Chapter 15

“Reid? What are you doing here?”

“Visiting you, of course,” he smiled, stepping into the house. He wrapped his arms about her and kissed her lips. “Besides, it’s hard to find alone time with you when Tyler is always hogging you to himself.”

Madison couldn’t help but smile. That was very sweet of him. She had been keeping in touch with her boys by texting and phone calls, and Reid had never once hinted he was coming to see her. Of all the Sons, Reid was the last she’d expect to show up on her doorstep. “How did you get here? I don’t remember you having a car?”

Reid laughed, swinging her out the front door and sweeping his arm toward the driveway where a red Lamborghini was parked. “Of course I have a car. I just couldn’t drive it for six months. My license got suspended - until yesterday.”

Madi walked outside and admired the car. “Nice,” she smiled. “What did you get suspended for?”

“Reckless driving, or so they said,” he shrugged.

She laughed, looking at him in mischief. “Now why aren’t I surprised?”

“You want to drive it?”

“Me? I don’t have my license yet, only a permit. Dad’s going to try to make an appointment for winter break.”

“I don’t care,” he shrugged.

“But I do, Mr. Reckless.”

“Suit yourself, beautiful,” he said, pulling her against him. “How about we go back inside? It’s cold out here. How long will your dad be gone?”

“Horny?”

“Oh, please, Madi,” he rolled his eyes. “I was only thinking of you.”

There he went again. Never wanting to admit that he needed someone. But Madison wasn’t fooled. He did haul himself all the way to Boston, didn’t he?

It was very tempting to stay all day with Reid alone. She sighed, feeling warm and content in his arms. But her friends were waiting for her.

“My friends Raina and Ben are waiting for me at the mall. We’re going Christmas shopping.”

“Ben, huh? Is this someone I need to be concerned about?”

“What do you mean?”

“Is he hot for you?”

Madison laughed, shaking her head. “No, but he might be hot for you.”

Reid gave her a half-smile and shook his head. “O.K., I suppose I could get some Christmas shopping out of the way too. I’ll drive.”

“Um…”

“Don’t worry, I really am a good driver. I made it here from Ipswich with no problems, didn’t I?”

Madison nodded reluctantly. They went inside the house to grab her coat and purse and Reid waited while she locked the house up. “Looks like it’s going to snow any day now,” she mentioned.

“It’s already snowing in Ipswich,” he replied, putting his arm about her as they walked to the car.

“Reid, I kind of told my friends I was dating Tyler. They think you’re just a friend.”

He glanced at her, frowning. “So, no touchy feely?”

“No.”

“Fine, Madi. But I do plan on getting you alone before I head back to Ipswich.”

She slipped her hands into his jacket and around his neck, pulling him down for a kiss. “I insist that you do.”

OOOOOO

Madison was pleasantly surprised at how well Reid got along with Raina and Ben, suspending his typical standoffishness around strangers. She enjoyed seeing him this way, smiling and joking, instead of the mask he usually wore that kept people from getting too close. Raina thought Reid was gorgeous and whispered to Madison about wanting to come visit her in Ipswich when he was out of earshot.

They walked from shop to shop, taking their time to admire and ponder the wares. Madison was glad to have Reid along to ask advice about what the other Sons might like. But the maddening thing was, Reid would not let her spend any of her own money. Faster than she could pull her wallet out of her purse, he’d be handing his credit card to the clerks and not allowing her to argue. If she did try, he’d hiss in her ear, “I will set that wallet on fire, Madi. Put it away.”

After the second time, she pulled Reid off to the side of the store and said, “You can’t just buy all my Christmas gifts for me. That’s just wrong.”

“I can, and I will. I won’t stand by and let you pay, Madi. My brothers would kick my ass. My parents would kick my ass. Hell, I would kick my ass.”

“God, you and Tyler are so… so… old fashioned. You do know what century it is, don’t you?”

“Newsflash, babe, all four of us are like that. It’s how we were raised. Get use to it. Any man that stands by and lets a woman pay is not a real man.”

“But these are my gifts to others. Now it’s like they are from you instead.”

“Don’t be ridiculous. You picked them out. They are from you. It doesn’t matter who paid for them.”

She sighed. Clearly she wasn’t getting through to him. “It’s not necessary. I’ve got money, Reid. I inherited a good amount.”

He grinned and shook his head. “That’s not the point. I will not be unmanned like that, Madi.”

“Unmanned? What is that suppose to mean? It’s not right that you buy almost five hundred dollars worth of gifts that aren‘t from you. Can’t you see that?”

Then he had the audacity to laugh. “Madi, I get five grand a month for allowance and I usually don’t even spend half of that. Believe me, it’s not a problem. In fact, we are going back to the Victoria’s Secret shop we passed by and I’m expecting to drop at least a grand in there to get you lots of those sexy undergarments.”

She sighed, stepping closer and speaking with a low voice so they couldn’t be overheard. “You don’t have to buy my affections. You already have them.”

“Is that what you think I’m doing?” he whispered back, his breath tickling her neck.

Madison shrugged. “If you saw it from my point of view, you might think so too.”

