Dragons and Choices
AN: Alright... I know that some of you are royally pissed at me for being so late in
updating. I have no excuse except I didn’t wanna type. *smiles* I know, a lame excuse
but I didn’t have the baby this week, so I took my chance to sleep in and stay up late
when I could. Things should be pretty regular now. And also... If people have such a
problem with my story, I wanna know what’s wrong. *looks at story rating* Don’t be a
pussy, tell me what sucks about it. And if you rate it bad because I dont update
everyday, then fuck you. *sighs* Now that I got that out, Jareth’s mine to fuck with, but I
do not own him.
Chapter 14
Micheal smiled as he saw his brethren fly in with such grace. *They are so beautiful. I
don’t understand how people can fear them. Oh yeah,* he smiled to himself, *I control
them.*
The dragons began to settle down around the city. Creatures of gigantic size spread
their wings and stretched as the landed with ease. Golden colors caught the bright sun
rising in the west*. The moon kissed the last of the sky as it disappeared in the east. An
unsettled feeling panged it was through the air as the dragons knew what they were
called for. Some were seen sharpening their claws, digging into the brittle ground and
finding rocks to use. Others changed to their fae forms and checked to see how much
damage was done from their unlucky encounter with the dense fog last night. Many had
died in the night’s travel. Thick, strong, sickening magic had spread through the night
and became a toxic fume to the evil followers. The heavy fumes of the female scented
magic aroused many of the older dragons, but killed almost all the younger soldiers.
Unable to stand the pheromone that the female was dishing out, they suffocated to
death on the arousing but deadly emissions.
“M’lord, we have counted the loss. Out of the 13,000 of us that came when you called,
about 4,200 of us were picked off by the fog. Mostly the young ones.”
“I see. And what of the females?”
“None were harmed. All 3,000 if them are still alive.”
“Good. I want all the females to be going after Sarah.”
“What of the fae princess, m’lord?”
“Crystal can be met by the males. She doesn’t deserve to live.”
“Yes, m’lord.”
The young man bowed and walked to the window and changed quickly into his golden
dragon. He then jumped off the balcony window and took flight to hand out the
instructions.
Micheal walked to the balcony of his brother’s castle and looked over the city. Most of
the goblins had hid after Micheal had showed up to replace his brother. Lielle had done
a nice job of making Jareth’s believe she was his lovely maiden. She had been loyal up
until now. He just wondered how long she would stay that way. *Jareth is going to be
able to break thorough my forces. I dont doubt that.* Micheal shifted his weight
uneasily. *It all depends on id Lielle can take care of Sarah or not.*
“Oh my god. Where did all those ugly things come from?” Lielle walked up beside
Micheal and peered out over the balcony.
“They are not ugly.” Micheal snapped at her.
“The hell they aren’t. Those things are the ugliest thing I have ever seen.”
Micheal turned and grabbed Lielle by her throat.
“It would be wise for you to watch your tongue,” Micheal ran his finger down her cheek,
“my little snakestress.”
Lielle grabbed at his hand as he lifted her higher off the floor. “Micheal,” she strained
out, “put me down.”
“Why?” Micheal smiled and he pushed a little harder on her throat and she turned a
little redder.
“They’re,” Lielle struggled to hold consciousness, “here.” she said as she felt blackness
creeping into her eyes.
Micheal dropped her to the floor and turned to find the gates to the city opening.
“So it begins...” Micheal’s inside churned with excitement.
Lielle rubbed her throat as she rose to her feet and smiled a little. “I have some
business to attend to.”
“Make me proud.” Micheal never even turned to watch her leave.

“Jareth, I can’t do this. I don’t even know how to ill a dragon. You can’t kill a dragon.”
“Untrue.” Crystal said as she pulled out a sword from her hip. Jareth followed her suit
and pulled his own sword from it’s sheath.
“You can kill a dragon. While they may look like dragons on the outside,” Jareth waved
his hand and silver body armor appeared, ”they are plain fae underneath.”
“But I dont have a sword like you guys. I dont any armor, I dont know how to fight. Oh...
It’s not fair!” Sarah yelled as she walked around in circles in her head.
Jareth stopped fixing his gauntlets when he heard Sarah scream out that phrase that
made her so different than the others.
