Pain

Tyler walked into a dimly lit, but still livable, room not far down the hallway from Chase's. Lit only by a single window, it was mostly empty; the only contents being a bed, 2 chairs, and a table. He walked over to the window, leaving the door open behind him, and gazed out across the landscape. It was just an empty feild with nothing recognizable, or in sight for that matter for several miles. It was somewhat peacful really.

"He let you out?!" came a voice from across the room. Tyler jumped, and turned to see Reid sitting in a dark corner. Tyler hadnt seen him there before but was relieved to see a familiar face. "I only got up here a few hours ago, and youre already allowed to walk around.. Whats it like out there? Have you been anywhere else? Do you know how Pogue and Caleb are doing? Whats going on here?!?!! .... You wouldnt happen to have a beer would you?"

"Woah, woah, woah! Slow down man! I didnt even see you over there." Tyler smiled as he spoke, "Oh, and no, I don't. I've been in Chase's room. I still dont know why he's keeping me there. I saw Caleb, and he's basically gone completly mental. I cant stand him any more! All he does is think about himself and its just too much for me!"

"hey now, youre the one who needs to slow down now... What about Pogue?" Reid asked nonchalontly. He got up from his hideout in the corner and walked over to one of the chairs by the table.

Tyler sighed, saying, "I dont know... He can handle himself though, im not worried about him..." Tyler took the chair next to Reid, flipping it around to sit on it backwards.

"Well... what about you then..?" said Reid, looking over to Tyler, then out the window, then down to his feet on the floor. Tyler looked at him for a moment, then followed suit and stared down at his feet as well.

"I've been better.... He hasnt done anything to me, but Ive been doing alot of thinking... Some of the things that Caleb said really got to me... and i dont think i can deal with him anymore... Just the way he always tells me what to do, puts me down, tells me im not good enough. Its degrading and i feel im worth more than what i get from him..."

"Psh, yeah you are. He's always been an ass to you, it make me wanna deck him in the face...." Tyler looked at him questioningly, but Reid quickly continued, "well, uh... you know, youre my best friend and all... you know... he shouldnt treat you like that... uh.. yeah."

Tyler nodded, then looked back down to his feet. "He just feeds me lies in an attempt to pull me along like some puppy on a string or something... I never get to do anything because i'm just little baby boy Tyler.. And it's not like i can talk to Pogue about it, he just says 'oh, well, hes just trying to protect you. he does that to all of us cuz hes the oldest,' and its just a bunch of shit! You know what I mean? I just feel like i can talk to you about anything, because you'll listen in a way that the others wont... I dont know what it is but I can tell you anything really."

Reid started shifting around in his seat, unsure of what to say, then got up and gave Tyler a hug then walked over to the window and stared out at the plains. "No problem... I just care about you alot, we've been best friends forever really.."

Chase quietly closed the door, rage building up in him. He was full of jealousy for the way they could talk to eachother.how could he have forgotten to lock the door? He would have to try and get farther with him. He needed to play with something, to take his anger out somewhere, anything, so he started down the hall towards the room where he kept Pogue. What was it with these boys that kept like this so easily?
