A Predator Halloween

Chapter 11

It was a tense few moments, as D’Gon stood in front of the young female. She didn’t have so much as a scratch on her skin. Her eyes were locked with his through his mask, a look of total bewilderment on her face. D’Gon carefully reached for her left arm, tearing a hole in the sleeve at her elbow, and gently rubbed his thumb over her tattoo. “I remember when I gave this to you,” he said gently. “Never let it be hidden. Alright?” Somewhere she found her sense of movement, and slowly reached to his mask. Tender fingers traced the inverted crescent over and over. He nodded to her, “Yes. It was me.” She smiled, nearly in tears. “No, no, don’t do that.” He eased, catching her tears before they fell from her eyes. “You are safe with me. Do you understand?” She nodded vigorously. “Are you angry with me?” She shook her head no. “They why do you not speak?” She smiled, even laughed a little, trying to make a sound, but her voice was just lost to gasps of excited breath. “Calm your heart, before it bursts from your chest like a Z’skvy-de.”

He heard the two other hunters behind him chuckle. A moment later she found her voice. “What is that?” she asked, taking his hand in hers.

“You will never experience it, I promise. But for now, know this. You are safe. And we will be leaving soon.”

“Not without me you’re not.” He thrust his chest out with pride. Even her statement was fact. She was going with him. She’d decided that all on her own. She stopped him as he went to return to the table. “Please, I want to tell you something.”

“It can wait. This must be settled.”

“No it can’t. I’ve been waiting years to say it, and I’m going to say it, before I lose my voice.” He cupped her face in his hands, gliding his thumbs over her trembling lower lip to still it. He purred slightly in question, but it must have been too low for the translators in the room to pick up. “Thank you,” she cried into his hands, clutching his wrists, her very touch begging him not to let go. “Thank you…for saving me.” D’Gon gathered her into his arms, pressing his massive chest to her cheek. He felt her arms go around his waist, pulling him to her as hard as she could.

His heart pound in her ear like thunder, it was so strong. His smell was more pronounced, as though he’d just come in from the rain. One hand rested in her hair, as the other trailed down her back. How he wished he could throw her down and take her again. And he could tell from her scent, and her movements, that she wanted him too. But now was not the time. The interfering Askard was watching, and those annoying oomans were tapping their spindly little fingers on the table. There would be time, and lots of it. He would take her from this world, shield her on his ship, and teach her the warrior’s way of being strong, and fill her with his seed every night.

Gently he pushed her off him, though his heart ached as her skin left his. She pulled the sleeve of her gown over her hand, and wiped her eyes and face of her tears. “I’m sorry,” she said, as she wiped his chest of her tears. He took her hand in his tow large ones.

“You’ve nothing to be sorry about. This,” and he gestured around him, “is not your fault. Come; sit with my clan and I. This will not take long.”

“One more thing,” she said, preventing him from moving. “What is your name?”

Again he thrust his chest to her, and she smiled, he could tell she liked the way his muscles bulged beneath his skin. “I am D’Gon, son of Ra’na and Kor’tk.” She saw the pride in his body as he named his parents, though they had no meaning to her, she was glad she knew them. “Come.”

She nodded and joined him at the table. At D’Gon’s insistence, Tya sat down between him and Val’Roch. To be sure the young hunter didn’t get any ideas however, he tugged her chair closer to him, causing a loud screech on the floor, and the girl to cry out in laughter. Then she looked across the table to see Carter, and her eyes went dark again.

“Are you alright?” Carter asked.

Not that Tya would answer, but still she would not have had the chance. D’Gon slammed his fists down on the table, dinting it in front of him, as he roared back at Carter. Carter jumped nearly three feet off her chair. “YOU WILL NOT SPEAK!!!”

“Calm yourself now D’Gon,” Thor warned. “As her friend, Major Carter has every right to enquire about the young woman’s condition.”

“No friend would allow the Gou’uld and their guard to enter her home, to infest a friend. If indeed she knows what that word means.”

