The Mother of All Hangovers
A/N - Hello all! Sorry for the long lapse, but taking 13 hours of English classes at Concord (plus working two jobs) takes much of my time away from writing. I hope you enjoy this newest addition to Really Bad Eggs. Thanks to everyone that has reviewed!!!
A bleary-eyed Captain Jack Sparrow struggled to his feet and wound up falling almost face first on his floor. "Bugger me," he grumped as it felt like his skull was being stabbed from the inside out. He rolled over onto his back and stared up at the ceiling of his quarters, trying to will the hangover away. "Haven't drunk that much in a long time," he muttered to himself and he slowly pulled himself up and back into his bed. "Maybe a few more hours of sleep will...do..the trick," Jack felt like he was getting ready to grace the floor of his cabin with the last few meals he had consumed. "Why do I drink rum in the first place?" He groaned as he covered his eyes with the heel of his hands.
"Mebbe, you drink da rum in order to forget," came a voice from the end of his bed. Jack opened his eyes, and winced as another white-hot flash of pain laced his skull.
"Tia,...love, what the bloody hell do you think you are doing?" Jack closed his eyes again to avoid the pain that was plaguing him. He felt her come closer to him, then lift his head slightly as she pressed a cup against his lips.
"Whassit?" Jack tried to pull away, but Tia pressed the cup more
firmly against his lips.
"Stop chatting, and drink," she commanded, starting to sound irritated. Jack complied, and made a face at the unpleasant concoction that Tia made him swallow to the dregs. "Now sleep for a bit more...den you will be ready to face de day," Tia said softly, brushing one of his dreadlocks out from his face.
"What the bloody hell was that," Jack grumped as he felt a wave of sleepiness roll over him.
"You better off not knowin, but know dat it will help you rest...and see t'ing that you t'ink that you are better off ignorin," Tia said while moving from the side of his bed, and back towards the door.
"I...was afraid of that," Jack muttered as he slowly sank back down into the oblivion of sleep. Tia watched him for a second then left the captain. There was much that he had to see...and this was the only way she knew of to make him see it.