“Well, you’re wrong. We are going to take care of you whether you like it or not.”

“I don’t see you paying for Raina’s gifts and she’s a girl,” Madison huffed.

“That’s different. Raina’s happiness and well being has nothing to do with my happiness and well being. Your’s does. You need to get it through your thick, but beautiful, head that you are important to us and you belong to us.”

Madison sighed. There was just no reasoning with him. The Sons were all very stubborn and set in their ways. She had thought Reid might be more of a rebel in this regard, as he was in most areas of his life, but it was apparent he was just as firmly entrenched in the old family beliefs when it came to her.

OOOOOO

Madison brought Reid home after shopping, ready to introduce him to her father.

“Dad, this is Reid Garwin, one of my friends from Spencer.”

“Nice to meet you, sir,” Reid said, shaking Aaron Marish’s hand.

“And you too, Reid,” Aaron replied, looking a bit surprised. “You live around here?”

“No, I just came down to visit Madison. I’ll be heading back tomorrow.”

“Can he stay here, Dad?” Madison asked, hopefully.

“I don’t think that would be appropriate, Madison,” Aaron replied. “But he’s certainly welcome to stay for dinner. I’d like to get to know your friends better.”

“But, Dad, he drove all the way…”

“No, he’s right, Madison. It wouldn’t be appropriate. Besides, I already have a room in the city,” Reid replied, smoothly.

Aaron Marish smiled, relieved that the boy was so sensible. He would never get any sleep if he had worry about a teenage boy sneaking into his daughter’s room all night.

Madison frowned at Reid and then shook her head. He certainly knew how to win her father over. Hypocrite.

Madison sat quietly in amazement all through dinner as Reid and her father talked. She couldn’t believe how well Reid could behave with parental authority, as he certainly didn’t respect school authority very much. But Aaron Marish and Reid Garwin never seemed to run out of topics to discuss, from Ipswich and the old families, to sports, to politics and to the merits of a good college education. Madison had to admit she was impressed with Reid for schmoozing her father over so well.

At the end of the evening, she walked Reid out to his car.

“That was impressive,” Madison commented.

Reid grinned. “Thank you.” His eyes flicked toward the house. “Don’t stay up too late, Madi,” he said, lifting his eyebrows once, suggestively.

“What are you planning?”

“Shhhhh…” he said, getting into his car. “See you later.”

Madison helped her father with the dishes and then went to bed, wondering what mischief Reid was planning. She looked out of her bedroom window and didn’t see his car anywhere around the neighborhood. She read a book until she got too tired and fell asleep.

OOOOOO

Madison was having a very good dream. She sighed in her sleep as the feeling of a very skilled mouth headed up the inside of her thigh and her leg fell to the side in response. She reached down with both hands as her dream lover moved between her legs, using his tongue on her most intimate parts. Her fingers tangled in his hair as she sleepily moaned in pleasure.

When her dream lover moaned in response, her consciousness began to awaken and she realized that it wasn’t a dream at all. She could see Reid’s blond head in the moonlight between her legs and he made her gasp in pleasure. She had to force herself to remember that her dad’s room was just down the hall and they had better not make too much noise.

“Reid,” she hissed, moving her hips up to meet his magic mouth.

“Hmmmm…?” he hummed against her flesh, sending jolts through her body.

She grabbed her pillow and put it over her mouth so her noises would be muffled and she felt him chuckle at her actions. He seemed determined to make her scream as he continue using his tongue on her while slipping two fingers inside of her, pressing on her pleasure spot from the inside as well.

Madison couldn’t take it anymore and she screamed into her pillow, her legs shaking as her body convulsed. Reid kept gently licking her until she was calm again. When she took the pillow off her face, panting, she found him grinning up at her, satisfied with himself.

“Hope you didn’t mind me waking you up,” he smiled, knowingly.

“Not at all,” she whispered back. “We’ve got to be quiet though.”

“I guessed that much.” He crawled up her body, putting himself between her opens legs and laying on top of her to kiss her. “How would you like a nice, slow, deep fuck, Madi?”

Madison’s senses delighted in the tone of his voice and the naughtiness of his words. “Mmmm… I’d love it,” she sighed.

OOOOO

Madison could barely open her eyes when her dad knocked on her bedroom door in the morning. Thank goodness Reid had remembered to lock it when he’d snuck in.

“Sweetie, I’m off to work. I’ll be back about three today.”

Madison lifted her head and squinted at her clock on her nightstand. Then she put her head back down on Reid’s bare chest. “O.K. Dad. Have a good day.”

“You going to bake desserts today for Thanksgiving?”

“Oh, yeah, I will.”

“All right then, I’ll see you this afternoon.”

“Bye, Dad.”

The front door slammed in the distance and Reid’s arms slowly wrapped around Madison as she rested on him. “You can cook?” he asked.

“Yes. I actually enjoy it. It can be a lot of fun.”

“Well, I can attest that you have the best tasting dessert around.”

Madison laughed and hit his chest playfully. “You’re so bad.”

“But you love it.”

