Chapter Ten:
'He calls her the chocolate girl,
because he thinks she melts when he touches her.
She knows she's the chocolate girl,
Because she's broken up and swallowed,
and wrapped in bits of silver'
- 'Chocolate Girl' by Deacon Blue
"Its been two hours!"
"You can't blame me..."
"I can!"
Elizabeth slumped down upon a wooden crate.
She refused to move any further in the blinding heat, her legs feeling weak and her face feeling the burn from the beaming sun.
"She has a point, Jack" Gibbs told his Captain, sounding tired and out of breath.
They had walked in circles for almost two hours around the City of Mount Abu, following Jacks supposed 'trail' that would lead them into something that he wanted very much...
But that was two hours ago, and now Elizabeth and Gibbs were growing very tired.
She now wished that she had stayed behind with the rest of the crew...atleast there she wouldn't have been taken on a wild goose-chase.
"I can still feel it!" Jack told them, looking around him hopefully.
The three of them had taken refuge in a small back-street alley, away from the market crowds and seeking the slight shade that the stone buildings had to offer them.
"You'll be feeling something else in a minute, if you do not shut your mouth" Elizabeth told him warningly.
Jack looked over at her. "You know, for someone who should be grateful that I rescued her...you're not grateful at all"
"I probably would have been better off staying at the Kautilya..." Elizabeth said to herself begrudginly.
Jack glared over at her, but ignored her statement.
"I think we should go in....." Jack turned 360 degrees before thinking of his answer "...That direction" He told them, pointing East.
Gibbs groaned. "We've been down there...thats the place where you harassed the little old lady in the middle of the street because you thought she was cursing you"
"Well" Jack told him. "She looked like a witch to me"
"Just give up" Elizabeth told him scornfully. "We're not in any place that will help you find this 'T'hak Mahara'...obviously you were either never meant to find it, or we're in the completely wrong place"
Just as Elizabeth said this, a great gust of wind blew up the back alley that they were occuping, bringing the dust from the floor up and almost choking the three of them.
Elizabeth stood up, angry as hell.
"THAT IS IT!" She shouted, wiping her eyes which were full of dust. "I cannot take this anymore! Its dirty, it smells and its far too hott to be trapesing around all day, looking for something that might not even be real!"
As she looked over at the two men, she noticed that they were not even listening to her.
"Oh...well thats just fabulous! I'm being ignored now as well, am I?"
Jack looked over at her, looking slightly confused. "Sorry, what did you say?"
Elizabeth closed her eyes and counted to ten.
"Can you see that?" Gibbs asked Jack quietly, looking above them at the place where Elizabeth had found the two men staring not moments ago.
Jack nodded at his first mate. "I certainly can..." He then looked over at Elizabeth, grinned wildly. "Who said I won't find what I'm looking for, eh?"
Elizabeth followed both men's gaze.
High above the small windows of the stone buildings that they were sitting in between...just past the washing line that belonged to a citizen living in one of the appartments above....
High up, almost out of sight....
There it was.
"It's a shack" Elizabeth told them sarcastically.
"Your point being?" Jack asked her.
"Its a shack on top of a building...." She told him, the tone in her voice sounding deadpan.
"And?" Gibbs asked her, not taking his eyes off of its target.
Elizabeth rolled her eyes. "Its a shack on top of a building and it is high up in the sky...what could you possibly want with that?"
Jack smiled at her.
"There's plenty I could possibly want with that..."
Elizabeth crossed her arms over her chest and started tapping her foot impatiently.
"Like what?"
Jack and Gibbs looked at eachother, smirking slightly.
"Jarafed?" Gibbs asked, almost knowing the answer.
Jack nodded, looking back up at the Shack.
"Jarafed"

Climbing was never easy.
After Elizabeth learning that they were going to have to climb the stairs inside the building to get all the way to the top...the two Pirates had STILL not managed to explain to her exactly what was going on.
"Who is Jarafed?" Elizabeth asked them both, looking upwards at the stairs before her.
They were never ending.
"He's a mate" Jack told her.
"But you do not have any 'mates' in India..."
Jack, who was walking up the stairs a few steps infront of her, turned on his heel.
"I was mistaken" He told her, his voice that of annoyance.
Elizabeth began to seeth with anger.
"Why do you have to keep lying to me?" She asked him, trying to quicken up her pace to catch up with both Jack and Gibbs.
"Why do you keep asking irritating questions?" Jack asked her.
Gibbs chuckled.
"I wouldn't be asking stupid questions if you weren't being irritatingly ignorant!"
Jack stopped.
He looked over at Gibbs, who gave him a brief nod...almost like a go ahead.
When Jack turned around to face Elizabeth, he held the air and grace of a wise old man beginning to tell a story.
"We are climbing these stairs to see a dear old friend whom I had believed to be dead for quite some time now." He told her simply. "I know that he is here because I helped him build that Shack on the top of the building...and I know for a fact that he may have some interesting information for me"
After this, Jack turned back around and carried on walking back up the stairs.
Elizabeth however, was not finished.
"But what important information could he give you?"
At this, Jack glanced over his shoulder at her, his smirk set upon his handsome face.
"Wait till you meet him...then you will see...."