“It’s not fair Sarah, but you going to have to deal with it.” Jareth said walking to her.
“Use your magic. You may not know how to fight, but your magic does.”
“Trust in it Sarah, or it won’t be there for you.” Crystal added joining the two. “Your
gifted for a reason.” Crystal smiled and nodded.
Sarah shifted her weight around and took a deep breath. She closed her eyes and
memories flashed in her head. She saw Jareth the first time the met and smiled a little.
She saw Toby smiling while her father pushed him on their tire swing at their house.
She felt a warmth take her in and surround her body. She felt her gloves tighten on her
hands as the sliver gauntlets snaked around her. She could feel the armor set itself
over her chest and legs. She felt a headband stretch over her head and when she
opened her eyes found a cross site over her left eye. And in her hand, was her glowing
bow. She looked over the pinkish colored bow and marveled at how big it was, yet it
weighed nothing.
“Are you ready Sarah?” Jareth asked.
Sarah nodded.
“May the gods watch over us on this day and may our cause not be in vein.” Crystal
added and she watched her brother pull Sarah into a deep kiss.
“Trust in it Sarah.” He told her as he let her out of the kiss.
“I will.” Sarah smiled and she wiped some of his hair out of his eyes.
The three looked at each other and all smiled.
“Let’s go kick some ass.” Crystal said running to the gates.
“Right.” Sarah said following in her footsteps.
Jareth was the last to move before the huge gates.
*Hear me my ancestors. Guide me and let my sword strike mercilessly. Protect those I
love and may you be blessed.* With that, Jareth held out a hand and the gates slowly
opened.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Toby heard the dragons begin to call to each other again. He watched as the circling
dragons that were watching the gates turned and headed for the castle. Toby saw the
little goblins he was with scurry about and go about their daily duties. He wondered
what it was like to live in the Underground. How Jareth treated them. If they had school.
He wondered why none of them were worried about what was going on. Did none of
them care if their king died?
*They must not like him that much.*
“Excuse me, can I have some binoculars?”
“Some what?” a goblin asked confused.
“They are something you use to look at things far away, like a scope or something.”
“Oh yes, a spy glass. There is one in the shed by the forest.” the goblin replied walking
away.
“Thanks.” Toby looked for the shed and spotted the glass hanging on a nail out side the
shed. He hanged the spy glass around his neck and looked past the shed.
He saw a small forest of trees and walked into it. He jumped to grasp a lower branch of
the first tree he came to and climbed to the top of it. He stuck his head out and gazed
around the desolate land outside the Labyrinth walls. His eyes fell on the castle and he
raised the glass to peer through it.
He saw the dragons beginning to station themselves around in various parts of the city.
*They are so pretty*
He looked at the masses of them.
*There must thousands of them*
He pointed his head in the direction of the castle and saw a female in battle gear
walking to one side of the city. She sat down on a fountain and stretched out in the sun.
She looked at her nails and then stood up. He couldn’t believe his eyes as suddenly
the girl transformed into Sarah and then back to her original form again.
*Oh no... how’s Jareth going to be able to tell who the real one is?*
Toby jumped down out of the tree and headed back to the town.
*I’ve gotta do something.*
Toby started walking in the direction towards the Labyrinth wall.
“Excuse me, master Toby?”
Toby cursed the small goblin in his head.
“Yeah?”
“If your going, you might want armor.”
Toby turned and saw the little village of goblins huddling around him. They all smiled a
little and looked him over.
“Your going to let me go?”
“We can’t stop you, so we would rather help than fight.”
Toby smiled at all the goblins and they smiled back. He took the armor and put it over
his tiny, fragile body. He felt the armor tighten to fit him and felt a sword appear at his
hip.
“Now to get you in there.” The goblin smiled and started walking.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Sarah watched as the gates opened and instantly fire blew past her. At the doors, just
waiting for them to be opened, was the biggest animal she had ever seen. And not just
one, but there were thousands of them waiting almost anxiously for their arrival.
“Why are there two colors?” Sarah called to Jareth.
“The gold ones are the males.” Jareth answered as he swung his sword at the fire
breathing creature. His sword pierced his underside and the dragon instantly changed
to a fae. Jareth, with no remorse, drove his sword through the man’s chest and pulled
out to go after another.
