Never Been a Lady

I do not own rights to Pirates of the Caribbean, nor do I make any money from posting this story here. Also this story may cross into Mary-sueness, and I apologize in advance.

Never been a Lady

It was a very dark night in Ireland, not a star shown in the sky and the water was a flat calm. At the far end of the dock, sat a small thirty-one foot sloop. The hull had been painted a deep midnight blue, and her sails were their typical white. The only light that could be seen, was a lamp hanging from a hook on the single mast of the boat.
Down below the deck, a young girl also dressed in black was making her finial preparations, before setting sail for the newly settled island of Port Royal. This was going to be a dangerous feat, both just being out in the open ocean for as long as she was going to be, and she was also going to have to hide the fact, she was indeed a woman. Her long brown hair had been pulled back, like that of a man's and her attire also made her look like a male. She had even gone so far as to, tie a sash around her firm breasts so she appeared to have a flat chest, and used some of her gun powder to give herself a faint mustache.
Smoke and Mirrors, had been built by the girl's father, who was a very good shipwright. They had planed to make this journey together, but sadly he passed away and now she had to go it alone. She was extremely nervous, but her father had taught her well and she was prepared.
With the last of her cargo safely secured, she cast herself off and a sudden wind blew through her open sails and brought her out to sea. The small boat moved through the water, with a smoothness she had never felt and an enormous sense of freedom swept over her.
She sailed on throughout the night, until she could see the sky starting to turn light. She took out her telescope and looked around, before taking in her sail and retreated below decks to get some much needed rest. There was a small berth towards the bow of the boat, and she lay down listening to the sound of the waves as they lapped the hull.
She only slept for about four hours, before unfurling her sails and continuing on. The winds had picked up, and were carrying her briskly over the water. Even though her boat had but one sail, it managed to move at a wonderful pace. The young girl just hoped, these winds would stay put. It was going to take about four months to get to her destination, and the girl couldn't wait.
As the months went by, she started to become very excited as the color of the water started changing from the dark blue she was used to, to the turquoise green which she knew meant, she was getting closer to her destination. She also began seeing all kinds of ships. A few she recognized as merchant ships, and were hundreds of feet long. The only ones that kept her on her guard, were the military vessels with their many cannons.
On the final day of her journey, she decided it was safe for her to loose her disguise. It was sunrise, and she had taken in her sails like always. She went below, and removed her disgusting clothes, and filled a fresher with water she had collected during a rain storm a week before. She took a small bar of black soap and began to wash herself and her hair. She then took out a plain, lavender dress with long sleeves that reached down to her ankles.
Once she had changed, she continued on into the bay of Port Royal. Her long brown hair flowed in the gentle breeze, and a very confident smile lined her lips as she past by other ships. As the docks drew closer, she found it even harder to contain her excitement. She could see a few military men marching along the sands, and could see the pier buzzing with activity as other sailors prepared for their journeys elsewhere.

It was at this time, lieutenant Norrington was looking around the docks when he noticed the young girl tying up her boat, and handing over a shilling to leave it there. She grabbed a single trunk from below deck, and set it down on the dock before getting off. She sat on top of the trunk, as the reality of her situation sunk in and her eyes welled up with tears of joy.
“Excuse me miss, is everything alright?” Norrington asked, his deep voice snapping her out of her thoughts.
“Yes, I'm fine. I just can't believe I made it!” She laughed.
“Made it from where?” He asked, looking concerned.
“Ireland, I sailed her all by myself!” She answered, a bright smile on her face.
“And what is your intention, now that you've arrived here?” He asked.
“Well, as much as I would hate to, I'm thinking about selling her so I can get a small parcel of land here. I don't need much, but I want to be near the water. This harbor is beautiful, and it would be nice to watch the ships in passing.” She answered.
“What's your name?” He asked.
“Angel, and what shall I call you?” She replied.
“Lieutenant Norrington.” He answered.
“Well lieutenant, as much as I would love to continue this conversation, I would actually love to get a decent meal. Is there an inn here? I haven't slept for the past two nights and could use the rest.” She asked.
