CHAPTER 16 – ANGEL’S CONFRONTATION WITH LEXUS

Angel came to her senses and opened her swollen eyes, the sun had already come up and she looked around and noticed she was in her home balcony.

“Blade! He brought me home! Silly son of bitch… a vampire fighting his soul…!” She sighed and walked in, she fed Fangs and looked at the clock, her mind was void, she felt empty, but she had to go to work and she was 3 hours late already, maybe In the silence of the library she could think in what to do. She just washed her face re-did her make-up and left.
Cass was there as always, waiting for her friend.

“Hey girl, you look like shit! What happened?” Angels looked at her and her eyes were flooded with tears. She though she didn’t have any tears left for the much she cried the night before.

“Something happened to Vince! He’s not in town and he didn’t meet me yesterday… I stood up all night!” Angel said sitting down.

“Do you wanna talk about it?” Cass asked softly

“You wouldn’t understand Cass, believe me. You wouldn’t!”

“Try me! Something tells me, I should start believing your so called bullshit! Right?” Angel looked at Cass “Go ahead, I’m ready to listen to ANYTHING! Just talk girl!” Angel sighed and breathed deep.

“Ok… here goes nothing! Vince IS a vampire, they do exist! And we are in love!” Cass sat down in shock. “See, I told you, you wouldn’t understand.”

“Girl, if you say so, who am I to doubt it, but it is out of this world!” Angel took her hand over to her left breast and pulled the bodice down a bit showing the two fang marks. Cass’ eyes opened wide.

“It’s ok, he didn’t turn me, I asked him to drink from me the same way I drank from him… it’s a kind of a love ritual between vampires!” Angel said smiling a little.

“Didn’t it hurt?”

“No way, it is the biggest rush you could ever have. You can even cum with that feeling!” Angel said breathing harder.

“Really?”

“Hell, yes! It’s out of this world, and even better when it’s done in other places…!” Cass’s eyes narrow into a nasty look.

“You don’t say!” Cass said nastily.

“I do say… anyway, Lexus, a friend of his, a master vampire came back to town and Chupa… that’s Vince vampire name, he had to meet with him, and since then I haven’t heard from him or seen him!” Angel said sighing heavily.

“Hey girl, that doesn’t mean something happen to him!” Cass tried to reassure her friend.

“It did… I felt a pain in my chest, and then a void… I can’t feel his presence anymore!” Angel started crying.

“You mean you felt him?”

“Yes when we made love, we bonded somehow, and exchanging blood made the bond stronger, we could feel each other feelings and read each others mind! I can’t feel him anymore… something…!” The clock on the wall stroke 8 and she jumped to the sound of it. “Shit!” she suddenly got up and looked around, no one was there. Cass got up too.

“Stay behind me Cass!” Angel said smelling the surroundings.

“What? We are not alone by the look in your face! Are we safe here…?” Cass said scared.

“Yes…don’t worry, it’s a friend of Vince!” She looked to a corner in the library and walked two steps towards it.

“Hi… you were in the park last night!”

“Yes, I was… thank you for helping me with Blade!”

“What is he talking about?” Cass asked. The shadow looked at Cass and smiled, he kept himself in the shadows. They could see his, shadow but not him.

“Long story, Blade is another vampire, but he is a fucking vampire slayer…!” Angel was interrupted.

“Yes… and if it wasn’t for Angel here, he would have killed me! I owe you my unlife, and I also owe Chupa my unlife, he saved me from termination once, so… I have to do this, even if it means betraying my kind!”

“What is your name? You can at least tell me that… I won’t tell!” Angel said.

“Vampires can read minds, it will be safer if you didn’t know it or didn’t see my face, that is why I’m keeping myself in the dark!”

“Ok… what do you have to tell me?” Angel said breathing in some air getting ready for the worst.

“Chupa’s life is in danger… I’m sorry! This all thing of your love was too much for the vampires to handle… he is not here anymore… he was taken… but I don’t know where! I am terribly sorry!” Angel clenched her fist and her face was filled with anger, her eyes became red blooded with rage. The vampire stepped back into the corner amazed at the sight of her face.

“Who knows where Chupa is?” Angel bluntly asked.

“I don’t know, maybe the vampires in the coven know… I really do not know…! I have to go… Angel… I’m sorry! I really am… I owe you my unlife… but I can’t help you more then telling you the truth!” He said walking back.

