AN1: Hello my lovelies! No smut this week though I did intent to write some more naughty parts all my time was, unfortunately, consumed with studying for a major exam which I’m pretty sure I failed regardless of my cram-sessions *sweatdrop*
So this week I tried something different, I wrote from an Abe point of view. It was different but surprisingly easy at some points even though I’d never done it before. So enjoy reading and tell me if I succeeded at ‘Abe-voice’ or if I failed so miserably I should never write it again.
000 Anger 000
Elizabeth was mad.
No, it was probably better to say she was beyond ‘pissed’, if you would excuse his language.
You see when Liz got mad it went either of two ways. In most cases her anger would build up quickly and she would act out even quicker to the source of her annoyance in a matter suitable, usually with shouted words and the scent of smoke followed up by the occasional ball of fire.
This was not the case at the moment.
Right now her anger was slowly building, which was never a good sign, and it only continued to build as it had been going for a few hours already. It was uncertain what had triggered this growing inferno but as she was currently glaring at an empty space on the wall and had refused to join in on the conversations around her it was nearly impossible to pinpoint the source of her annoyance without simply asking. He was not about to ask and face the wrath of a woman scorned though.
This was how it always began, usually Liz was a vibrant and happy person to be around but when she got angry she would glare at anyone and anything that bothered her until she had dealt with her pent up frustrations. Were her feelings allowed to simmer though she would fall silent and distance herself from those around her as she tried to deal with her anger without resorting to violence. Most of the time that didn’t really work out and whoever happened to bother her first became her next target.
Abe had noticed the signs the moment they had appeared, unlike anyone else, and had wisely chosen to stay away from their resident fire starter so as to not worsen her mood. Unfortunately it was quite hard to avoid seeing one another while locked in a small enclosed space together for many hours to come.
As it was they were currently on a plane to China on a mission, nothing world threatening or anything but since paranormal activity appeared to have reached an all time low they had brought out the big guns for a simple track and hunt mission. Hellboy appeared glad to be out of his room though he did voice some complaints about being shoved from one metal box into the other. Fortunately he had ceased this attitude the moment John had informed him that if he didn’t like flying coach with the rest of them he could always be moved to the cargo hold where a nice comfy crate was surely waiting for him. The two hadn’t stopped bickering since but what else was new.
It had been easy for him to tune out his fellow agents and focus on his book for most of the flight but now that Liz was starting to reach her boiling point he had been a little distracted. The fire starter had her arms crossed over her chest just as her legs were crossed one over the other in the way she usually sat when she was trying to calm herself, she was still glaring at the same spot on the wall and he feared the metal may suddenly melt away were her stare to grow even deadlier. He briefly considered a change of location but did not wish to disturb the female agent’s staring, he rather enjoyed being alive and sort-of breathing.
It seemed Hellboy didn’t share that sentiment though as he had just made the rather foolish mistake of raising his voice in the argument he was having with his liaison. Sure they were all quite used to this sort of attitude from the half-demon but with Liz in her current mood it was a miracle their plane wasn’t a burning death trap yet. As it was her brow twitched at the noise but she remained seated and silent, for now.
Unfortunately Hellboy’s behaviour didn’t stop there as he was now wildly throwing his hands around to prove some sort of point to the other agent. Abe watched the stone hand move through the air like a projectile without a target and the Icthyo Sapien prayed to whatever deity would hear him that it remained that way. Alas it was not meant to be for mere seconds later the demon’s stone hand of doom nicked Liz’s arm ever so slightly. He flinched at the harsh treatment and was fully prepared for an all out war, or maybe even the next apocalypse, to break out any second now. It seemed like a miracle to him when nothing happened for several long seconds, no fire, no blood curling screams, absolutely nothing that might indicate the painful death of one of his friends.
His eyes settled upon the fire starter once again and found no change in her posture, sure her earlier annoyance was still clearly visible to him but other than that she didn’t appear to be plotting evil vengeance or anything else that might leave them all severely traumatized. He let out a sigh of relief as the sounds of easy back and forth banter between the demon and his liaison continued undisturbed, allowing for his worries to fade away as he focused back on his book with a smile.
All was well for quite some time after that but he had long ago accepted the fact that anything that could go wrong would go wrong especially when it came to their team. So really it shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise to him when Hellboy decided to push the boundaries and make what might be considered the biggest mistake of his life, depending on your vantage point.
“Liz, don’t you agree that Scout’s way out of line here?” Hellboy’s words echoed in the small space between them as all other sounds seemed to fade from existence for that one single moment. What happened next was like watching a train crash happening before your very eyes, every little detail slowed down to fully imprint the shock of the situation going on around you.
