Lost At Sea
Title: Lost At Sea
Rated: NC17
Disclaimer: This story is a complete work of fiction which means no harm towards Disney, the movie 'Pirates of the Caribbean', or the characters/actors mentioned within. I am making no profit from this piece and it is purely for my benefit and the love of writing. There are a few spoilers for PotC: Dead Mans Chest as well. You've been warned. 'Lost at Sea' contains strong language and sexual reference along with disturbing situations and explicit sexual acts. Please read this at your own digression.
Summary: It's been a few months since we left Jack Sparrow - bitter and cold and nearly alone in this world. He's been searching for a way to bring his beloved back to him but that's the thing about death - once your dead... your dead. Or are you?
Author's Note: 'Lost At Sea' starts out with a prelude for 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest' - telling of what happened to Jack at the end of 'Open Waters' (which pretty much takes place after 'Curse of the Black Pearl') and then cuts to the end of 'Dead Man's Chest' when he is about to be swallowed by the sea monster. In my world everything pretty much happens as the second movie shows except you should imagine more of Jack being upset over Olivia and there was no 'almost kiss' or 'actual kiss' between Jack and Elizabeth - not to mention she is HAPPILY married to Will. Hope that makes sense.. it's late. Oh, PLEASE REVIEW!

Prelude..
Once your lungs were enveloped in that smell, the damp - murky stink of the deepest, darkest pit of the Caribbean there was no turning back for she already knew you were there and her force pulled you in like wriggling, dying fish. The swamp waters called to him as he continued to row his boat further into the thick jungle - his skin crawling at the thought of seeing her again.
Tia Dalma was a strange and powerful woman.
Before he realized he was standing at her hut with his arm raised to knock - only to have the door swing open and an eccentric woman stand before him - welcoming him with a sly grin.
"Jack Sparrow.."
His name slipped past her forked tongue and sounded like death on her lips.
"Tia, darling, it's been.."
"Seven years, Jack. Part of me want to believe you used me." She assured honestly, glancing down at the compass he wore on his belt. "..all dat trouble over dis compass and you can't even figure out what you want."
Jack narrowed his eyes at the thought. His whole life he hadn't known what he truly wanted but now, after everything that had happened in the past few weeks - his last chance had surely dissolved into ash and he knew. "I do know what I want.." He stated, matter of fact - staring into Tia's enchanting eyes. There was no mistaking the lust and the pain that dwelled behind those dark brown hues - the guilt of Olivia's death hung heavily around him.
Tia offered a chair but Jack refused - deciding to stand with his front to her at all times. She had helped him once before but he didn't entirely trust her or that toothless smile that screamed deception. She laughed at nothing and took a seat at the end of the table - idly fingering a few trinkets as they continued to stare at one another. Jack only showed himself in her swamp when he desperately needed something.
"There be no bringin' her back.. you know this.. you feel it.."
"Why?" He croaked, a bit of vicious anger rising in his voice. He knew what Tia Dalma was capable of and she wouldn't reject him - no matter what he had to offer her in return. "You've done it before.."
Tia rolled her eyes at the thought. "You seen a lot of 'tings, Jack Sparrow. There be no denying dat but dis you ask of me is not som'tin dat you seen. She's gone and not even God himself be bringin' her back to you."
Jack slammed his fists down onto the unsteady table - causing several candles to turn over and blow out. "Name your price, Tia. Anything you want in this whole fucking ocean - my life, my very soul - consider it yours." The strange girl began to cackle even though Jack didn't seem to find anything relatively funny. "Ahh, I see - dis girls soul be som'tin priceless to ya, hmm.." Tia was mostly talking to herself now - thinking hard about what Jack was asking and then she realized.
"You killed dis girl, no?"
Jack fell back on his heals - dumbfounded and at a loss for words.
"..broke day poor girls heart and sent her away from here, ya did. Now you want to rip her out of purgatory so you can ease dat ache inside yer chest - selfish, Jack Sparrow.."
Tia stood from her chair slowly and glided over to where Jack was standing - noticing, but not mentioning the few tears that formed just at the rims of his eyes. Jack was indeed consumed with grief over this girl but there was nothing she could do for him - especially since he didn't have anything worth any real value to offer her.
"You know what I want, Jack? Som'tin you know a lot about.. been chasin' it your whole life nearly.."
Jack took in a deep, needed breath of stale air and balled his fists up at his sides. She wanted the one thing he had been trying to get his hands on for ten years - something he had sold his soul for several times over with no prevail. He had a debt to pay to Davy Jones and the only way to be pardoned from such a fate was to find the dead mans chest and make it so. Tia knew this as well - which caused her to grin at the thought of him sacrificing himself for his girl.
On one hand - if he retrieved the heart of Davy Jone's and gave it to Tia Dalma she would surely voodoo up one of her chants and bring Olivia back to him in one, solid piece. On the other - he would be damned to work on the Flying Dutchman for 100 years, without his bonnie lass.
"Tia.." Jack growled, biting his tongue in fear at what she might do to him. They stared at each other for a long moment before he turned on his heals and left her hut without a word. He had a lot of soul searching to do in very little time.
~
A/N: Yadda, yadda - PotC: Dead Man's Chest takes place. Makes sense - Jack never really said what he needed Jone's heart for. He doesn't pursue Elizabeth - they sure as hell don't KISS. Oh, and he was a little to upset to ask Tia of the whereabouts of Davy Jone's key - hence the reason they visit her in the second movie! Read on!
