There might be some spoilers in my explanations here, so if you want to read the story without any background information, you can immediately start with the first chapter.

Excuses: English is not my mother language, so please don’t kill me if there are some mistakes or wrong expressions, I’m really doing my best!
Inspiration : The story was inspired by the book I’m currently reading, which is “Les Liaisons Dangereuses” by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. I absolutely love the story and I’ve seen three of the adaptations which I also loved, so I’m quite familiar with the story. So, the other day I came up with the brilliant idea of writing a fanfiction about it, only replacing the characters by the cast of Pirates of the Caribbean. I had to change some details about the story because my fanfiction isn’t set in the 18th century.
Original Story : Dangerous Liaisons by Laclos tells the story of the Marquise Isabelle de Merteuil who wants her friend, the Vicomte Sébastien de Valmont to seduce Cécile de Volanges who is getting married to Merteuil’s ex-lover Gercourt against her will. He wants Cécile because she had been in a convent (so she’s a virgin) and Merteuil wants Valmont to take the young girl’s virginity from her in order to take her revenge on Gercourt. Valmont first doesn’t agree because he’s set his eyes on a woman that for him represents a far bigger challenge: Madame Marie de Tourvel who is married and has very high principles. At last they start a bet: If Valmont manages to seduce Tourvel, he will get what he always wanted: A night with Isabelle de Merteuil...
I know, the summary’s not very good and a little complicated, I’m not very good at that, but I hope you get a little idea about the story if you don’t know it already (most of you certainly know the movie “Cruel Intentions” with Sarah Michelle Gellar, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe which is in fact nothing but a modern-day movie adaption of Laclos’ story.
Presentation of the characters:
Johnny Depp :
He represents Vicomte Sébastien de Valmont. At first, he may seem pretty evil, a little arrogant and emotionless, but that’ll change a bit later in the story. Inside he’s a very nice guy, he just doesn’t know it yet. He spends time with the wrong people and has probably never had a real relationship. He prefers men to women, but occasionally he also accepts a woman *lol*. He is interested in Orlando because he is the only man he can’t have.
Geoffrey Rush :
Geoffrey plays the part of Isabelle de Merteuil. He’s the personnification of evil and has absolutely no conscious. Obviously, he’s not really the object of everyone’s desires, so I had to change something in the story. So Johnny doesn’t agree to the bet because he wants to spend a night with Geoffrey, but because he wants to pay off his debts. Geoff heard that Keira had an affair with his ex-lover so he’s pissed off and wants revenge...
Orlando Bloom :
He’s my version of Madame Marie de Tourvel, because he’s so sweet and innocent. Orlando is the straightest guy you can imagine and he’s so naive and innocent that he doesn’t realize that Johnny’s after him.
Keira Knightley :
Represents Cécile de Volanges. She’s the only girl in my story and she seems very innocent and nice, but some people will be surprised... She is deadly in love with Jack Davenport but she’s too shy to do something about it.
Jack Davenport :
He’s my version of Raphael Danceny. He’s very shy and has been in love with Keira for ages, but he’s too shy to tell her. He has also been with men, but his heart beats only for Keira.
Sean Bean :
He’s some kind of Madame de Volanges, Cécile’s mother. Well, obviously Sean isn’t Keira’s mother *lol*. Funny thought. Well anyway, he tries to protect Orlando from Johnny which is in fact all he does in the story.
Summary of my story : Johnny owes Geoffrey money. Geoffrey calls Johnny suggesting that he pays off his debts by seducing Keira because Geoffrey is mad at Keira who apparently has an affair with Geoffrey’s ex. Johnny first rejects this offer because he’s wants to seduce straight Orlando, seeing in him a real challenge. Johnny and Geoffrey start a bet because Geoffrey doesn’t believe that he’ll manage to get Orlando...
