She Cried
Chapter Twelve
But Im in so deep,
You know Im such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger,
Do you have to let it linger?
Do you have to?
do you have to?
Do you have to let it linger?
- 'Linger' By The Cranberries
Elizabeth bunched her hands into small fists.
She heard the 'clink' of the Shack door as it opened, and instantly jumped upon the first person through the door, pummelling him with all her might.
"Oi!"
She did not care who it was, she just wanted them to know that she DID NOT appreciate being kept out of the loop.
Jack crossed both arms over his face, protecting him from the onslaught of fiery punches that seemed to be coming his way.
Just as Elizabeth went to catch his face again, his left hand stretched out quickly and grabbed her wrist, refraining her from making anymore movement.
He looked up at her angrily.
And then he remembered.
It all came back to him quite suddenly, almost as if what he had just been witness to was buried within him like a long lost dream.
She was what he had been looking for.
Elizabeth; - panting slightly as she was out of breath from trying to kill the bloody Pirate, - shifted uncomfortably ontop of Jack, looking into his eyes angrily.
She then became aware of the predicament she had gotten herself into.
She sat ontop of him, straddling his thighs on either side with her legs.
Her Sahri doing nothing to hide the flesh of her toned pins.
And yet she could not get up.
She just continued to stare at him.
Jack found himself looking at her intently.
Looking into her eyes...
'What can I find inside you?...' He thought to himself, seeing those blue eyes looking back at him curiously.
He thought that if he sat and stared long enough, that he might notice that subtle change within her...something that he had never noticed before.
But he saw nothing.
Nothing that gave him the initiation to believe that Elizabeth really could be the T'hak Mahara.
She obviously wondered what the hell he seemed to be doing.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked him.
Suddenly; Jack threw her off of him and got up from the dusty floor.
After dusting himself down, he looked down at the woman who rested just a few inches from his leather boots.
He held out his hand.
She hesitated, and then took it.
They looked at eachother for a few moments longer, before breaking eye contact and continuing to walk out of the hut.
Gibbs was left dumbfounded from the scene that had just played out infront of him.
'Maybe Jarafed is right...' He thought absent mindedly as he also exited the Shack. 'Maybe she really is the T'hak Mahara...

"So what did you find out?" She asked Jack curiously.
After returning to the Ship, not two hours had passed and suddenly Twilight was upon them.
The candle lanterns were lit up within the little sand-huts on the outskirts of the City.
It was truly a beautiful country.
Jack shifted uncomfortably.
"Nothing much...he didn't have enough information to give us"
Elizabeth was not buying it.
"He did not send me out of the room for nothing" She told him defiantly.
Jack looked out upon the water.
This time yesterday, he was looking for a sacred object as old as time itself...
And now...
well, now he knew that he had known where it was all along...and that thought scared him shitless.
"No, he didn't" Jack told her honestly.
Could he tell her?
Could he tarnish her world by telling her everything?
Did he have the balls to tell her that her whole life had been a lie?
What if he did tell her?
What then?
Would she accept it and get on with her life?
She had a crucial part in the world now...she was more than a life...she had the power to end it all.
"He told me that the T'Hak Mahara is an object" Jack told her, opting to be a complete and utter traitor and not tell her anything she did not need to know right now.
"What kind of object?" She asked him.
Something was wrong with him.
He used to have that look of determination within the brown of his eyes when he talked about the T'hak Mahara...now there was nothing there but utter confusion.
Almost as if he was not sure whether he wanted to find it or not.
"I don't know" Jack lied. "It can be anything...from a rock, to a Ship, apparently"
Elizabeth pondered upon the Pirates answer.
After standing in silence for what seemed like forever, Jack moved away from the rail of the ship and walked towards the stairs, where he climbed up them and stood next to Mr Gibbs, who stood at the helm.
Elizabeth watched them from the corner of her eye.
They were staring at her intently.
She knew something was amiss.
Something else had been said inside that room today.
She had sat there in complete rage when Gibbs had locked the door on her.
She knew there was something being said within that room that would effect her.
When the door had opened, she just wanted to condemn the Pirate for not letting her in on all of the story.
Afterall, if she was along for the journey, why could she not partake in the information that was being passed on?
She did not regret hitting the Pirate.
But she regretted the way she reacted to him when she found herself in such a compromising position.
And yet, it was not the position itself that had her heart fluttering uneccesarily...it was the look within his eyes.
He was attempting to look into her.
Look deep inside her, almost as if he were searching for something that she did not know she had.
And why?
Why did he do it?
And how?
How was it that she reacted to him the way that she did?
Why not get off of him and keep her dignity?
Instead, she sat ontop of him and allowed him to look right through her.
'I'm sorry, Will...
Having these silly little thoughts about Jack was not something that she was used to.
She had them a little while ago, a few months before she was rescued.
Maybe it was because Captain Jack Sparrow had been the first man to ever save her from any real danger...
(besides the fact that he later put her in greater danger...)
Maybe it was because Captain Jack Sparrow was the closest thing she had to Will...the only other person that really understood him...
But she knew they were wrong.
She knew that there was no way that these little dreams would turn into any kind of reality.
If she was honest, she was not even sure what lay within these dreams...she just saw Jack; the man that became her unconventional hero...the man that defied the Pirate code and almost made it his own contrast.
Elizabeth shook her head to clear her thoughts.
She could still feel them looking at her.
She knew she would not shake the feeling that they were hiding something from her, so instead she vowed that she would find it out for herself...
No matter what the outcome might be.
She looked over to the two men.
"You can stop looking at me now, I am going below decks to sleep"
The two men watched her curiously as she disappeared.
She could still feel their intense stares as she made her way down the steps of the deck below, and eventually found her hammock.
To say that these living quarters were squallor was an understatement.
It smelt of rotting fish, and the harsh material of the blanket woke her up as she tossed and turn in the night. (and twice she had fallen out of the hammock, hitting the floor with a dull 'thud'.)
She sighed to herself.
This was not how she was supposed to be living now.
She was supposed to be living in a small cottage on top of a hill, where her husband would yeild his swords, and she would take care of their children in the future.
Elizabeth twisted the wedding band on her finger unconsciously, thinking about what she would be doing right now if her love were still with her.
"I'll never know..." she told herself, as she climbed into her bunk slowly.
And for the first time in almost four months...she cried.
She cried for Will
She cried for herself.
She cried for the happiness that had dissolved, along with the dreams of a life that she no longer could hope for.
She cried for Love.