“What are you talking about? What Gou’uld? There are no Gou’uld on our planet” Carter shot back, just as bitterly. “And as for Teal’c, he no more serves the Gou’uld than you do.”

“You Lie! Dishonourable ooman!” Val’Roch loudly stated, and turned his attention to Raz’Bett, then to Thor. “I personally observed this female, parading around with one Gou’uld, many times. Then earlier this ooman day, she appeared with two. Even welcomed them to her home when they arrived. You lie ooman! Do not hide truth from us!”

“Oh my god, the Toc’Ra. General, Thor, they think the Toc’Ra are Gou’uld.”

“There were Toc’Ra on your world?”

“Yes. My father came to visit. To help us recover a ZPM. He said there was another Toc’Ra that could help us, and sent for him. That’s when To’ma arrived. This one killed To’ma, the symbiote almost didn’t survive.”

“Where are they now?”

“Jacob Carter is at the SGC,” Hammond announced. “Kevin is there too, the symbiote entered into Kevin to survive.”

Thor moved more crystals on his panel, and the flash appeared again. This time, Jacob and Kevin were standing behind Teal’c and Daniel. A moment later two more chairs appeared, for the pair to sit. Kevin did not. At once he advanced on the table, and glared across at the hunter who sat on the other side. “It is not enough that you brutally rape one of my past hosts,” his voice echoed from his chest, “than you kill a young man for no reason!”

“Keven, Ler’tez, please, it’s alright,” Hammond said, grabbing the flying fist of the man. “They’re not going to hurt you.” Carter went to Kevin and helped him sit, as he bowed his head, then looked up again.

“Oh god!” the man staggered. “That was a head rush.”

“Kevin, are you ok?” Carter asked as she sat him down.

“Yeah. CRIST that hurt.”

“Watch your language.”

“Quoting your deities will not save you. And will not dissuade what is right.”

Carter just looked at D’Gon as he gloated from his seat. Tya seeming to sit like some transfixed zombie. She then returned her attention to Kevin. “What happened?”

“Ler’tez is seriously pissed off. I’ve never felt anger like that.”

“Well do what you can to calm him down. Remember, the symbiote draws its strength of mind from you. And you need to be strong enough to control the flood of new emotions from lifetimes of hosts before you.”

“Now you tell me.”

“Major Carter, please return to your seat.” Carter nodded to Thor, and Teal’c nodded to her, an assurance in his eyes that he would watch over her intended. Carter retook her seat, looking back to Tya, who still did not answer her question. “Thank you. General Hammond, may I see those files.”

“Of course. The first is a police report, of a 14 year old, Tya Reese, who was lost in the woods at Seven Falls. She reported to the police that she had been abducted by four military cadets, who were also camping at the campground near her girl guides camp site - ”

“Thank you, I can read the report, faster than you can recite it. And the other?”

“A military investigation on the disappearance of four cadets, at the same time, found dead in a thicket. All were beaten and their heads missing.”

“The dishonoured shall not be known in the afterlife,” D’Gon stated. “To gaze upon the bountiful hunting grounds is only for the honoured fallen.”

“Please,” Thor stated, as he compared the two reports. “Miss Reese, please, what happened?”

“Why should I tell you?” she said, glaring at Hammond. “They never believed me then. They thought I had something to do with the cadets’ murders. I told the truth then, even under lie detectors, still they didn’t believe me.”

“There was no evidence?”

“No,” she stated quietly, then with a smile she turned to D’Gon. “What ever D’Gon and his people did, it removed all my wounds, there weren’t any scars, there was noting to say I had been raped by four teens. I didn’t even become pregnant from the attack. They accused me of lying. They tried to prove I was an accessory to the murders. When I asked them if they found my clothes where they found the bodies, they said no.”

“Why?” Thor asked, looking over the photos of the dead cadets.