“Follow me please, I'll take you there.” He answered, signaling his men to take her trunk.
“Hey, why don't we skip down the dock!” She laughed.
“Absolutely not!” He fired back, looking stern.
“I was kidding, I don't even know how to.” She chuckled.
“How old are you Angel?” He asked.
“Sixteen, I was brought up by my father. It's a shame he wasn't able to cross with me, but perhaps it was for the best. He was very ill, and I don't think he would have survived the trip. I mean I think I've lost, about fifty pounds in four months. I never realized how much of a toll the seas would have on me, but I don't regret a second of it!” She sighed, as she was led through town.
“That was a very dangerous thing you did, there are pirates out there!” He scolded her.
“I think I saw a few of em out there, but I wasn't of any interest to them. I dressed like a man, so they wouldn't notice and my boat was so small, no pirate was going to waste their time.” She informed him very mater of factually.
“This is the inn, once the governor has awoken, he will be informed of your arrival.” He informed her.
“Sounds good, I look forward to meeting him.” She replied, taking her trunk and going inside.
“Can I help ye missy?” The inn-keeper asked.
“I need a room, and a good meal.” She replied.
“Follow me miss.” He answered, coming away from the bar.
He led her up a flight of wooden stairs, to a small room with just a bed and a desk over near a window. Angel put her trunk down and followed the heavy-set man back down stairs. An older woman sat her down at a table, and filled a bowl with porridge and gave her a small tumbler of milk.
“This tastes so good, after what I've grown accustomed to eating!” She laughed.
“Ye be Irish?” The inn-keeper asked, recognizing her accent.
“I see you are, also.” She smiled.
“Ye didn't get here all by your onesy, did ye?” He asked, stunned.
She said nothing, but nodded as that same bright smile came back.

Once she had finished eating, Angel went back up stairs and began braiding her hair to keep it out of her pale face. Even though she had been exposed to the sun everyday for, four months she still was able to maintain her pale complexion. Not having anything else to put on, she went to the bed and lay down.
She awoke in the early evening, and smoothed out hair before coming down stairs. The tavern was getting busy with sailors and other people from the town. Angel smiled at the inn-keeper, before stepping out into the air. The sun was starting to set, and a cool breeze swept through the town.
She began to explore her new home, and came upon a long stretch of beach. She could see the docks from there, and followed it until she neared the end. As she looked around, she found a small cabin just beyond the sand, which seemed to blend in with the massive rock wall next to it. The cabin looked like it had seen better days, the roof had a few holes in it and the door was missing. She ventured inside, and found a single room with a simple hearth.
Liking what she saw, she rushed back to the inn and grabbed her trunk. It took her a little longer this time to get back to the beach, but she eventually made it with her things. She pulled out a cloth hammock, and nailed it up using what she had brought with her, and a rock as a hammer. She then took her trunk and put it in the middle of the room, to use as a table.
Finally she gathered up some dried seaweed, and a few fallen palm levees in order to start a fire in the hearth. With her small home illuminated by fire light, she set to work trying to fix the patches in her roof. Using more of the palm leaves, she tied them together with string she had brought with her and used them to fill the spaces.
Once her work was finished, she sat outside on the sand watching the waves. The tied was high, but the water was still a good ten feet away from her The sun was nearly set, and cast a mysterious glow over the still harbor. Angel breathed in the ocean's sent, and sighed as another wave of joy passed through her.
Eight years would pass, before the open ocean would call to her again. It was the day off lieutenant Norrington's promotion ceremony,he was about to become commodore Norrington and most of the towns people were up at the fort. Angel of course couldn't be bothered, and had swam out to the rocks near the opening of the harbor, to get a better look at the ships as they passed by.
As she sat there, she saw a small boat coming into the harbor and it's captain peaked her
interest. His skin had been kissed by the sun, and she could see dreadlocks falling down his back beneath his hat. He was dressed in a brown jacket, and a black leather strap could be seen over his shoulder where his sword was sheathed. He stood in his boat, trying to bail water out of it when he noticed Angel standing on the rocks.
