The next morning Kylie was shown to what would be her ship, and she spent the day getting used to it, setting up the controls for herself. She took it out for a few hours, enjoying the quiet that was space.
She liked the machine she’d been given to work with, the shape was sleek, the engine surprisingly quiet. She had requested there be a normal method of communication in the ship, she didn’t like the idea of using the half dead to talk to anyone, and they had done as she asked. Other then that, the ship was amazing, and great how it was.
The radio crackled, drawing her attention. “Ma’am, the Lord Marshall wishes to speak with you as soon as you return.”
She sighed, and acknowledged the request, turning the ship around and returning to the Necropolis.
She headed directly to Riddick’s rooms, as she had been told that was where she would find him.
“You wanted to talk to me?”
He was sitting silently in the dark when she got there, and it took her a moment for her eyes to adjust enough that she wouldn’t trip over the furniture.
“Do you know where Furya is?”
“Hmm? Yeah, I went there once, when I was like ten. I… let’s say I know how to get there.”
“Give them the directions as far as the outskirts of the system. After we get that far, then I’ll let you know what to do.”
He turned away from her and she shrugged, going to do as he asked.
It took them nearly a week to get to the system, and Kylie spent that time either with her ship, standing with Riddick as he dealt with Necromonger ruling, or in her room. She did not really socialize with them, though the majority of them grew to feel neutral about her, as she had not bothered them.
Finally the announcement came. “Lord, we have reached the outskirts of the system. We are now waiting further commands.”
He stood as he received the announcement, summoning Vaako, another high ranking soldier named Scales, and one of the purifiers to where he stood, Kylie only a couple steps behind him.
“I will be gone a week, maybe two. Wait here. When I return we will continue.”
They all nodded, and Riddick led Kylie to the hanger where the ship waited.
“Show me Furya.”