“I don’t know. I’m pretty sure there was a fire going, but I can’t be sure. They punched me in the face so many times, it was hard to see. I do remember, looking down the barrel of…” she clenched her fists over the table, remembering the black cylinder that had been shoved in her face. D’Gon took her trembling hands in one of his, the other snaked around her shoulders applying reassuring pressure to her shoulder and neck. She nodded to him in thanks. “…of the gun…after they used their knives to cut my arms and legs, and stomach. They tried to kill me, cause they knew I’d go to their C.O. and report what happened. I was too stubborn to die, so one of them pulled out a gun and pointed it at my head.” She wiped her sleeve over her eyes, before succumbing to fits of tears and haggard cries.

D’Gon continued. “No fear Child Maker. No fear.” As he cradled her head to his chest he turned to Carter’s cynical stare. “The bad unblood you had there, decided that to have her die that way, was too honourable. He placed the end of his weapon inside of her, and began to pull the trigger.” Carter shifted in her seat. She knew what he meant. “I would not allow her to die that way. So I threw my spear, and killed him. The female was wounded in the process. I then dispatched the rest of them accordingly, taking their heads.”

“Please understand General Hammond,” Thor said after a moment. “Their heads would be turned into trophies.”

“Not those ones.” D’Gon stated flatly, as he helped Tya regain her composure, through gentle caresses to her face. “I berried their heads deep in the ground. Never to be found.”

“Where?” Hammond demanded.

“I’d never tell you. To reunite their heads with their bodies, would bring a greater dishonour to this female.”

“Tya, actually,” Daniel spoke up. D’Gon glared at the scrawny ooman as he stood at the table between Carter and the other male. “Her name is Tya Reese.”

D’Gon just cocked his head to one side, curiously. “Are you challenging me for her little ooman?”

Daniel felt himself shift on his feet. “If I have to,” he stated.

D’Gon rose from his seat, and calmly walked around the table until he stood directly next to Daniel. He looked the little man up and down, then to Tya and back. “You want her? Don’t you?” he asked. The little ooman would never survive. He was barley five feet tall, while he was a full seven foot two, and still growing. He could snap the ooman’s neck without even straining for breath.

Tya hid her face with her hand. She couldn’t believe what Daniel was about to say. If he had a chance to say anything. Daniel just nodded, his voice caught in his throat. D’Gon grunted loudly, almost like a bark, and Daniel jumped. D’Gon then chuckled as he returned to his seat, rubbing his hand up and down Tya’s back. “You can’t even stand up to me,” he laughed. “How do you expect to handle a female like her? She is far too spirited for you, far too weary of ooman males. You would not know how to tame her. You would not know how to begin to pleasure her.”

Daniel blushed brightly. “Perhaps not right away, but I can figure that out.”

“No,” D’Gon stated. “You would not. Take back your challenge, before you too are dead.”

“There will be no challenges here,” Thor stated, as he finished going over the photos and reports. “You will sit down Daniel Jackson. The girl will remain under the protectorate of the Askard. You D’Gon, will return her to her world.”

“I will NOT!”

“Stop it!!!” Tya screeched, standing up and moving to Thor as she snatched the files and photos from the tiny grey fingers. “You think that this is going to change anything!? They wont believe me! The only one who helped me eight years ago, is sitting right there. He came back for some reason, and what ever that reason is, I’m glad he did. Now this should be my choice. I should decide what happens to me, not you. I don’t want to stay on Earth. I’m scared to death every where I go. I look for people that are leering at me, I walk around with a purse full of stun guns and mace, I go jogging in very public places, and get people whistling at me. I want to feel safe when I walk out of my house. And until recently, that didn’t happen.” She looked at Kevin, then to Carter. “You never told me you were military, you boyfriend’s a cop. I saw his gun.” She looked at Thor. “Do you have any idea what kind of agonizing fear ran through me when that happened? I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I ran to a park, a deserted park, and hid in the top of the play structure. I was so scared. I couldn’t stop shaking. All I wanted - ” and she clutched at her tattoo, “was for him to come back.”