“Do you really want to know what I think?” Liz asked, her voice low, dark and dangerous. It was a sound he had never heard before from her or anyone else for that matter and for the first time in years Abraham felt the tendrils of fear creep up his spine. Hellboy seemed to be experiencing a similar sensation as he stared at the fire starter, eyes wide and growing impossibly wider as Elizabeth rose from her chair to glare at the demon.
“Well, do ya?!” She demanded and if it were possible he was sure her eyes would be spitting fire right now as Hellboy, for once in his life, appeared speechless.
“Sure, I’ll tell you what I think, I think you two should stop arguing like bloody five-year-olds and just
fucking do what everybody here knows you want to do which is screw each other’s brains out!” She yelled and pointed one of her fingers at the demon and his partner. Both flinched away from the digit as though it were the deadliest weapon either of them had ever seen. Liz didn’t even notice the sudden silence that had fallen over all of them as every last pair of eyes in the room stared at her with thinly veiled curiosity as she let out her anger upon the two agents.
“I swear the sexual tension is so thick I could cut it with a knife but the two of you seem to be the only ones who don’t
flippin’ notice it!” She threw her hands up into the air and gripped at her hair in frustration.
“
God, all you do is bitch at each other while you should be working out your frustrations in the bedroom like normal people! Well no more, I have had it! Starting now you two are going to get along and face your feelings or I swear to all that is holy I’ll make myself a new pair of boots out of both your asses! Am I clear?!” Liz finally finished, her hands now on her hips and still glaring angrily at the subjects of her anger. All she was met with was silence though as it seemed both demon and human were too shocked to say a word. The temperature in the room went up a few degrees as her anger spiked again.
“I said am I clear?!” She yelled again, voice once again low and threatening. Hellboy and John instantly snapped to attention after that.
“Yes, ma’am!” They said simultaneously and Abe detected a good dose of fear in their voices, not that he blamed them. Liz nodded curtly, apparently satisfied with the answer, as her remaining anger and frustration faded away.
“Good. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to go lie down for the rest of the flight because I have a headache.” She informed them and no one said a word to stop her, the fire starter turned and left through the door leading to a small room with several cots set up for them to sleep in during the long flight. The door slammed shut behind the female agent but the silence continued on as all eyes remained on the demon and his liaison. Hellboy quickly noticed the attention they were receiving and growled low in his throat.
“What are you all lookin’ at?” He snapped at the handful of humans who instantly went back to minding their own businesses. Abe brought his book up, pretending to be reading as he continued to watch his two friends with interest, wanting to see their reaction to the information Liz had just confronted them with. All around them conversations were picked back up again but the amphibian had no trouble listening in on the others whispered conversation.
“Damn.” Hellboy muttered, obviously referring to the fire starter’s outburst, and John nodded in agreement. “What was all that about?” The demon asked but his partner simply shrugged in shared confusion.
“Hell if I know…” The agent said and the two locked eyes for only the briefest of seconds before looking away again, focusing on anything but each other. The exchange had barely lasted a moment but the sudden change in attitude in both of them didn’t go unnoticed by him. Something had changed within his friends and he was pretty sure he knew what it was.
Silence reigned supreme between the two for several long seconds but it wasn’t long before one of them spoke up again.
“I’m just gonna go and… you know… think for a bit.” John said as he rose from his chair. The two locked eyes again and a silent understanding seemed to come to life between them. “
Alone.” The agent added as an after thought after which he smiled shyly and left the room in the direction of the cargo hold. Hellboy followed his partner with his eyes until the young man left from his sight before settling back in his chair, waiting. The demon remained in his chair for a full twenty seconds before glancing around to see if no one was watching him, which led to Abe quickly having to hide behind his book again, and quickly sprinting out of the room after his partner.
Abe smiled to himself as he was finally able to focus on his book, hoping his friends would remember to keep their voices down if they didn’t wish to embarrass themselves further.

AN2: Damn Liz was pissed! But I suppose that’s just the two sides of Liz, on one side you have the happy go lucky supporting friend and on the other side you have the devil incarnate. Or maybe that’s just women in general, IDK.
So exciting news (for me anyways) I am going to
London on Monday!!! I’ll be gone for 4 days and it’s gonna rock out I just know it! I’ve been to London before and every time it was awesome and this time I have more money to spend so the first place I’m going is a comic book shop to stock up on my Hellboy comics! The only down side to this is that I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get some writing in since I could either have a shit-load of extra time since I don’t have work or school or I’ll be so busy going sight-seeing and shopping that I won’t even touch my laptop at all. I’ll try and write whenever I can though since I plan to stick to my promise of one story every week!
Hope you all enjoyed reading and see you when I get back from London!
