Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Alia woke to sunshine and Shadow in her room. He kneeled beside her bed. Alia moved back until she saw False and the marines in the room. Rito and Myx stood in the doorway.
“Alia are you okay?”
Alia looked into Shadow’s eyes seeing that it was he and not the thing from last night.
“Yes I am okay.”
Shadow reached out and touched her face. “I did not want to hurt you like that.”
Alia smiled down at him. Shadow’s hand slid down her neck. “My intentions were to be gentle but the others were interfering with that.”
Alia closed her eyes from the sensation of his hand lightly going between her breasts. False growled at him. Shadow pulled his hand back and stood.
“I am glad you are better.”
Shadow turned and snarled at False but walked from the room.
Brian approached the bed once Rito and Myx walked away following Shadow. False soon walked after them.
“We are going to check out what Jack was doing at the ghost village today. He had to have some way of getting that DNA.” Alia nodded and got out of the bed in the short nightdress.
The male Marines were curious how much of her was human. Kayco hissed from the window.
“We’ll see you down stairs.” Brian said.
“Alright”
Shadow inspected the area where the body had been found carefully this time not worried about the reaction of the Oomans. He noticed the difference in the sound from the floor when he walked over where they body lay. He slammed his foot down hard; the board fell down through a large hole. Kayco and Eli began to rip out the other boards.
“Gear up we don’t know what is down there.”
Shadow went to Alia and gave her his blade. “I will be watching you.”
Alia took the blade. “Then I will be safe.”
Shadow breathed in deeply her scent and purred into her neck. False waited to see if he would continue but Shadow turned away and jumped down into the hole.
The torches hanging from the rock walls lit the long hallway for them. Lance and Shadow were up front ready for anything coming around the corner ahead. Marla seemed uneasy as they walked along.
“What the hell is wrong with you forget how to walk?” Joshua said moving his gun from the back of her head. “You’re in my line of fire.”
Marla moved. “Sorry Sarge.”
They came to the end of the tunnel.
“Aww Shit” Lance said lowering his gun.
Below the them it looked like a massive factory producing the serum and all of the regular army members were lined up to receive the shot. Jack and Holly were there with the General.
“What is he doing there with them?” Cal whispered to Brian.
“I hope this increase works and the side effect with Jeremy doesn’t happen again.”
Jack smiled. “Jeremy was a fluke General. This batch has given me more control over them. Think of me as a queen bee giving off chemical signals to my worker bees.”
Holly began injecting the men. Jack and the General began walking slowly behind her talking.
“What about Cal and his people have you found them yet.”
“No I’ve tried to raise them but all I get is static and the tracer was found on one of the forest creatures that live here.”
Jack sighed. “That is unfortunate.”
Holly was listening to them. Jack looked at her. “Pay attention Holly don’t want to stick yourself.”
Holly looked at Jack and then back at her the men.
The General saw the already injected men suddenly become weak and tired and began sitting down on the dirt floor.
“How long before we have total alien cells in their bodies.”
“One hour General. How will you get me what I want?”
A rock fell down from the tunnel above and they raised their heads in that direction and saw group they were discussing.
Lance looked at Marla. “What the fuck is wrong with you?”
The General was about to send his men to attack but Jack stopped him. He walked over to a pen and opened it. A huge black creature that looked like it was part wolf and part lion came from it and purred at Jack.
The group turned and ran back down the hall.
Jack stroked it’s black mane and fur. He let six more out. “Bring me the girl.”
Shadow pulled the last of the Ooman’s from the hole and they ran for their vehicle.
Lance shut the door when Shadow got in and the black armored vehicle screeched out of the village. Alia saw the forest leaves and dirt kick up in their wake.
“Lance do you see them.” Cal asked looking out the back window.
Suddenly something hit the roof. Lance turned on the computer and it applied a shock to whatever it was. The black creature fell off into one of the trees as the vehicle sped off.
Brian began swerving across the road to avoid the sizable trees that were falling. He suddenly slammed on the breaks and came to a stop. A huge tree blocked their path. Joshua climbed up into small compartment and aimed the cannon at the tree. Before he could fire, two hands burst through the vehicle on either side of Alia’s waist, pulled her out ripping a huge hole. Shadow roared, and ran out that hole after her.
Alia rolled back to her feet and began running from the six beasts chasing her. Shadow jumped on one and pulled its head back until it snapped. Alia pulled out the blade Shadow had given her. She was suddenly knocked down to the ground. Alia rolled over to her back as the creature’s teeth came down at her neck.
Lance took aim, his shot pierced the creature’s skull, and Alia pushed it off. Sal’van caught one by the mane and swung it into a tree base. Alia began scooting back on the ground as another ran at her. A long black spike pierced the creature’s stomach and it was lifted into the trees. Shadow was looking for the big one as he snapped another neck.
Alia’s scream could be heard and Shadow came running.
He saw Alia up against the tree with the blade between her and teeth. It was the biggest one. Shadow roared and tackled the lion/wolf from Alia and onto the forest floor. It squealed in pain from Shadows weight. Its claws tried to dig into Shadow’s skin but it was too tough and they broke off. Shadow ripped open the creature’s throat with his claws and then threw it into a tree.
Alia watched him stalking towards her with the same look from last night. He was growling at her as he approached. He pressed her body hard against the tree. Alia bared her neck to him as he opened his mandibles.
“Shadow” Shadow snarled at False.
“Hunt for her and bring her meat and then you can have her.”
Shadow purred into her neck and vibrations filled her already weak body. She could feel his aggression and his hardness between his legs. He smelled her fear and growled softly.
“Shadow hunt for her.”
Shadow slowly pulled away from her taking his blade and walking away to hunt. False walked towards Alia.
“Where will we go?” Cal asked.
False pointed to a cave in the grassy hill. “It will shelter us for tonight.”
Alia looked up at the cave. False purred at her.
“She does not have to mate with him.” Sal’van growled.
“She will have no choice in the matter it will be by force or willingly.”
Sal’van pulled out his blade. “Or not at all.”
Lance frowned. ‘Do you want what happened in the castle to happen again?”
“He can either be with us or we fight with him to keep him away from her.” Lance continued. He looked at Alia. “It’s your choice”
