Chapter 12: The Verdict Is In
A/N: Okay Will is convicted and is placed in Jack’s custody. They take him back to the Pearl letting everyone believe that he is going to be killed. Hope you enjoy the newest chapter…please read and review!

Elizabeth walked back into the Brethren Hall as she held Jack’s hand tightly in hers. She felt an air of confidence now that she knew Jack wouldn’t be enforcing the ruling to kill Will once the trial was over. Letting go of Jack’s hand she walked up to the Brethren Council’s bench meeting Captain Morgan’s hard gaze without fear. He took notice of it and smirked as he cleared his throat to address her.
“Well Miss Swann…are ye quite ready t’ get on with this trial now?”
“I am Captain Morgan.”
“An’ there’ll be no more of this fainting nonsense then?”
“No sir…I’m quite certain that there will be no more interruptions.”
“If I may Miss Swann…what caused ye t’ collapse?”
“I’m quite embarrassed to say Captain Morgan…my corset was just laced too tightly.”
He chuckled loudly making her cheeks redden a bit as she stole a quick glance at Jack. Will scowled as he watched the exchange between his former fiancee and his former friend. It angered him to no end to see them together and so obviously devoted to each other. Elizabeth’s voice brought him out of his thoughts and back to reality.
“You see Captain Morgan…Mr. Turner and I were engaged to be married.”
“I see…so what happened to make your relationship take such a dark turn?”
So it was Mr. Turner now? When had Elizabeth become so cold and distant towards him? He supposed it was only natural after what had happened between them. Her tea colored eyes shifted to Will making him shift uncomfortably in his seat.
“It was my fault that our relationship took a turn for the worse Captain Morgan.”
“Is it now Miss Swann? An’ pray tell jus’ what could ye have done that could have been so horrible?”
“I fell in love…with someone else Captain Morgan.”
“Oh…well that could certainly incur the wrath of any man Miss Swann. Might I be sold bold as t’ ask who ye fell in love with?”
“You may Captain Morgan…”
Before she could finish her sentence Will stood up making his shackles clank together loudly. He shouted out harshly making her head jerk towards him quickly.
“My former fiancee fell in love with a man who claimed to be my friend…or better still…my brother! Those were his own words…him being Jack Sparrow!”
Henry Morgan’s dark eyes shifted to Will and he glared at him hard making Will sink back down into his chair.
“Ye weren’t asked t’ speak boy! How dare ye interrupt my council! Do not open yer mouth again unless asked…is that clear?”
“Completely Captain Morgan.”
“Well is this true Miss Swann?”
“It is Captain Morgan…Jack Sparrow is the man I fell in love with.”
“An’ so I gather that Mr. Turner was angered by yer feelings for Captain Sparrow?”
“Yes…he heard me tell Jack that I loved him.”
“An’ what did Mr. Turner decide t’ do next Miss Swann?”
“It was after he had heard me telling Jack that I loved him that he came into my chambers and forced himself on me Captain Morgan.”
“He raped ye…is that what yer telling me Miss Swann?”
Her tea colored eyes shifted to Will briefly and she felt tears sting them as she mouthed the words ‘I’m sorry.’ to him. He scowled and looked away from her as he shook his head. Turning back to face Captain Morgan she looked up at him and the rest of the Brethren Council. Clearing her throat she took a deep breath before speaking again.
“Yes Captain Morgan…he raped me.”
“I’ve heard enough…Mr. Turner ye are a spineless coward an’ the world will be well rid of ye! I hereby sentence ye t’ death by whatever means Captain Sparrow an’ Miss Swann deem fit for the likes of ye. This Brethren Council is adjourned.”
Pounding the cannon ball on the tabletop loudly he stood up and headed towards the exit of the Brethren Hall. Jack nodded to Pintel and Ragetti to take Will back to the brig of the Pearl and lock him up. As they dragged him past Elizabeth he stopped catching her gaze.
“I suppose you’re happy now that you’re free to be with Jack. You should be proud of yourself Elizabeth…you got what you’ve always wanted…your precious Captain Sparrow all to yourself! You two deserve each other!”
Before she could respond Pintel and Ragetti drug him away. Lowering her head she flinched a little when she felt a pair of strong arms encircle her slender waist. As soon as Jack’s scent surrounded her she relaxed in his arms leaning against his broad chest to rest her head on his shoulder. The entire Brethren Hall had cleared out leaving the two of them alone.
“Are ye alright darling?”
“I’m fine.”
“Are ye really fine or are ye jus’ saying that love?”
“No…I’m really fine Jack. You’re not going to kill Will are you?”
“I gave ye me word darling…I’ll not harm the boy…as much as I’d like t’ of course.”
“Thank you Jack. What are you going to do with him?”
“M’ dropping him off in England…far away from ye.”
Elizabeth nodded as Jack took her by the hand and led her out of the Brethren Hall back towards the Pearl. He planned to set a course for England that very evening. The quicker they got Will away from Shipwreck Cove the better his chances would be of staying alive. There was the matter that Will still had to be punished but Jack decided that he would keep that knowledge to himself. What Elizabeth didn’t know wouldn’t hurt her…or their still growing relationship. Jack intended on keeping his word to her that Will would not be killed. However he might just wish he had after he learned what Jack had planned for him.
