The next day I'm woken by someone and look to see Jack smiling at
me and I yawn.
Jack: Ok, get up, got to sell the papes.
Morgan: You're awfully cheerful today.
Jack: It's a nice day out and well I was thinking about what you
said yesterday.
Morgan: Really?
Jack: Yeah, so let's sell and then we can spend the day together
ALONE.
Jack stresses Alone and well I have no idea what he's up to and just
smile. I get ready and head to the D.O with the newsies. I listen to
them talk about Medda and the show that they are going to see
tonight. I don't want to go.
Mush: Lit'l Bit, you going to the show tonight?
Morgan: I don't...
I didn't get to finish my sentence.
Jack: Not tonight Mush.
Jack gives Mush a look and he gets his papes.
Morgan: Jack what's going on?

We get our papes and go to a spot to sell, I of course try to sell
all my papes and I sell all but four of them. By the time we get

We get in and sit at a booth; I lean back and wait for the waiter
who comes right away to take our order. I order my usual and Jack
orders his. Once we're alone I look at him and smile.
Morgan: Jack I told you that I don't plan on being with just one
newsie.
Jack: I know you said that.
Morgan: I still have a few I want yet.
Jack leans over to whisper.

Once they leave I go to the sickroom to shower, not noticing that
someone had come in behind me. I feel a hand as it clamps over my

up. I wrap a towel around my body and dry off; I put on clean
clothes I had bought with my own money I had saved up. The ones I
had stolen are being washed. I fix my hair and then put on my
glasses, wrapping the bandana around my wrist for safe keeping.
Jack: Let's go on the roof.
Morgan: Ok.
I follow Jack up there and he has it all set up. I smile at the
small set up and then sit down on the blanket.
Morgan: What's all of this Jack, I told you already that I didn't
want to get involved with just one newsie.
Jack: I know, but I can't help it, I think I'm falling in love with
you Morgan.
Morgan: Well don't!
I get up and run to the stairs, running down them too fast and then
I'm running out the door and into the street, I'm not looking where
I am and someone bumps into me and then blackness.
