Chapter 10 – Wheelings and Dealings
“I will NOT be left here to baby-sit!” Elizabeth announced in annoyance as the two men began to attempt to extricate the boy from Jack’s belt. The pirate growing more and more agitated as the boy continued to hold on more tightly than an octopus.
“Look, we’ve already got one squealing child so will you please just be quiet till we can shut this one up!” Jack shouted at Elizabeth who looked shocked but stayed silent till the boy was removed from Jack’s belt. The pirate laughing and quickly stepping out of the boy’s reach with a triumphant grin.
“I won’t you know.” Elizabeth repeated firmly now that the boy had been effectively removed and silenced. Sagar stood between the trio and dragged his eyes between them as they began to argue.
“Elizabeth, it isn’t safe.” Will reasoned comfortingly, Elizabeth looked appalled.
“I want to come! I won’t be left here to baby-sit Will. Jack…” She stumbled off her sentence slowly not quite sure what she had been intending to say to the pirate. He was regarding her curiously; Elizabeth turned her gaze sharply to Will, “Please.”

Night began to fall slowly, draping the ocean in a midnight silken glistening mantle. Oria sank down into the continuous sand, Barbossa slumping down alongside her. Both of their eyes on the horizon as the sun glazed it crimson and gold. “Why are you here?” Oria whispered after the sun had finished setting.
“Because you sent me here.” Barbossa responded dully his eyes latched onto the luxuriously rolling ocean also.
“No, I meant why are you here… with me.” She turned to look at him; slowly Barbossa met her gaze with a faint smile.
“Because Miss Oria, wherever you are Jack and a rescue party will surely follow without fail,” Barbossa chuckled. “I don’t intend on rotting away here and so will barter for passage.”
Oria nodded slowly and shifted to lie on her back, no stars rested in that ebony velvet above. Nothing but semi-darkness encompassed them; a rush of water drew both of their attention back to the expanse of ocean. Oria stood up smoothly, brushing the sand off herself as she watched the all too familiar ship approach them steadily.

Jack glanced down from the helm. How did he manage to land himself with this? Why was life so bloody complicated when he didn’t want it to be? Why couldn’t things just fall into place? Elizabeth and Will both on the ship and between them the bloody lad who insisted on being an ornament on Jack’s belt at every opportunity he got. There hadn’t been a maid willing to put up with the lad’s wailing which began without fail the second the pirate was out of his sight. Well, no, that was wrong. One maid had been willing only the stupid boy had pinched her when she tried to comfort him and that had been the end of that story.
“You definitely know the way to this Locker place don’t you?” Jack questioned Tia, slowly her gaze returned to him from their perusal of the ocean.
“Yes. You doubt me Jack Sparrow.” Tia stated, Jack shook his head slowly in disagreement. Tia strode towards him confidently, “You should not doubt me. I would do nothing to harm her, she is precious in more ways dan one to both of us.” She assured and slipped down to the deck as night began to fall. Her hand trailing absently over Sagar’s head as she smiled at the boy, he grinned back and Tia stepped down into the hold.
Jack watched Elizabeth silently as she talked absently with Will and Sagar. The girl was continually flicking her attention towards him. Jack could feel the burn of her gaze resting on him every few minutes for the briefest of seconds. He began to wonder if the girl’s reasons for coming were more primitive than he had first believed. After all she had called on him to help persuade Will in letting her join the escapade or rather she had attempted to coerce him into taking her with or without young William’s permission.
:/
Tia gently clasped the jar of blood between her hands and slowly crept up onto the deck. Night had well and truly fallen, casting the deck of the Black Pearl in a silvery glittering glaze. Although there was a full crew the deck seemed empty, as they worked only to maintain the Pearl’s direction and speed. Steadily Tia made her way to the prow.
Silently she stood for a few seconds relishing the cool sea breeze trickling through her hair and over her skin. Her fingers played over the glass of the jar lightly before trailing up and dragging the cork free from its stopper. “I call on you to rise once more. A new era is being born.” Tia whispered as she tipped the bottle upside down, the crimson liquid curling with the spray that broke against the Pearl’s prow. Tia’s eyes trailed up to the mist covered distance. A monstrously large silhouette broke free of the ocean silently, the ebony bulk ragged against the smooth coils of swirling mist. She smiled faintly as it floated away, towards its destiny where fate would clad it out back into its full regalia.

Oria watched silently as the small row boat ground against the beach and Davy Jones stepped down onto the beach and strode towards her, shadowed by his crew. She smiled faintly as they approached, Davy Jones stopping where the water finished. “Oria De Monara.” He whispered the name slowly, letting each syllable roll off honey sweet from his tongue.
“You’ve been tricked,” Oria whispered teasingly, Davy Jones glanced down as if embarrassed at the statement. “So that is how he knew. You told him.” She purred steadily as she stepped forwards. “He has your heart.” Oria laughed and swayed towards him arrogantly confident.
“I come with a deal.” Davy Jones announced curtly to stop her teasing. Oria paused in her cruel taunting and she stepped up to him curiously.
“I know what deal you bring and you know my answer.” She whispered conspiratorially.