“Yeah, I do,” she sighed. “Do you really have to leave today?”

“Yeah. The four families get together for Thanksgiving every year. They always make a big deal out of it. You should be there, Madison, not here.”

“I should be with my dad on holidays, Reid.”

“I meant that you and your Dad should be in Ipswich. I’m going to see what I can do about that.”

Madison lifted her head and searched his eyes. “What do you mean?”

“Aunts, uncles, cousins,” he shrugged, “surely one of us has a relative in the banking business. If your dad gets a job offer in Ipswich, you think he’d move?”

“Yeah, I think if it was a good offer, he would. He was already talking about finding a way to move closer. But…”

Reid studied her concerned face. “But what?”

“I suppose I’m afraid of him finding out about us, about me I mean. I’m not sure how he’d feel about having a witch for a daughter.”

Reid shrugged. “You could keep it from him. It’s not like you have to use your powers every second of the day. And you can live in the dorms during the school year like we do. That way you’ll have more freedom. But the best part is that you wouldn’t have to leave for Boston on all the holidays and the summers.”

OOOOO

Reid took off shortly after lunch, walking a few blocks to where he had hidden his car. He didn’t want Aaron Marish leaving for working and finding his car parked out front of the house. Madison watched him from the porch until he was out of sight. She smiled to herself, feeling blessed to have the Sons in her life.

Going back inside the house, she cleaned up from lunch and began setting out the ingredients for her pies. Flipping on some music, she sang as she made the dough and mixed the fillings. Then, not an hour later, the doorbell rang. Madison washed her hands quickly, wondering who was here.

When she opened the door she found Reid standing on the porch, his hands in his pockets and grinning sheepishly. “Reid? What’s wrong? Did you forget something?”

Reid stepped into the house and took the door from her hands, shutting it and locking it. “Actually, I thought we could have one more fuck for the road.”

Something seemed off. Madison’s senses felt heavy, strange. She glanced toward the kitchen, her tasks waiting for her. “I’m in the middle of baking. And don’t you need to get back?”

He backed her against the wall, a strange smile on his face. “Perhaps I need you more.”

“We did it all night…”

“And so we’ll do it again,” he said, placing his hands on her hips and bending his face to her neck.

It felt wrong somehow. The kisses on her neck… they were wrong. Madison didn’t feel turned on. She felt repulsed. She placed her hands on his chest and tried to push him away, but it only made him tighten his grip, his fingers digging into her hips.

“Ouch, you’re hurting me,” Madison cried, trying to push harder.

“Shut up,” he growled, shoving her harder against the wall. “Just do your duty, witch, and let me fuck you.”

She struggled as he grabbed her wrists away from hitting him and his eyes flashed, causing the clothing to fall away from their bodies. His black, soulless eyes raked over her body in approval.

“Stop this,” she screamed, trying to struggle out of his grasp. Her powers were weak in the city as there was not much nature around to strengthen her. What had come over Reid? It was like he was possessed.

He pushed her to the floor with his powers, grinning malevolently at her. “Fight me, witch. Let me see what you can do.”

Didn’t he already know?

Madison tried to move away on the floor as he stepped closer to her. What was happening? She cried, scared for Reid and what he would do to her.

Then he pounced, covering her with his body, using his power to subdue her and stop her from resisting. Madi lay weeping as he entered her, pumping furiously. She squeezed her eyes shut, willing this ordeal to be over with and not wanting to believe that it was really happening.

But then she felt it, the lifting, the floating. Her back hit the ceiling and her eyes flew open. This wasn’t Reid! Reid had not ascended yet. There was only one person she knew that could have sex on the ceiling with her.

“Caleb?”

The fake Reid turned his face to hers, an angry snarl filling his features. He shoved into her hard, making her head smack against the ceiling and sending jolts of pain throughout her body.

“Don’t ever call me that name,” he growled.

Madison turned her face away, trying to forget any feeling her body experienced and willing this to be over with. In a few more minutes she gasped as her body fell to the floor and she was no longer being touched by the fake Reid. It was painful to push herself up to her hands and knees, but she managed to do so, crawling to the coat stand and pulling her coat off the rack in order to wrap herself in it.

She felt him standing there, watching her every move, but she didn’t want to look at him. Who the hell was he? If it was Caleb, had he gone insane?

She finally looked up as she huddled against the wall, her coat pulled over her naked, sore body. His eyes were cold and calculating as he stared at her with disgust.

“You’re not Reid,” she said.

“I’m not?” he replied.

Madison shook her head. “Reid and I don’t end up on the ceiling. He’s not ascended.”

Then he laughed. “You don’t? Well, well, well, I learn something new all the time. Guess I goofed. I should have come as Danvers.”

Before Madison’s eyes, Reid’s image faded into someone else she had never seen before - a young man with dirty blond hair staring at her in expectation.

OOOOOO

A/N Yikes, what’s going to happen? You’ll find out soon. Sorry to end it on such a scary scene. I hope I’ll see some reviews. Thanks! And in case there is any confusion, the real Reid did show up at Madison’s house and spent the night. Only the one who arrived as she was baking is the fake.