“Hey! Four shillings and a kiss says I can make it to the docks before you! Feel like taking me on?” She asked, with a laugh.
“Go for it love!” He called back, grinning.
She laughed, before diving beneath the wave. She came up to make sure he was following her, before going under again. She pulled herself up onto the dock, just as he was nearing the end of it. He had beaten her even with his boat sinking!
“I guess I'm still no match for the boats.” She gasped, handing him the four coins from a pouch tied to her wrist, before capturing his lips in a fierce kiss and taking off down the beach.
He laughed to himself, before heading for a forbidden dock. He managed to distract the two guards long enough to climb aboard one of the fleet ships, only to be ordered to get away from it. As the three of them conversed, the Governor's daughter had been on the forts highest point talking with the commodore before fainting. She had been made to ware a painful corset, which had rendered her unable to breath.

The stranger, dived into the water to save her but once it was discovered he was a pirate, a great chase through the town was on. He managed to escape for a brief moment, but was caught at the local blacksmith's.
It was nightfall, before things calmed down and Angel had a chance to sneak up to the fort and found the pirate sitting near the far wall of his cell, while another group of prisoners sat in another cell trying to get a dog with keys over to them.
“Well, well, it looks like we've got a visitor!” One of them smirked.
“Oh what this, you want this?” She asked, giving her breasts a bounce.
“Yeah!” One of them chuckled.
“Well to bad, ya can't have it!” She said, giving them a raspberry and stopping in front of the pirate's cell.
“I saw what you did to miss Swann, captain Sparrow!” She said, trying to hide a smile.
“Is that so?” He replied, unamused.
“Yes, and I have to say, I'm quite jealous!” She laughed, giving him a wink.
“Jealous of what?” He asked, cracking a smile.
“All I get's a kiss, but she get's to put your effects on ya! I would've traded anything to have been that close to ya, especially given my obsession for pirates!” She teased.
“What's your name love?” He asked, grinning.
“Angel.” She smiled.
He stepped back a little.
“You're not the one who sailed here by herself, are you?” He asked.
“How do you know about that? I haven't told anybody that since I got here.” She replied, somewhat surprised.
“News travels in these waters, deary.” He smiled.
“I guess so!” She laughed, stepping closer and taking his left hand in hers.
She pushed his sleeve back, to reveal the branded P on the lower part of his arm along with his tattoo of a sparrow. She traced the lines of both markings, before smiling.
“I've always wanted a tattoo, I've always wanted to be a pirate too but that's a story for another day!” She said.
“You could start by getting me out of here.” He replied.
Before she could say anything else, the sound of cannon fire echoed throughout the port. This caused Sparrow to go to the window, since he recognized the sounds they made. Once Angel learned the name of the ship they came from, she made a dash for the door.
“Oi! Where do you think you're going?” He asked.
“If that's the Pearl, I gotta try and get on it! Jack you have no idea, how long I've wanted to be aboard her. I don't care what happens, I wanna be on that ship! I'm sure if I make the captain a good offer, he'll take it!” She answered.
“And just what are you going to use to bargain with?” He asked, a little irritated.
“My virginity.” She answered, before leaving.
The town was in complete chaos, with everyone running through the streets. There were many pirates, and they were looting stores and wreaking havoc everywhere. It wasn't until she was, near the center of the action she saw Elizabeth being taken away by a group of them. She quickly ran to them, and followed them to the waiting boats.
“Angel! What are you doing?” Elizabeth asked.
“I need to leave this place, and have an offer to make to their captain!” She answered, running with them.
“Come on then!” One of them ordered, grabbing her arm.

He was a tall and really thin, his short hair was very greasy and Angel could see a wooden eye in his left socket. As she and Elizabeth were seated in long boats, she was forced to sit next to him but somewhat enjoyed it. Not caring about the consequences, she ran a hand up his arm and began to rub in between where his neck and shoulder line met.
“Hey! What are you doing?” Another man asked.
