A/N: for those of you that have indeed read Healing the Wounds of the Heart, I will warn you that this story *will* be more graphic, more torturous *and* with even more twists and turns than it’s prequel.
And, another sequel following afterwards ((teehee, yeah, I’ll have my own trilogy))
Summary: The newfound happiness is threatened, by a rich woman, the royal navy, and all enemies newly risen.

Chapter one: Missed me?
As was agreed, Elizabeth left the ship as soon as they arrived at Port Royal’s, giving her a rowboat, they set her off to fend for herself, not wanting to remain so close to the town.
As Jack sailed away the Pearl, Will watched with a smile, still not believing that this all had really happened.
Jack had helped him regain his confidence, his spirit and for that he’d be always grateful.
The peace he felt was disturbed as the alarm was sounded and the crew ran around deck in great haste.
Swiftly he moved to Jack, “What’s happening?”
Jack looked at the youth, praying his Pearl not to let him down, “He’s back”
At the words, the youth looked confused, looking out over the water, he gasped, feeling himself tremble, “Y-you said you killed him!”
Jack nodded, “I think I did…”
Will whimpered, “We’re the faster, aren’t we?”
Jack gave a nod, “Aye, we should be, but, since we had to deliver your bonnielass, we’re also at the beginning off a lagoon, there’s only one way out…and that’s the way that ship’s coming from”
Will was growing faint, and Jack released the wheel to catch him, “No William, stay with me, I need your help.”
Will groaned soft, but nodded, “What…w-what can I do?”
Jack smiled, “Take the crew, the boats, get to the land, hide…I’ll join you not long after”
Will nodded, though he wasn’t happy leaving Jack behind, leaning in and kissing him deeply, he whispered his love before doing as Jack had asked.
Jack smiled as he watched the boats sail away, while he remained to distract the oncoming ship of the escape, crashing his Pearl, he made sure she couldn’t be taken, if they wanted her, they’d have to fix her up first.
Swiftly then, he moved to last boat that had remained, but it was too late.
As the pirate crew jumped on board, he knew it was too late to escape and he resigned himself to the comfort that at least Will was save.
Speaking the word Parley, the pirate crew cursed out their opinion on that, but, they were stopped as Barbossa stepped forward, “Did ye miss me Jack? Tsk tsk, look what ye’ve done to me ship! And don’t think me’s forgotten that ye’ve shot me Jackie boy. Aye, looks like ye need new training!”
Jack smiled, “Oh, no that’s quite alright, I’m good”
Barbossa laughed, “I think ye don’t have a say in the matter Jack. Take him to me cabin, make sure he’s chained, the Pearl has lost it’s value, leave it here, his grew don’t matter to us. Be off”
From the woods, Will had been watching closely, and though Gibbs had held him, keeping from going back, he couldn’t stop the cry for Jack that escaped the youth as the pirate was dragged off.
Gibbs cursed under his breath, “We must go now, and fast, if they find us, Jack’s sacrifice would’ve been for nothing”
Will shook his head, “Then go… He needn’t suffer alone. I shall stay”
Gibbs sighed in frustration then smiled, “Will, you can’t help Jack while you’re there, if we lay low, we can fix up the Pearl whence they’ve left and go after them, free Jack.”
Will gave a nod, sneaking off with the crew only moments before their earlier hiding place was trampled by Barbossa’s crew, who swiftly moved back to report they saw no one.
Barbossa nodded, “Then let us go now, set sail to Isla Muelle and don’t be disturbing me, I’ll be having a certain…sparrow… to entertain”
Inside Barbossa’s cabin, Jack lay still, he’d heard Will’s cry for him, and hoped by the Gods the youth wouldn’t do anything stupid.
He was afraid, knowing full well what would happen next, but he was content knowing that Will was safe.
That fact alone was worth his sacrifice.