D’gon brought her to his lap, as she tried not to cry once more. “When I woke up, all those years ago. I was in pain. I know I was. But I can’t remember feeling it. What I do remember, are the soft hands that tended to my wounds. I can’t imagine the embarrassed physicians they had with them. Having to fix the tears in my skin down there. They could have left me to die, but they didn’t. They took care of me. No questions. And they returned me safe and sound, albeit naked, with this little tattoo as a reminder that it was real.”

She looked at Kevin. “I asked the doctors to send in the cops, so I could tell them my story. I remember the lady cop outside my room, after taking my statement. She was next to her partner, talking to the doctor. He told them that I was lying, that there was no evidence to back up my story. She looked to her partner, and laughed. Saying they wasted their time, on a two faced teenager who can’t admit that she got lost in the woods. Have you any idea how that felt?”

Kevin just lowered his head. Tya continued, turning her attention to Carter. “Then the MPs came. Wanted to know what my connection was to four dead cadets.” She slid the pictures across the table. “They showed those to me. Wanted me to tell them who killed them. Accused me of being an accessory. I went through months of investigation. I went through four different lie detector tests, I got kicked out of my girl guides unit because I broke the cardinal rule of never telling a lie. I spent years trying to find someone to believe me. I went to therapists. All they could figure out was that somewhere, in this mixed up teen there was a fear so great that she blocked it out…at the sight of a gun pointed at her head.”

She looked over at Hammond. “They said I made it all up. So after a while, I just stayed quiet. And they left me alone. I tried to live a normal life, but its hard to do that, when the ones who are sworn to serve and protect, to defend a city, or a country, abandon one of their own when she needs them most. I had no sense of security. There were no authorities that would protect me if I needed help. So forgive me, if I choose to leave the planet.”

Teal’s could not help but feel sorry for the people around him. Never had they been torn down so much. But the tiny slip of a girl had every right to yell at them the way she had. The authorities that they represent let her down, and now they were trying to enforce the rules over her that they had stripped away years ago, and left her helpless. He couldn’t put right what was done in the past, he wasn’t there at the time. Perhaps they could make things right by allowing her request. Teal’c stood. “Thor, forgive my interruption.”

“Yes, Teal’c?”

“I believe the Askard have no jurisdiction over this matter.”

“What?” Hammond turned to look at his adopted officer.

“Miss Reese, am I correct in recalling, the incident happened eight years ago, as you said?”

“Yes. I was 14 at the time, I’m 22 now. Eight years have passed. What’s your point?”

“My point is this. I did not join the SGC until seven years ago. The Askard did not begin their protection over this planet until five years ago. The claim D’Gon has over you, supersedes both these incidents. The Askard have no right to deny the claim. They have no choice but to allow you to leave with him.”

“Teal’c is correct,” Thor stated, as he turned to the girl, still seated safely in D’Gon’s lap. “The girl was claimed before the agreement between the Gou’uld, the Askard, and Earth. The Yautja do have observation rights to the planet, if this had happened during that agreement, I could put a stop to it. But sense it did not, I can only facilitate the departure of the hunters. They did not violate the agreement. Which states, they may visit the planet, observe the humans, but never again to hunt them. They may hunt the animals for food, and upon their departure, everything that is theirs goes with them.” The grey alien pointed to the tattoo on Tya’s arm. “That mark identifies you as the property of D’Gon and his clan. Though I do not condone slavery, it is a mark and meaning of which I cannot ignore. General Hammond. I am sorry. My hands, as you say, are tied.”

“There is still the matter of the challenge?” O’Neil quipped. “She can’t go anywhere if the challeng is successful.”

“Such a challenge would be worthy,” D’Gon stated, as he stood, looking across the table. “If the female in question were to become my mate. As it stands, she is my property, and you have nothing of value to which to trade for her.”

“You can’t be serious!” O’Neil gasped, watching as D’Gon got up, and stood behind her chair.

“Tya, you can’t do this,” Carter said, looking at her friend. “You’d be a slave to him.”

