing some extremely short jogging shorts and a snug tanktop. As she walked up, Randy couldn't help himself. He walked up to her and put an arm around her. "Damn Kelly, I belive you are the sexiest thing I have ever seen!! Whats say me and you ditch this camping trip and go give my mattress a workout?"

Kelly shoved his arm off laughing. "In your dreams Randy. I only have eyes for Jessica", she said laughing and winked at Jessica.

"Thats cool, so long as I can bring my home movie camera..." Randy said, and Shane shot him a mock serious 'leave my girl out of this' look and smiled. Jessica licked her lips looking at Kelly. Kelly felt a heat in her crotch, but decided to let Jessica's nonverbal suggestion go unnoticed for now.

They piled into the station wagon and pulled out of the driveway heading toward the lake. On he way Shane decided to stop for gas, not wanting to chance running out of feul on the trip back. It was afterall over 20 miles from the town to the camp. While he was filling the tank Kelly went inside to grab a soda and use the toilet. She walked up to the counter and sat her Pepsi down, the glass already starting to sweat in the August heat. The clank roused the lady at the counter from her half dazed, half asleep state in which she passed the largest part of her work day.

"Oh, hi there sweet heart, sorry I didn't hear you come in. Will that do it for you?" the lady at the counter asked her groggily.

"Yeah Jane, I guess so. Oh, wait, can I use your bathroom?" she asked Jane while simoutanously fanning herself and rubbing the cold soda bottle over her brow. The heat had resulted in her being covered in a light sheen of sweat.

"Sure kid, here's the key, it's around back." she said as she handed Kelly the key. She walked around the corner, heading for the restroom when seemingly from no where a tall, thin old man stepped out in front of her. He was wearing a small fedora type hat with a blue shirt and suspenders clipped ont his worn out wool slacks. He seemed gaunt and worn out, his skin pale and his cheeks stubbly. The smell of burbon was coming off of him in pungent waves, as if he had bathed in it instead of just drinking the stuff. At first he just stared at her, then he spoke, his words not nearly as slurred as one would think judging from the odor coming off of him.

"Yeah, going to Camp Blood are you? You will end up like the others, it's got a death curse. I have warned you, go back now, go back whence ye came!!" He shouted the last at her, startling her badly. She was about to scream for help when Shane cam around the corner and saw the man looking at Kelly. He walked over and shoved the man roughly backwards.

"HEY!! Stay away from us Ralph!!! I don't have the patience for you that the Sherif does, bother her again, and I'll thump you!!!" Ralph backed off and grabbed his bike, and shouted as he rode away.

"YOU'RE ALL DOOMED!!! DOOMED I SAY DOOMED!!!!!" He rode away quickly, screaming the same all the way. Kelly was shaking badly, she was spooked. Something about the way he said the last chilled her heart, chilled her to the bone. She shook it off and went into the bathroom, when she returned she jumped into the station wagon.

"Who was that psycho Shane??"

"Crazy Ralph. He is just some drunk who likes to terrorize people. Fancies himself a prophet of doom, fuck him. Dont sweat it, hes just a crazy old man, lets get going huh?" They pulled out of the parking lot, and headed for Camp Crystal Lake.
