Down Time
At the Toretto residence the guys are taking all the bags and the grill to the car while the girls are getting ready. Coco and Lisa always came to Eva's house to get ready, just because Leon and Jessie are there. They all need this day off from work, school and wedding planning "“ a day just for them to chill. It took a little convincing from Dom to make Vince go but he was feeling much better today and needed this day to kick back as well.
Mia decides to wear a black & white bikini with matching sarong and black thong sandals. Coco wears an all white bathing suit with jean shorts and white sandals. Lisa decides on a low-rise bikini and halter-top. Eva chooses her Hawaiian bikini with boy shorts and halter-top with a white mesh palazzo pants. They pair off on their way to the beach and meet by the park next to the boardwalk. Once there Dom gets the grill going while Vince and Leon set up the tables. Jessie and Lisa waste no time and start playing Frisbee. Eva is on her phone talking to Gloria making sure what time and flight Erica will be arriving on. Mia and Brian are cuddled up on the blanket on the floor.
"Don't they just make you sick sometimes" Coco says to Leon with a disgusted face.
"I think it's sweet" he responds nonchalant as he always did.
"Hey Leon take over for a minute" Dom yells referring to the food on the grill. He walks up to Eva and takes her hand.
"Let's go for a walk," Dom says with a serious tone. Lisa gives Eva a look, like she's a child who's in trouble. The make their way through the park holding hands - Eva spots the swings and runt to them sitting on one.
"Push me?" she smiles childishly. Dom complies, taking the opportunity to grab her as from behind. Eva giggles and squirms at his touch.
"So what's on you mind Mr. Toretto?" Eva asks. Dom abruptly stops the swing and turns her around to face him.
"I may not know exactly what's going on with Vince and Mini but I know what you're up to." His eyebrows raised.
"I have no idea what your talking about" she says in a surprised tone, clutching her chest.
"I bet you don't know where Letty is either" he crosses his arms in front of him.
"Nope" Eva grins and bites her bottom lip.
"I just hope that whatever is you have up your sleeve, doesn't get anyone killed today." He spins her around until she's squealing and dizzy "Race you to the water" Dom begins to run towards the beach.
"No fair, I'm dizzy as hell" Eva stumbles side ways trying to catch up to Dom while he laughs all the way to the water.
In the water Vince, Jessie, Lisa, Mia and Brain join them. Dom kept picking up Jessie and slamming him in the water. The girls gang up on Brian and try to drown him "“ all the while Vince kept screaming "Officer down!" the laughter can be heard all the way to their spot on the park.
"How did I get stuck cooking?" Leon asks with a piece of chicken in his mouth, Coco giggles looking at him.
"You was suckered baby, but I gotta admit you look good in a apron" Coco says flirtatiously.
"Real funny" he responds "“ he glances behind Coco and signals for her to look. Letty and Mini arrive with bags and towels in their hands.
"Hey girl, glad you could make it... Mini" Coco stands up and takes over the grill. Leon happily lets her take charge. He nods to both women and leaves to the water, he feels the tension brewing. Mini shrugs at Coco's comment and chooses a spot to lay her blanket.
"Where is everybody?" Letty asks taking off her short, exposing her bathing suit.
"They're in the water" Coco responds.
"Well catch ya later" Letty dashes towards the water to join the others. Mini stands and begins to open the packages of paper plates, cups and utensils. She looks towards Coco and warily asks, "Need any help with that?" Coco signals for the plates and Mini passes them over to her, helping serve and set up the table for when everyone returned. For the moment neither one of them is engaging in long conversation.
Mia waves to Letty when she sees her. Vince looks towards their spot and catches a glimpse of Mini "“ his throat tightens and his heart beats faster. He can feel his face flush from anger. Somehow he knew Letty and Eva had planned this, but why? "“ He didn't need this right now. Today is supposed to be for down time, but with her here it was going to be everything but. "˜Easy coyote, no need to blow your top.'