“At lease I’d be a slave that is safe. I didn’t want to come to your party Carter, I was scared to death to do it. But I had to. I knew he was there, I knew he’d help me if things got out of hand. And things were about to when those two and the other one, started closing in on me.” She pointed to Jacob and Teal’c.

“I am sorry,” Jacob offered. “I, and Selmac were curious about your tattoo. We moved closer cause the warm draft from the house was where you were standing. And if you didn’t notice, it was cold out.”

Tya thought for a moment. “Actually, I didn’t notice.”

“You’re kidding! The dress you were wearing was hanging by string. You had to be cold.”

She shook her head as D’Gon chuckled before speaking. “It was my bead cover. I brought it as a parting gift, but when I’d heard Gou’ld were on the planet, there was no way I would leave her there. I was trying to find a way to take her with me, without her being afraid, or raising suspicion. My father made clothing for my mother, in addition to hunting and gaining trophies to impress her with his skill and strength. He said there was more to keeping a female than just honour and mating. I made the dress especially for her. And despite its condition when she was brought here, I want it returned Askard.” Thor nodded. “The material is very light, but will keep a body warm, even in your polar ice storms. She would never have known the temperature outside. If what you say of the building’s heat being the reason for your advance upon her, than I apologise for attacking you. Still there is the matter of the Gou’uld in your head.”

Jacob bowed his head, then looked up, only it was Selmac who responded. “The Toc’Ra are not like the Gou’uld. We are a similar species yes, but our Queen Igeria taught her young long ago, that the ways of the Gou’uld were evil, and we have spent centuries fighting them. We blend openly with our hosts, and share the body. Each has control whenever they wish it, but we do not impose our will over that of the host. We are allies to the Humans, and there are also many Jafa who fight against their Gou’uld Masters. I hope that we can come to an understanding, perhaps even work together to bring an end to the Gou’uld.”

For the first time during the proceedings, Raz’Bett spoke up. “I will take that information to the Elder High Council. I will return to this planet with their response, though I cannot make any promises of their response.”

“Thank you. Also,” he turned to Teal’c. “Many Jafa that work with us, are using a medicine called Trutonin. It helps them survive without a symbiote. You say D’Gon, that you can see the Symbiot inside this body, please, look at Teal’c, and see for yourself.” All three hunters turned their eyes to the Gou’uld guard, shifting through the different scans, carfully, searching for the offending creature that would lay within. The three turned to each other and nodded.

“Interesting,” Raz’Bett said. “And all Jafa that aid your cause are like this?”

“Many, but not all. Those that are not, remain with their masters, to help identify those who would fight against the Gou’uld, to increase our numbers, they require the symbiote to maintain their cover. They also keep an eye on what the system lords are doing, so that we can be aware of their movements and plans.”

“Very well. I will tell the council this as well.”

“Tya,” Carter said quietly. “Are you sure this is what you want?”

“Yes,” she replied, without hesitation.

“There is one thing,” Ler’tez stated, raising Kevin’s body from his seat. “It happened years ago, but I want to know the identity of the hunter, who bore this symbol on his head.” He turned over one of the picutes, and drew on the back, then showing it to D’Gon. Tya looked on as he passed it to Val’Roch, then to Raz’Bett.

The symbol was like hers, a reverse crescent with a dash in the middle of the two points, but this one also had another mark, a haggard circle around it. Raz’Bett looked at the page, shifting through the scans to find the one to allow the paper to disappear, but the image drawn on it to remain. He then grunted and let the paper fall to the table. “A Bad Blood,” was all he said.

“Which Bad Blood?” Ler’tez demanded.

“A dead one. Bad Bloods are the dishonoured of our kind. They are hunted like prey. If you were attacked by one, rest assured, it died not long after.”

Kevin suddenly fell to the floor. Carter and O’Neil helped him up. “Oh man, I think the Tok’Ra just fainted.”

“What do you mean?” Jacob asked.

“Well, one minute Ler’tez was there, controlling my body, the next he just vanished. I can feel him, crying. Or something...”

“I can handle this,” Jacob assured. “You guys handle them.”