“The purple ones are females!” Crystal called following Jareth’s lead. She drew her
sais’ and sliced the female’s neck. The girl that fell to the ground looked barely older
than Sarah.
“She’s just a kid!” Sarah watched in horror as Crystal’s sai diced her skin. When she
finally stopped, she kicked at the bloody pulp that lay at her feet. She then continued
on to the next unlucky creature.
“I can’t do this. Not if they are that young!” Sarah called after Crystal. She felt
something burning on her arm and turned to see acid dripping down her shoulder. She
looked up and saw a purple dragon opening her mouth and she dodged just in time. A
streak of acid shot out of its mouth and landed right where Sarah was.
“Oh hell no...” Sarah called and she pulled an arrow from her back. She pulled it back
and sighted in her sight.
*Go for the eyes* Jareth’s voice rang through her head.
She lifted the arrow higher and let it fly. The dragon screeched as the arrow landed
right at it’s target.
“Bullseye.” Sarah yelled as she watched the girl fall to the ground. She walked up to
the girl and looked down.
“Please, spare me.”
“Fuck you.” Sarah took the arrow off the ground and made it into a dagger. She slit the
girls throat and turned to see Jareth on a mad killing spree. *All’s fair in love and war.*
She decided Jareth and Crystal had this part and broke off the to left.
She drew her bow and picked off the dragons one by one. After she did, she went and
retrieved the arrow and began to tune out the begging. She slit throat after throat, her
blood boiling and someone she never knew was in her began to erupt. She began to
almost like killing these monsters.
She came around a corner and her eyes settled on a fountain. But, that wasn’t the only
thing her eyes settled on.
“You, you and me have some things to settle.”
Lielle’s head popped up when she heard the voice ring through the air.
“Took you long enough to get here. Did you get lost?”
“No, I just had a few dragons to slay.”
“I see.” Lielle stood and joined Sarah in the middle of the walk way. “I am sorry tot ell
you that you will not be that lucky with me.”
“You aint got nothing on me bitch.”
“Oh, I beg to differ. I believe I had your man first, didn’t I?”
Sarah felt her stomach turn.
“And you know what? He was good.” Lielle licked her lips making Sarah almost die.
“And you know what else?”
“Not one more word Lielle.”
“He didn’t even have the slightest idea,” Lielle pointed on her fingers to make her
thought sting even more, “it. wasn’t. you.”
Sarah was shaking. She reached behind her and drew out an arrow and for added
effect, made fire burn on it.
“Go to hell you bitch.”
She let the arrow fly, but was sadly let down when Lielle wasn’t hit by it. Lielle moved at
the last minute and the arrow landed in the fountain.
“It will take more than your petty arrows to get me, you little wench.”
“Yeah? How about a sword?”
Sarah heard Toby’s voice ring out as she watched the tip of the sword come out of
Lielle’s body. Lielle turned and, mouth gaping, stared at the young boy smiling a smile
that shined brighter than the sun.
“Toby! What the hell are you doing here?” Sarah yelled and tried to push past Lielle.
Lielle whipped her arm out and clotheslined Sarah, knocking her to the ground.
“You little prick,” she said grasping the sword from behind her. Toby watched in horror
as she pulled the sword from her stomach and brandished it towards him. “You think
your getting away from me?” She lunged at Toby, intending to slice the little shit in half.
Toby dove to the side, but didn’t completely miss the blow.
He felt a hit pain go through his arm and then everything went black.
“Toby?” Sarah rubbed her head as Lielle’s laughter pained her already starting
headache. She looked up and her heart stopped. Blood was enveloping Toby’s limp
body. She crawled over and felt for a pulse. *Thank god.* She looked down at where
the blood was sputtering from and gasped. Toby’s right arm was laying numerous feet
away from them.
“Holy shit.” She quickly grabbed a flag hanging on the fountain and made a barrier to
stop the blood. She moved Toby to steps and then turned to Lielle.
“You Bitch.” Sarah stood and she barely even noticed Jareth and Crystal coming
around the corner. But Lielle did.
“You mean you!” Lielle quickly shape shifted into exactly what Sarah looked like. “How
could you do that? He’s only a kid!”
