Chapter 14 - Arrival
Title: Time and Time Again
Author: Hellborne (the_ferret_mom@yahoo.com)
Age Rating: 13+
Disclaimer: Characters, if you saw them in the movie or if they're real people, not mine. See the Mouse and the Real People. Story, mine, but I make no money. He does, but not on this.
Typing convention: / is used for thoughts. * - * - * is used for scene changes and passages of time.
Summary: It's the year 2001. Will Turner, descendent of a particular blacksmith, has been left a journal and a scarf...leading him to a particular cave.
Betas: The two greatest BetaGoddesses in the world, Pendragginink and Littlebird! You're both truly magnificent, and I wouldn't be able to write half as well without you!
NOTE: I live for reviews. Being quite depressed lately about my health and missing my job, I could really use some reviews...and don't think I'm begging for cudos! I happen to love flames and constructive criticism just as much and sometimes more! Lord knows, without constructive criticism, I'd have never fixed some of the boo boos I've made!

Chapter 14 - Arrival
"Will, the massage from that Mexican lass was wonderful! Your time is far better at the art than my time."
"Jack, as of now, THIS is YOUR time too. After all, there's no way to get back to the eighteenth century. Just think of yourself as a twenty-first century millionaire; not an eighteenth century pirate."
"You're absolutely right. And when we get back to L.A., I'm going to purchase a good salvage ship so that we can bring up the gold on the first treasure ship. I'll get that moving while you make arrangements with whatever government thinks it owns this little piece of the Caribbean." He pointed at a location on the map laid out on the table in the main cabin. "See what kind of deal you can arrange for us to be able to go in there and get the gold. If they want information on which ship it is, that would be the Reina del Luz, lost with all hands on June 9th, 1724. With that information and the general statement that she went down in THEIR waters, you should be able to make some kind of arrangement with them."
"Ok. I'm also calling ahead to L.A. and buying a private dock for the yacht."
"Why?"
"So that we don't have to get the monkey through customs."
"Then why didn't ye just do that in Miami?"
"I already own a berth in Miami. It's because we'd have the same problem trying to fly poor little Jack across the country."
"I do wish you would change his name."
"Then once we get home, we'll get him to a vet and get him all his shots. Come to think of it, we need to do the same for you."
"What? Take me to a vet? NEVER!"
"No, Jack. A doctor. You need all the shots that people get nowadays."
"I do hope they use small enough ammunition."
"What?"
"The ammunition. I hope it's small; otherwise I've had enough shots already." He opened his shirt showing the powder scars for emphasis.
"No, Jack. These are done with needles. They won't kill you."
"Oh, good. Nothin' worse than stitches, eh? Then there's nothin' to fear of the shots of today."

"You're not gettin' near me again with that thing, mate! Those bloody needles you use aren't ANYTHING like stitchin' needles!" Jack held his aching hip as he put the examination table between him and the doctor.
"Mr. Sparrow, you've nothing to fear. That Gamma Globulin shot is the most painful shot you're getting."
"I'll say it is! It's the ONLY shot I'm getting! You should work for the Inquisition, mate. You'd make a first rate torturer!" Jack dashed out of the exam room wearing nothing but the gown they gave him to wear, the opening in the back flapping in the breeze as he ran into the waiting room and over to Will. "Will, get me out o' here! I'd rather die than have any more of those 'gambling hobgoblin' shots!"
"Gambling hobgoblin?" Will tried to figure out what Jack meant. "Gamma Globulin?"
"Aye! That's the one!"
"Jack, you only get one of those when you travel. It's the most painful shot on the planet. The rest of them are a piece of cake. Now go back in there and get the rest of your shots."
Jack quirked an eyebrow. "You're not just sayin' that to trick me back into the torture chamber again, are you?"
Will giggled. "No, Jack. I wouldn't do that." He paused, looking beyond Jack. "Umm...Jack? Umm...your gown is open in the back."
"I know that, Will. What of it?"
"Umm...Jack? Umm...there are two ladies and four kids over there...and one little girl is staring."
Jack straightened up, pulling the back of the gown together and blushing slightly. "There is?" Will nodded. "All right then. I think I'll go back to me torture chamber and get those shots then." He turned slowly and smiled sheepishly at the ladies and children, then sidestepped his way to the door, going through it quickly and raced back to the examination room.

"Ye lied to me, Will."
"How so?" Will glanced over as he stopped at a red light.
"You told me the hobgoblin shot would be the worst."
"It wasn't?"
"Oh, it was bad enough, but ye never warned me about blood test shots."
"Oh! No, that's not a shot. They wanted some of your blood to see how healthy you are."
"In my day, if someone wanted your blood, they wanted to see how DEAD they could make you."
Will laughed. "Things have definitely changed."