Carter turned to Tya, as she looked on dispassionately. Carter went over to her to explain. “The symbiote was blended with a female Tok’Ra, years ago. On a mission the hunter found her, and raped her. She didn’t survive, almost didn’t escape. She made it home to complete her mission. After she died, the symbiote was blended with someone else. I guess it never really got over it.”

Tya turned to Carter, a distant but understanding look in her eyes. “Than now you know how I felt. Dieing inside when no one would believe me. If the symbiote as you say, remembers everything that happened to the host, then Kevin now has a very unique experience to draw on. When next he comes across a 14 year old who says she was raped, he’ll think twice before laughing along with his partner.”

“I have one question for you,” Carter stated, crossing her arms. “What are you going to tell your mother? Or did you just expect to disappear, and your family accuse me of your disappearance.”

Tya looked at her. “Make something up. It’s very convenient for the military to believe or not believe something, to cover their own asses.” D’Gon then pushed his way between the two. As much as his people enjoyed watching two females fight together, to prove who would be the better breeder, he wasn’t interested in Carter, and would not risk his female injury, should either of them attack the other.

Hammond was the one who brought their attention away from any possible argument. “Miss Reese, would it be possible for you to act on behalf of the people of earth, during your time with the Yautja?”

“Put a female in politics! Are you mad!?” D’Gon nearly roared his mask right off his face.

“She could be a liaison to her own people. If you have contact with humans around the galaxy, be sure to look for this symbol.” He pulled the SGC badge from its velcro mounting on O’Neil’s shoulder, and slid it across to Tya. “If any of them, have that symbol on them, in any way, take them to see Tya. She can keep things calm between you, while you all complete whatever missions or errands you happen to be on.”

“Females are not permitted in Yautja politics!” Raz’Bett stated loudly. “Their scent disrupts the proceedings. Males who have come together to settle matters peacefully, would only erupt into chaos, as hormones rage and males posture for her attentions.”

“Not only that,” Tya stated. “An honest human can’t last long in politics. They have to make too many compromises against their own beliefs to accommodate the greed of those they have to deal with. That’s why politics today is such a mess. Too much greed, not enough working together.” She turned her attention to Raz’Bett. “I would ask however, if I have the right to, that the Elder High Council be aware of this symbol. So that in the travels of the Yautja, should they meet them again, that they know they may be reasoned with. I’m sure that if a team from earth were to be encountered by hunters elsewhere, and killed, the Askard would be seriously upset, and seek justice from the Yautja.”

Raz’Bett looked at Tya very carefully. “Are you certain you have not been involved in negotiations before?”

“No, just trying to keep order over to younger siblings. Sometimes, a little negotiating with them, goes a long way.”

Raz’Bett nodded his head, and Val’Roch passed the crest to the elder, who secured it beneath his armour plating. “If there is nothing else to be discussed, I will take my hunters, and their possessions, back to my ship. We have finished our business on the blue planet, we will be leaving.”

“Of course.” Thor stated, stepping down from his chair. “Tya there are a few things I would like to give you before you go. They may aid you in your time with the Yautja. I hope that you do not mind D’Gon.”

“I do not. There is very little a non sexed alien can do to dissuade this female from my side.” He again tapped his tusks against the inside of his mask, pressing it playfully to the nape of her neck. She smiled, then began to laugh at the feelings that erupted inside her body. “Go. Return quickly.” She nodded and followed the alien out the door.

D’Gon turned to see that they had been left alone with the oomans. The sense of wanting to hunt came over him quickly, but before he could growl his anticipation, a flash of light burst into the room, and when it cleared, the oomans, and table and chairs, were gone. “Oh well,” stated Raz’Bett. “That could have been fun.” He shook the younger one’s shoulder. “Come, we will wait for you on the ship.” D’Gon nodded, and watched them leave. He couldn’t wait to depart either. There was much he wanted to show his female. Namely his face. He wanted to be sure, before they left her solar system, that she truly accepted him.
