on with the story
All of Babylon was in frenzy. Today was the day of the parade honoring the birth of Alexander’s son. The dancers were practicing every move, to ensure a flawless performance. The cooks were preparing countless amounts of food items for the feast after the parade and acrobats were rehearsing as well. In the streets of Babylon the merchants were stuffing their booths food and various other items, this parade would attract thousands, and they sure as hell weren’t going to miss out on the profit opportunity. The only person in the city not thrilled by this even was Hephaistion. He didn’t like the idea of being paraded around with his son; the whole city would think he was a woman. He didn’t like that idea either. So he spent the entire day in his room while his son was with Olympias and Alexander was ensuring that everything would go smoothly. He sat outside on his balcony and watched as decorations were being put up in the streets, and people were gathering to get the best view of Alexander’s heir. The guards were continuously patrolling the parade route to ensure of not only Alexander’s, Teodor’s and Hephaistion’s safety but for the safety of the citizens of this city as well. Alexander told Hephaistion two days ago of all the nobles he invited to celebrate this event. The list was overwhelming, so overwhelming that Hephaistion chose to ignore Alexander for the long moment that he was going over the list. Most of the people on Alexander’s list arrived last night with hands full of gifts for the newborn and its mother. However, Hephaistion let Alexander greet the guests. He wasn’t in the mood to be stared at.
Alexander entered his room fully dressed and prepared for the parade and feast and found that Hephaistion was not. He slowly walked to the balcony where Hephaistion was sitting starring at the last minute preparations for the parade.
“Hephaistion, why aren’t you ready? The parade starts in an hour,” Alexander questioned Hephaistion softly.
Hephaistion looked at Alexander, “Sorry, I must of lost track of time. I’ll go prepare myself this instant,” he said as he got up. Hephaistion quickly examined Alexander. He was wearing a blue robe lined with gold trim. His hair was put back sleekly. He truly looked like a king.
“Hephaistion, you summoned away the servants that were to prepare you. You didn’t loose track of time,” Alexander said with arms crossed, “I know you don’t want to do this. But your duty calls for it. Please, just do this, for me? Its only a day.”
Hephaistion sighed, he always gave in to Alexander’s demands, “Alright Alexander, you win. Send in the servants, I’ll comply with their demands,” he said with both hands up.
Alexander smiled and closed in the distance between him and his lover and gave him a warm loving kiss, “Thank you Hephaistion. I’ll come back later to fetch you. My mother will stop by with Teodor later,” he said as he walked out of the balcony and into the room. Alexander opened the door and let in the servants that Hephaistion sent away.
They all filed in and started to do their work. Two of them grabbed Hephaistion and led him to the bath where they quickly prepared a bath for him, and started to scrub him down. After the bath was done they dried Hephaistion and rubbed him down with scented oil all over his body and patted him dry once more. Then two other servants entered the room and grabbed Hephaistion and led him out of the room. They stood Hephaistion erect with his held out and another servant came towards him with a golden colored fabric with blue trimming and embroidery and began wrapping the fabric around him, while the other two were securing pins here and there. Hephaistion noted that the fabric got tighter and tighter around him. Once the servants were done wrapping him, one came back with scissors and began cutting here and there. He started at the bottom and worked his way up. Where the servant was done cutting the fabric off the other two began to stitch a dark blue trim so that fabric wouldn’t fray. The servants with the scissors then began cutting fabric away from his shoulders. He then stood back and inspected Hephaistion. He readied his scissors once more and began cutting the fabric around his chest area.
‘Oh great,’ Hephaistion thought.
Soon as the cut fabric fell the servants stitched up the frays and added the trim. They all stood back and nodded their heads in approval once they were done, and one brought a mirror for Hephaistion to look at himself.
Hephaistion’s mouth dropped when he saw himself. He was in a dress that accented every feature of the womanly body he now possessed. His breasts seemed to pop out of the low v-neck cut that was made, and the fabric was tight around his hips and thighs. The dress had no sleeves and what held the dress together was a big golden brooch on a thin line. With the remaining fabric hanging loosely on backside.
“Gorgeous,” a woman exclaimed.
Hephaistion turned around and saw Olympias holding Teodor. Olympias closed the distance in between them and inspected Hephaistion.
“Simply gorgeous,” she said, “However, the dress needs to be tighten and bit.”
She handed Teodor to Hephaistion, “No, I think it’s tight enough,” he said.
However his demands were cut short, Olympias unfastened the brooch and tugged harshly on the fabric, which caused Hephaistion to gasp for air. Olympias tugged once more when Hephaistion gasped creating a smaller waist and more of an hourglass shape.
“There much better,” she said as she took Teodor from Hephaistion’s arms.
“No,” Hephaistion said in short breaths, “Can’t…breathe.”
The servants moved to loosen the dress but Olympias stopped them.
“Hephaistion, breathe in short breathes,” she said calmly.
‘Oh how I wish you would go through this pain this instant,’ Hephaistion thought in anger.
After a few moments Hephaistion managed to learn how to control his breaths and another pair of servants came and took Hephaistion. Hephaistion was used to taking long strides, but the dress confined him into taking many short strides. Which Olympias was a bit amused at as she followed Hephaistion.
He was seated down and two began working on his hair, while another pair was working on preparing the make-up for his face. There were twists and turns, prods and pokes and his hair was finally done. Then the two that were preparing his make-up proceeded to do their job. Hephaistion closed his eyes and let them do whatever they wanted. He had given up any hope of still looking like a man long ago. They also put sandals on Hephaistion’s feet.
The next thing on the agenda was jewelry. They hanged two golden earrings in Hephaistion’s hair, put numerous of bangles on his arms, and a ring on his left ring finger. Then the servants brought the mirror.
‘Yep, Hephaistion thought, ‘I am a full blown woman.’
Olympias handed Teodor to Hephaistion and looked in the mirror as well.
“Only Alexander is left in to complete this image.”
Teodor was dressed richly as well, in the same fabric to match his father’s. Olympias was dressed similar as Hephaistion only in a lighter tone of gold.
Alexander entered the room and smiled at the image before him. His family.
“Come Phai,”he said with open arms, “The city awaits you and Teodor.”