“What do you mean? And why the hell do you look like me now?”
“Sarah?”
Both Sarah’s turned to find a very tired looking Jareth staring in confusion.
“Yes?” They said in unison.
“Oh my god, what happened to Toby?” Crystal ran over to the limp boy and cradled him
in her arms.
“That bitch tried to slice him in half.” Lielle pointed at Sarah. “And then she changed
into me when she heard you coming around the corner.”
“You mean YOU tired to cut him in half. Jareth, please. It’s me. Sarah.”
“No Jareth, I’m the real Sarah. Not her.”
Sarah walked to Jareth and drew his sword and held it at her throat.
“Jareth, what are you doing?” Sarah asked.
“Until I know which one is the real one, neither of you is going anywhere.”
“And how do you purpose to do that?”
Jareth turned and found Micheal smiling at him. He, like Jareth, had on his battle gear
and brandished a very nice sword.
“Micheal, it’s time to stop this nonsense. Give me back my kingdom, and I may spare
your life.”
Micheal laughed and stepped between the two girls.
“I have another Idea.”
Jareth looked at Micheal for a second and lowered his sword.
“I’m listening.”
Micheal nodded and looked from girl to girl.
“It’s simple. I’ll give you a choice. You, my fine suited brother, may pick one and only
one of these fine ladies. She, the one you pick, will stay alive. The other will be killed,
by you. Die at the hand of your sword. Because if you truly know your soul mate, you
wont be able to kill her.”
“And what if I pick the right Sarah?” Jareth asked.
“I will leave. You can have your kingdom back and be married and have a family or
whatever you plan to do, so be it. But I, I will be gone.”
Jareth breathed in a deep breath and let it slowly out. “And if I loose?”
Micheal’s face gave way to a maliciously evil grin. “Your so called ‘soul mate’ will die.
What purpose will you have being a king if you have no one to share it with?” Micheal
stepped between the girls again and spoke with his back towards Jareth. “The
Labyrinth, your kingdom, your subject, and your title will be mine.”
“And what if I choose to not participate in your little game, Micheal?”
“Then I will kill her myself.”
Jareth thought long and hard. *It seems to risky.*
“And how long do I have to make my decision?”
“Right now brother, within reason. You may ask questions, feel body parts, do whatever
you feel will help you figure out who she is. And if your thinking about seeing whose not
a virgin, your tough out of luck. A little known fact about Lielle’s people. They make
such good lovers because their virginity grows back, over night.”
Both Sarah’s looked at Micheal in astonishment. It took Lielle everything she had not to
smile.
Jareth paced a little. He thought long and hard about the pros and cons. He knew his
brother’s people were few and growing smaller. But beating Micheal after he just
battled all his army, he knew he had not the stamina, nor the will to do such a thing.
“Fine Micheal. I will play your little game.”
“Jareth no,” Sarah burst out.
“I’m not worth it.” Lielle finished her sentence.
Micheal laughed as the girls stared at each other.
“This should be interesting.” Micheal said out loud to the five of them.
“Micheal, so help me god, you go back on your word and I will have your head.” Crystal
yelled from the position she was in, which was holding Toby for all she was worth.
“Shut your mouth Crystal.”
“No, she’s right.” Jareth added. “How do I know you wont go back on your word?”
Micheal smiled a little and then sighed. “No trust, my brother?”
When Jareth didn’t answer Micheal threw his hands in the air and laughed. “Fine, you
have my word. As a fae, as a brother.”
“Right.” Jareth cracked his knuckles and looked at the two Sarah’s.
“Let’s get this started.” Micheal pushed the two to sit on the fountain wall. “When ever
your ready brother.”
Jareth walked in front of them and sighed. *I hate doing this.*
“Alright, question one.”

Right ok. So, now who is going
to be a good girl and write as soon
as she can tomorrow? *looks around*
Oh yeah, me. *smiles* Thanks for sticking
with me this far. I appreciate all the support
and I encourage people to review more. Or more
like I’m telling people to. If you don’t *pulls out whip* it will
be thirty lashes. And if your right into that sort of thing, as I know
some of you people as twisted as me are *grins*, then I will find some
other way to give punishment. I dont know how, I dont know when, but I will.
Oh I will.
