The Coming of the Queen

CHAPTER 11- MEETING WITH THE ELDERS.

Mohave Desert – California

“Welcome to our humble home Master Lexus!”

“It’s an honour for me to be in your presence, Marius” Lexus said making a bow.

“The others will join us shortly… I take it you have something of importance to tell us, you’ve never came here before!” Marius said escorting Lexus to the main hall. Lexus stopped at his tracks looking at the family tree in the wall and to Maharet’s stone statue.

“She still asleep!” Lexus said.

“Yes… I don’t think she will be able to wake up anymore, that sad ness’ us deeply!” Marius sighed.

“Yes… she was a great woman!” Five figures came from every corner of the hall and joined the two men.

“Here they are! All here as you’ve requested Lexus!” Marius said introducing them. “You probably heard about us all but never saw us in person, that’s Lestat, Jesse his eternal companion, David my long life admirer, Armand and Kayman.”

“It’s an honour to finally meet you all! Can we please go some where comfortable, I need your wise advice on something I’m suspecting.”

“Of course!” Lestat replied. The Elder appeared all to be very calm, but somehow they were hedgy with something.

They moved into a huge parlour with a big mahogany table at the centre surrounded by chairs, each took its seat and Lexus waited for his turn to sit down with them.

“Speak my friend” Marius urged.

“Well… I’ve encountered a presence… a very strong presence… Well it wasn’t really me it was my good friend Chupa… I trust you’ve heard of him?” Lexus asked looking at the Elders.

“The vampire gladiator… as we call him!” Jesse said “Of course we know who he is, we have been protecting him…!” Lexus looked at her inquisitive.

“Protecting Chupa? From what? He is a bad ass vampire! Even I’m scared of him sometimes!”

The Elders laughed.

“From the Daywalker…! He survived the Reaper attack with our help, and we’ve pulled a few strings to protect him from Blade!” David replied.

“Why?” Lexus asked

“Well he is a very important asset to the vampire nation!” Jesse simply replied. Lexus took it, he new she wasn’t going to tell him more.

“What Troubles you?” Kayman finally asked.

“Chupa found this presence…. She drowned him to her, well she is drowning everyone to her, even I had to fight the felling of going to her, when I dropped around central park to see her… as I had agreed with Chupa that I would go see this creature that had bewitched him, scared off Blade… and made an impression on Danz, one of my children!” Lexus told them.

“Hum… and what troubles you about her…?” Marius asked

“What troubles me is that she is HUMAN!!!” Lexus said. The Elders opened their eyes wide. They had felt a shift in the vampire nation’s energy, but they were far from suspecting it was coming from a human.

“A HUMAN!” Lestat said loud.

“Yes, Lestat… It got me wondering if…!” All Elders eyes were on him.

“No it can’t be…!” Lestat said sensing Lexus thoughts.

“We killed her!” Came out from Armand that kept silent throughout the whole conversation.

Marius looked at Lexus. Lexus was an old vampire, he belonged there with the Elders, Pandora had embraced him, but he chose to live amongst the other vampires. He was as wise as Marius, but kept it to himself.

“What do you mean brother Lexus?” Marius finally said.

“You know what I meant Marius, you all should know…the vampire nation is running amok, we face dangers we’ve never faced before…!”

“You mean Blade!” Marius said and Lexus nodded in agreement.

“What are you talking about?” Lestat asked inpatient.

“In due time Lestat, some secrets must be kept secret until they reveal themselves to the world!” Marius said. All Elders were confused, they knew that something was going to happen, that something was coming… but what??

“Lexus…!” Marius said to his friend “Go back… Chupa needs you… she will need you… as for Blade, you said he was taken by her… energy?”

“Don’t worry about Blade, he swore to protect her… funny isn’t it, Chupa and him kind off teamed up to protect this human!” Marius laughed “The worst hard-headed vampires protecting her… Whow! I wish I could see that!”

“That’s exactly what I thought!” Lexus replied smiling. “Chupa’s Angel…!” Lexus laughed.

“Angel?!” They said

“Yes that’s the name of this human girl!” Marius dropped his jaw. Lexus looked at him narrowing his eyes.

“You have to go… now!” Marius ordered. They all get up with Marius.

“So, am I right?” Lexus simply asked.

“Let’s hope you are!” Marius said holding Lexus arm, walking with him outside.

“Funny thing is…” They all stopped at their track and looked at Lexus.

“What?” Jesse asked

“She’s got your Journal Lestat!” Lexus said looking to Lestat

“What?!?! How?” Lestat was too close to a rage attack.

“According to Chupa, she doesn’t know… she works in a public library, all of a sudden, one day it was there and she took it home!”

“Does she know about us? I mean not from the books, but… you know what I mean!” David said.

“I think she knows more about us, then she lets out, if she believes that we exist, that’s a different story… but if she feels about Chupa the way he feels about her… he wont be able to hide it any longer!” Lexus sighed

“I just hope everything turns out to be ok… I love Chupa like a brother and I would hate to loose him, he tried to let her alone… but it was stronger then him, I just hope he knows what he is doing, my coven is not safe for him anymore, our kind think he is betraying us by walking around with Angel…!”

“Everything will turn out fine… trust your friend Chupa… he doesn’t know where he is going… but he will get where he is supposed to go!” And with those wise words out of Marius lips Lexus felt more reassured.

They said their goodbyes and Marius took Lexus to a resting place.

“Rest now my friend, tomorrow night you’ll return home!” Lexus was left alone to his thoughts.