This one was shorter and fat, the top of his head was void of hair but it fell over his shoulders in messy strands. He gave Angel a warning glare, as his friend seemed to be eating it up.
“I can't help it, I like this guy!” She laughed, licking the back of his ear.
“Angel, you're disgusting!” Elizabeth scolded.
“I know, I can't help it!” She laughed, kissing his cheek.
“I'm glad we're bringing you on board!” He laughed, soaking up her touch.
“What's your name?” She asked.
“Ragetti, this here is Pintel.” He answered.
“Angel, just what is so fascinating about him?” Elizabeth asked.
“No clue, but I'm enjoying this!” She laughed.
“Me too, you're gonna be lots of fun!” He replied, capturing her lips in a fierce kiss.
Angel laughed to herself, as she deepened the kiss letting his tongue explore the wet cavern of her mouth.
“Alright, Alright! That's enough!” Pintel grumbled, pulling the two apart.
“I agree!” Elizabeth replied, in disgust.
When they got on board, the two girls were introduced to captain Barbossa. He was dressed in mostly black, and a small monkey sat on his right shoulder. As Elizabeth negotiated with him, Angel was making eyes at another crewman. He was very tall, with ebony skin and no shirt. He had a series of strange markings around his eyes, and over his arms.
Ragetti saw the look in her eye, and gave her an elbow.
“That's the Boson, you don't wanna tangle with him!” He whispered.
“No, but I think I wanna tangle with you some more!” She laughed.
“And what is it you want? You've not said a word.” The captain asked.
“I'm just coming along for the ride, if you'll have me.” She smiled.
“She said, she had an offer to make you!” Pintel said.
“Which I will do, but to you alone.” She added.
Barbossa signaled his men to take Elizabeth to his cabin, while he brought Angel up towards the helm.
“Okay, what is it you want?” He asked.
“I wish to be apart of your crew, and am prepared to give you everything in exchange.” She answered.
“I'll take the offer, but for now I want ye to accompany miss Turner in my cabin.” He ordered.
“Yes, my captain!” She replied, blushing a little.
He just laughed as he watched her go down the stairs, and into his candle lit cabin. Elizabeth was sitting on a counter near the window, and watched Angel come in and sit on the floor resting her head against the leg of a table.
“I can't believe you're prostituting yourself like this Angel, where's your pride?” She asked.
“I think I lost it, during the crossing here!” She laughed.
“Can you be serious for once!” Elizabeth demanded.
“You and I are two different women, Elizabeth. You still have that sense of honor, which is great but I have no regrets and I feel no shame in teasing men. The more I think about it, the more I think I should have set my sights on Tortuga, instead of Port Royal. I hear the women there, share my sense of fun.” Angel replied.
“But it's immoral!” She said.

“I don't see what's so wrong, about giving in to our most primal need! I mean you can't honestly sit there, and say you have never felt that want! You know, the feeling like your blood's on fire and at any moment, you could go absolutely mad! From the moment we are born, we are told to suppress these feelings, but I simply refuse! And if that makes me a trollop, or causes others to look down on me then let it happen, because I'm not sorry!” Angel fired back.
“You do realize what Norrington's going to do with you, if he catches you?” Elizabeth asked.
“Yes, but that's to be expected from any member of the royal navy. I realize, if I should choose to be a pirate that the consequences are great, but I can't let the fear of what might happen dictate how I choose to live my life.” She replied, softening up.
“Angel, may I ask you something?” Elizabeth asked.
“Go for it.” She laughed.
“Have you ever been with a man?” She asked.
“No, I've been saving myself for the first pirate captain I met. I actually had hopped to give it up, to Jack. I got to play with him, before these guys came here!”Angel laughed.
“Did you see what he did to me?” She asked.
“Yes and no offense, but if I had been in the same situation, I would have done the same thing. At that point you were just a bargaining tool, and it gave him a chance to get away! Besides, I really didn't think he would have done anything, if Norrington had let him go. After all, he did save your life!” Angel pointed out.
