Starting Over

CHAPTER 11 - BUSTER

UPSTAIRS *~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*


Dom wakes up and gets out of bed, he remembers about the previous night. He goes to the guest bedroom and sees that
Eva is gone, he checks on Mia and she is sound asleep. He returns to his room and is about to jump in the shower
when there's a knock at the door. He opens the door and it's Eva.

"Hiod mod morning how you feeling?" Dom says to Eva who is still holding her head.

"I'll survive.I didn't want to bother you but you got my keys" she says pointing to his night stand.

"Oh yeah let me get those for you" he gives her the keys and walks her to the end of the stairs.

"Thanks for letting me crash and tell Mia I'll call her later"

"No problem. And try to stay out of trouble" Dom says pointing a finger in her face. They both share a laugh and
she turns to leave.

"Oh by the way there's a guy outside asking for Mia, he looks like that guy in the picture in the guest room"
As they both walk out Dom sees Brian sitting on the stairs. Brian quickly gets up to meet them face to face.

"Well I guess I see you later, it was nice meeting you" Eva says to Brian going towards the driveway. Having no
idea the history between the two men.

"O'Connor............ it's been a long time" Dom says crossing his hands in front of him.

"6 months to be exact" Brian says putting his hands in his pockets not knowing what Doms reaction is going to be.

"Well I might as well get it out of the way so here it goes.............. I'm sorry for lying to you and to Mia and
to the whole team. Things kind of got complicated and I know you probably will never forgive me but I had
to try to get Mia back." Brian struggles with the words, but they're truthful and Dom knows it.

"If my sister forgives you then your welcome in my home,... Brian you saved Vinces' life and we all owe
you for that, but I have one question for you............what about the FBI?.. are you still a cop? Dom still with that
authority stand.
Brian looks down to the floor and back to Dom "Yes I'm still a cop."
Dom presses his lips together and asks, "What about me and the team are we safe?"

"The FBI wouldn't dare to come near you guys for the simple fact their little case went public and
everyone knows what a fuck up they did with that case , trust me Dom."

"Let's go inside" Dom says with a deep tone.

They walk inside and Dom can hear the shower upstairs and he knows Mia is up. They both sit in the living room talking
catching up with things. Dom knew his sister still loved Brian but it was up to her to make the decision if he stayed or left from
the team.
They both hear her feet coming downstairs.

"Dom did Eva ............." Mia looks at Brian and to her brother, she swallows hard and stays silent she doesn't know if this situation is good or bad.

"Eva said she'll call you later, I'll be upstairs .......you kids need to talk" Dom says as he kisses her forehead
and goes upstairs. Brian gets up from the sofa.

"I told you to call me" Mia said knowing she preferred to see him instead.

"I couldn't wait I needed to see you" he walks closer to her.
Mia feels her knees getting weak and gives in. She walks up to him and he grabs her into a hug picking her up.

"I missed you so much" a crying Mia says.

"Mia please forgive me I never meant to hurt you" Brian has his face buried in her hair.

"Of course I forgive you. I forgave you that night you called me" Mia says with a smile on her face.

Mia and Brian stood in the living room talking and Dom came back downstairs after taking a shower and told Mia he was
going to the shop and she agreed telling him she'd be over later.

At the shop everyone was already busy working trying to get the most done since they closed early on Saturdays. Around
11am Mia showed up with Brian.

"Hey guys" Mia says everyone still working on their assigned cars. Lisa was the first to look up.

"Hey Mia" she looked Brian over and back to Mia
Mia introduced Lisa and Brian and at the name mentioned both Leon and Vince looked up finally.

"Spilner!" Leon said enthusiastically and then realizing his mistake " Oh I mean O'Conner" Leon said scratching his
head feeling a little awkward.

"Hey Leon how you've been" Brian said knowing he didn't mean to be funny about it and Leon nodded. As Brian looked over to Vince who had a sad, regretful look on his face much to Brians surprise Vince just grab his hand and shook it hard
and seemed like he didn't want to let go.

"I'm glad to see you're alright" Brian said still surprised at Vince's reaction.

"Thanks to a buster like you, I am alright" both men smiled and Dom came over to them put his hand around Vince
neck and shook Brians hand.

"Welcome back to the family" Dom said with a sarcastic voice. Looking over to Mia who had a cheesy smile on her
face.

The rest of the day went smoothly. Brian told Mia he'd call her so they could spend some time alone. And just when they were about to close the shop, the roar of motorcycles fills the garage. Everyone looked over and saw Coco, Eva and Mini get off
the bikes. They all had on similar outfits. Coco had a denim sleeveless, short one piece with white snickers. Mini had a
denim short sleeve jacket that came about to her thighs and only the three top buttons were closed with jean shorts
underneath and with red and white snickers. Eva had a long pant denim jumper with light blue stitching and her top button
was open exposing a light blue bra and she had on some light blue Jordan snickers.
Eva had a dark blue denim

"Hey Lee you coming tonight or Dom have you working Over Time" Eva said greeting everyone as she
walked in.

"No, I'm going I just didn't know we were leaving so early" Lisa said cleaning her hands and drying them.

"Well Eva is racing tonight and she wants to get there early to see who's gonna be there" Mini said while
Vince checked her bike out. "You should come with us Vince it'll be fun" Mini says touching the back of his neck.

"Nah I should help Dom close the shop and stuff" hesitation clear in his voice.

"OK, hey Jesse you wanna come with me?" Lisa asked as Jesse blushed from her question.

"Sure I haven't been to the races in a while. "Jesse said taking off his jumper.

Dom walks over to Eva's bike and contemplates it admiring the obvious work that had been put into it.

"You have great taste, almost as good as mine" he says not taking his eyes off the bike.

"How about you?" Eva asks facing him. "What about me?" now Dom is also facing her. "Are you coming to the
races, I mean I know you don't race anymore or anything but you can just sit and watch with us" Eva says
almost like when a kid asks their parents for something.

He looks down and his eyes wonder outside "I don't think that's such a good idea"

"Oh come on, just for a little while, it would be nice if all of us are there, you know Mia is ridding with me"
she says with a wise ass smile, pointing to Mia.

"My sister is getting on a motorcycle?! With you?" Dom says as he starts to laugh pointing at Mia, he knew she
could handle a race car but a bike was a different story.

"Well I hope you change your mind I have to go and pick my car up on the way, see you guys later" Eva
turns and goes to her bike and helps Mia put her helmet on. Mia jumps on behind Eva on her bike.
Jesse goes in Lisa's CRX and they both wait for the bikes to pull off.

"Hey take care of my little sister" Dom says yelling over the bike engines, hoping Eva can hear him. Eva does a
soldier salute and Mia waves, as Evas pulls out first as the rest of the bikes follow her and Lisa behind them.
Vince walks over to Dom still looking down the street and they both stand in silence until Vince says,
"Are you coming in my car or yours"

"Mines let''s go" Dom says as he goes for his keys telling Vince they need to stop at the house to get
cleaned up first.

"Off to the races we go" Leon says as he pulls off behind Dom and Vince.
