CHAPTER 11
8 Years after AWE

“JACK!!” She yelled it so loud he nearly burst out laughing right then and there, which wouldn’t even allow him the opportunity to play clueless.

“Lizzie.” He managed to mutter out without the humor. “WILLY IS MISSING HOW CAN YOU BE SO CALM!! HE COULD HAVE FALLEN OVERBOARD!!” She was panicked and he actually started to feel quite badly having agreed with the lad to keep his location quite, but she always over-reacted when she couldn’t find the boys, thinking the worst. He’d seen her walking the deck and then below and had done his best thus far to remain out of it. It was a matter of time before she’d get him involved in the “search.”

“Perhaps because you think he’s missing and he isn’t in actuality missing because there is in fact no place for him to have gone missing, being that we reside on a ship, he is not missing at all.” He smiled at her quite proud of his ability to tell her he was fine without actually speaking the words. “Besides ‘e can swim,” he added as an after thought to make her laugh.

“Jack,” she had calmed down quite a bit when she realized the man before her doing his best not to laugh at her, “are you telling me you know where he is?” She smiled at him.

“Course not,” his eyes wondered from hers trying to hide that he knew.

“Are you sure?” She stepped closer and brushed her lips across his.

“Not gonna work Lizzie, although I do enjoy your means of persuasion.” He smirked at her. “A great deal in fact. So much so that if it weren’t for the missing child‘s actual nearness I would persuade ye a little bit more before taking ye back to our cabin.”

“Where is he Jack?” She asked the question while running a discreet hand along his body in just the right places, specifically because she knew he‘d give up the answer if she provoked him just enough.

“Your favorite place on the Pearl luv. After all he is yer son.” He nodded his head upwards towards the crows nest, silently apologizing to Willy for giving in that easily, and hoping against all hope he would get more out of her later.

“Thank you.” She pressed a kiss to his lips “You might just be rewarded” she spoke into his ear before heading to climb up to the crows nest to check on her son. After all he was just like her, and she tended to like going up there to think on things, usually things that were bothering her.

----------------------------

“How’d you find me?” Willy asked her. He knew by the look on her face that the answer was Uncle Jack. “He can never keep anything from you.” He smiled at her before returning his eyes to the horizon.

“What’s the matter Willy?” She crawled up beside him and wrapped an arm over his shoulders to pull him closer.

“Just watching the horizon, is all.”

“Your thinking about your father again, aren’t you.” She knew it had been hard for him ever since she’d told him, which had been a fairly recent conversation she had had with him. It was hard enough for her to hear him call Jack, Uncle Jack, when Jack had always treated Willy as a son. She’d known all these years it wasn’t going to be easy once he was old enough to understand, not that understanding their situation was something she could easily do, let alone expect a boy of Willy‘s age to grasp.

“I just wish I could meet him, mum. I don‘t want to have to wait forever.”

“You will, I promise. And it’s just a few years now, not forever. But you will have forever to get to know him.” She pulled him a little tighter, “Ye know Uncle Jack cares for you just as much as he does Josh right?” The two of them looked down and laughed at Jack who was playing a game of tag with Josh.

“Uncle Jack’s great Mum. Its nothing about him,” he thought for a minute, “I feel like, I don’t know how to explain it, but I think meeting dad will fix it.”

“Willy, I never really got to meet my mother. She died when I was born. So I understand that you feel like you don’t know part of who you are. And I know you love your Uncle Jack and he cares for you just as much as he does Josh. I assure you, you will meet your father and he will love you just as much as we do.” She kissed his forehead, these conversations often left her feeling even more guilty about Will that she usually did.

“Can you tell me another story, ’bout him?” The boy asked breaking the silence around them.

“Of course.” She smiled at him before beginning the tale of how William Turner had saved her from cursed pirates with the help of Captain Jack Sparrow.

-----------------

Jack was waiting in their cabin for her when she finally put the boys to bed.

“Lads should sleep well tonight.” Jack smiled at her and almost instantly realized something was wrong. “What’s the matter luv?”

“Willy was asking me about Will again,” she sat down on the edge of the bed somewhat saddened. “I feel so guilty about it when I think about everything that has happened to him…to us.”

Jack walked over and sat next to her. “Ye know we couldn’t have changed any of it.”

“I wouldn’t want to change it.” She grabbed his hand to reassure him that it wasn’t him that she regretted, that she needed him, that she loved him. Truth was she couldn’t go on without Jack, wouldn’t want to. “I just wish that Willy would be able to spend more time with Will. Will doesn’t even know about Willy, he always wanted a son. He never wanted to be an absentee father.”

“Willy’s a great kid. Looks just like ‘im, and acts like ‘im sometimes too, but he‘s also got yer independence luv, and yer spirit. He‘ll be alright.”

“It’s just hard. Part of me wishes I had just told him that you were his father. Then he wouldn’t even know about Will and wouldn’t feel like part of himself is missing.” She paused, “It’s the worst feeling, missing a parent, but if I didn’t tell him, Will would never get to know about his own son and that’s just as unfair as misleading Willy.”

Her telling him that touched Jack, but he never thought of Willy as anything less than his own since the day he met the lad. Rather uncertain of what to say to her, Jack just pulled her near and held her. “I think ill spend the day with Willy tomorrow, maybe teach him the finer parts of being a Captain eh?”

“Jack Sparrow ye really are too good a man to be a pirate.” She smiled up at him with love filling her eyes.

“So ye been telling me ever since ye met me.” He smirked at her and kissed her lips taking with him all her sadness when they broke apart. “I think its time I showed ye just how wicked I can be.” He kissed her hard and fierce, “Need to show ye why I’m a pirate, and not such a good man.”

“I think I may enjoy that.” She smirked at him and resumed kissing him quite thoroughly.

“Do ye now?” He teased, gently strolling his hand along her jaw line.

“Aye.” She kissed him and ran her hands along his back, eagerly seeking the ends of his shirt to pull it over his head.

His hands quickly follow suit as he threw her shirt aside and eagerly kissed her chest.

She threw her head back in anticipation and he quickly moved his lips to her neck, marking her as his as she laced her hands in his dreads. They pulled apart long enough to remove the rest of their clothing and move comfortably to their bed.

He quickly pulled her to him, wrapping her in his arms, and locking her lips against his in a bruising kiss. She shuddered in his arms, even after all their time together he could still make her tremble. He slowly settled himself between her legs as he pulled her legs around him, slowly caressing her leg, calf to thigh.

“I love you Jack.” She kissed him as he entered her, filling her with all she desired.

He ducked his head against her neck and brought his lips to her ear as he moved within her. “Yer me world Liz,” he bit her lip eliciting a moan and smiled against her hair.

They established a steady rhythm and exchanged wordless glances that spoke of love, and trust, and unity. Neither fell victim to the lust they still harbored for each other by rushing to conclude their coupling. When they came it was perfect rapture and they were quick to wrap their arms around each other, clutching each other to keep out the demons of their past and remain safe and in the moment.