“You hate Norrington, don't you?” Elizabeth asked.
“I don't hate him, I just wish he had a better sense of humor. I know he's a military man, but that doesn't mean you can't smile, once in a while.” She answered.
“What about Will?” She asked.
“He needs to lighten up a bit too. See that's what I hate about some men, they have no sense of humor at all. It makes it so much harder to deal with, especially for me because I love being silly! I actually kind of wish you and I could have been friends, you're not at all like most women of your station.” Angel answered.
“My father thought you were a bad influence, so he never would have allowed it.” She replied, with a sigh.
“I love being a bad influence!” Angel yawned.
She got up and went over to where the wooden counters met the floor, and sat down pulling her knees to her chest, before leaning her head against the wood.
“You're not fall asleep over there are you?” Elizabeth asked.
“You'd be surprised where I can fall asleep!” She laughed, before drifting off.
It was barely sunrise, when she woke up to find Elizabeth sleeping near the window. She silently snuck out of the captain's cabin, and out into the dawn air. On deck it was desolate, except for a couple of Barbossa's crew. Not wanting to venture to far, Angel took a seat on the steps soaking up the feeling of the wind in her face.
A few minuets went by, and she saw Ragetti coming up from below decks. She smiled, but jumped a little when his wooden eye came out and he began chasing it down the deck. Angel got up, to help him and caught it as it rolled by her feet.
“Here's your eye back.” She laughed.
“I almost forgots about you.” He grinned.
“Do you have time to sit with me for a moment?” She asked, going back to the stairs.
“Sure!” He replied, joining her.
“I still don't get what it is about you, I like so much.” She laughed, planting kisses down his neck.
“I don't care!” He chuckled.
“Isn't there somewheres else you can do that?” A familiar voice asked from behind them.
Both of them jumped to see Barbossa standing there. Ragetti backed off the steps, and Angel blushed.
“I'm sorry captain, I fancy him. I can't help it!” She confessed.
“It be okay, as long as ye ain't been tampered with, before I has a chance to claim ye for me self!” He laughed.
“I've forgotten how much I miss the sea, I was such a fool to sell my boat.” She said, once they were alone.
“You're the one who sailed these waters alone, aren't you?” He asked.
“Yes, and I loved every moment of it. I'm surprised we didn't cross each others paths, I was almost sure I'd run into you, sooner or later. I would have made you the same offer too, the stories of the Black Pearl reached all the way home, and I wanted so badly to become part of the legend. There's so much freedom, and power in that. She's such an impressive ship too, I can't believe I'm standing on her now!” She smiled.
“Aye, she is a beauty.” He agreed, running the back of his hand down her cheek.
She took his hand in hers, and got up the courage to venture further by going for the open part of his shirt.
“We could do this now, you know.” She suggested.
“Aye, we could, if I could feel anythin.” He answered.
He brought her in closer, and explained to her about the curse he and his crew were under. He told her of the other golden coins, which looked identical to the one Elizabeth had been carrying. He also explained to her, because of the curse he couldn't feel anything.
“And that goes for all of the crew too?” She asked.
“Master Ragetti and a few of the others can feel, but the curse is still upon them.” He answered.
“I was gonna say, he seemed to enjoy the affection I gave him last night.” She laughed.
“Aye, he can but it will never take away that need. But I want you for meself once we're free, especially if ye hasn't been with a man before.” He laughed.
“Why, fancy virgins do you?” She teased.
“Aye, and I can make ye see stars!” He laughed.
“Then, I'll wait until the curse is lifted. I don't wanna do this, if I'm the only one getting pleasure from it. You've been unable to feel anything for this long, and I think taking a virgin should be your prize!” She laughed.
“And remember, don't say anything to the lady!” He warned, heading back towards the helm.
It wouldn't be until later that night, she would see exactly what Barbossa was talking about. He had told her the moonlight caused them to change, and when it came out the whole crew became skeletons. Angel was a little nervous, but after a while she got used to it.
She ended up joining him and Elizabeth in his cabin for dinner. There were all kinds of meats, and wine. Elizabeth tried her best to remain a lady, and eat with the best of manners but Barbossa told her it wasn't necessary.
“Just go for it, use both hands and go!” Angel laughed, as she squirreled a piece of turkey leg in her mouth.
“You just don't care do you?” She asked.
“Nope!” Angel laughed again.
Barbossa proceeded to tell Elizabeth the same story, he had told Angel but this only frightened her to the point of trying to attack him. She even managed to stab him in the chest, which of course did nothing and she ran out of the cabin and onto the deck. She was horrified by the sight of the crewmen, and eventually ended up back in the cabin, huddled in the corner like a scared child.
Angel remained out on deck for a good part of the night, watching them change as the moon dipped in and out between the clouds. When he had a free moment, Ragetti came over and sat with her on the steps again.
“Hey gorgeous.” She laughed.
“You're not afraid, by us changing?” He asked.
“Nope, I mean it's weird, but the captain kinda prepared me for it.” She answered, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
“You really likes me don't ya?” He chuckled.
“Yeah, I can't wait till this curse of yours is lifted. We're gonna have a lot of fun, I can tell.” She replied.
“We could have a bit of fun right now, if you wanted to.” He suggested.
“I want to, but what's the point, if you can't benefit from it?” She replied.
“It'll be fine, you can just repay me for it tomorrow.” He laughed.
“Is there a place we can be alone on this ship?” She smiled.
He wasted no time, taking her by the hand and leading her below decks. They went past the cargo hold, and to a room right off that. It was filled with barrels, and bottles of rum. He placed a lantern on the wall, giving the room a mysterious glow.
Angel sat on top of one of the barrels, and watched him remove his shirt. He approached her, and lifted her chin up with his finger, before capturing her lips in a heated kiss. She was all to eager to return the favor, and massaged his tongue with her own. As the kiss went deeper, she wrapped her legs around his waist and trailed her hands down his back.
He broke away from the kiss to remove her dress, leaving her fully exposed. He kissed down her neck, until he reached her breasts. He cupped one in one hand, while running his tongue over the fleshy nub of the other one.
“That feels good!” She moaned.
He laughed, as he paid the other one equal attention and kissed his way down her flat belly. He got down on his knees, and draped her legs over his shoulders as he flicked his tongue over her most sensitive area.
“Ragetti!” She yelped, as the sensations surged through her thin body.
“He he, call for me again!” He laughed, as he swirled his tongue inside her.
“Oh Ragetti, it's amazing!” She cried, as she hit her peak and her sweet honey ran down her inner thigh.
He held her close as she came down off her sexual high, and deep kissed her again.
“I promise once the curse is lifted, I'll give you everything you want.” She gasped.
He said nothing, but kissed her cheek and helped her back into her dress. Once he had fixed himself the two came out, and went back on deck.
“I'll see ya early in the morning, I gots to retire.” He said.
“Right, and thank you.” She smiled, before retreating into the captain's cabin.
She said nothing to Elizabeth, but fell asleep on the floor under the table. Her face was still red from her session, and she was completely exhausted.
It was early in the morning, when they came for both girls. Elizabeth was very scared, thinking this was her final stand and Angel was just going along for the ride. She sat in the long boat next to Ragetti, as they headed for a dark cave.
Once inside, she couldn't believe all the treasure and in the middle on a mound of gold was the chest filled with golden coins, just like Barbossa had said. He took Elizabeth, and cut the palm of her hand smearing the blood on the coin, before dropping the coin in the chest.
Unfortunately, the curse wasn't lifted, finding out she was the wrong person, he back handed Elizabeth making her tumble down the back side of the mound. As all the pirates began arguing, Jack Sparrow was found in the cave and brought before Barbossa. He was about to have him killed, until he learned Jack knew who's blood they needed and took him back to the ship.
“I see you kept this one!” Jack laughed, referring to Angel.
“Aye, she's been having fun with me crew!” He laughed.
“You just couldn't wait for me, eh?” Jack asked with a smile.