Cass tried to look at that shadow; she was overwhelmed by it all.

“Cass, go straight home, and stay there… you know too much. GO! I’m going to follow him!”

“What!?” Before Cass could even argue, Angel picked up her long coat and left.

Angel looked around and tried to sense the vampire, her sense had been enhanced since she and Chupa made love and exchanged blood. She could feel her blood boil in her veins and her senses were very much alert. She picked up his sent and ran following it, trying not to loose track of it, she would’ve lost it if she took to long. She ran like crazy up and down the streets all along the park. She couldn’t breathe and her legs were giving in. She was running faster than she ever did. She finally stopped outside Harlem and fell on the floor with her muscles clenching all over, breathing heavily. She tried to focus but her mind was blurry from the effort she made running. She got up, focused her mind on Chupa and regained her strengths automatically. She walked up a hill, sensing something nearby.

“What are you doing here?” Boomed out from the darkness.

She grinned “I know what I’m doing here but WHAT are YOU doing here Blade?”

Blade came out from the shadows looking at her. She looked so menacing; the way she stood and walked was different, her stance transpired superiority over him, over anything for that matter.

“What are you looking at?” She hissed at him.

“You… you changed… you look unbreakable, I sense some kind of power in you!” Blade stated.

“Well… I have Chupa’s blood on me!” She replied crossing her arms over her chest looking at him.

“No, it’s not that… I know his strength, his power, what I feel from you is, different…”

“And it scares you, doesn’t it?!” She spat out at him taking him by surprise. It did scare him. He was dealing with something unknown. He cleared up is throat to speak.

“Where are you going?”

“To the coven, I sense it’s near!”

Blades eyes opened wide. “You are walking to your death… I can’t let you do that!” Blade stepped towards her to stop her, she looked at him from head to toe felling a strange energy building up on her and focused on it. As soon as Blade is in her reach, she summersaults over him grabbing his sword taking it of from his coat. Blade was so taken off guard he didn’t even blink. She held the sword in a fighting stance and looked him in the eyes.

“TRY AN STOP ME!” She boomed out, pointing the sword at his face.

“You wouldn’t kill me, and you’re lucky my sword is on safety lock or you would be one handed woman now!” She looked at the sword and back at him. He grinned at her, tipped his head sideways snapping his neck, and looked back at her.

“Stand in my way and I fucking will!” She said growling at him so menacingly Blade was taken aback by her words.

“Then I’m going with you!” He spat at her. She looked at him tipping her head studying him.

“Yes… I remember, you promised Chupa, you would protect me… and as you’ve said, you are a man of your word! Right?” She lowered the sword, but not her guard.

“Yes, I am!”

“Fine… but you’re going into a vampire coven… I do not what unnecessary trouble, hear me!” She spat out at him.

“Fine… what ever!” Blade replied walking towards her to get his sword.

“I think I gave you an order and I didn’t get a proper reply!” Angel hisses at him. Blade narrowed his eyes, his anger building in. “She did give me an order, no one orders me around, why the fuck am I complying with her?” Blade thought, not being able to do otherwise.

“As you say Angel!” Blade replied, not believing his own words.

“Much better… let’s go… and I’ll borough your sword if you don’t mind!”

“Hey, make yourself at home. You already have it don’t you?” Blade growled at her. She grinned at him, and they walked up hill to the abandoned house. She looked around

“I know a way in…” Angel looked at Blade inquisitive.

“I followed Chupa several times!” He simply replied.

“And you never went in there…? Never tried to kill them?” Angel asked waiving the sword getting used to its weight in case she would need to use it. She swung the sword and cut some blows in the air.

“No… I tried killing Chupa several times but failed, I never fail!” Angel swung the sword swiftly at him catching him off guard, stopping at the side of his neck. He could see her anger building up to his words.

“Jesus, have you ever used one of those?”

“No Blade, first time!” She hissed at him keeping her anger under control and backing off.

“Fuck, you’re damned good woman!”

“Good! So don’t fuck with me and let’s go…!” Angel said signalling him to lead the way. They walked to a backdoor leading to a basement and went in. She felt her senses extremely high. She focused to adapt to the darkness and moved on in front of Blade. They could feel presences all around and terror in them. They weren’t attacking.

“They are not attacking... Why?” Angels looked around them.

“Guess they never had a plan to something like US! A kick-ass human girl and the Daywalker walking in their coven!” Blade laughed loud.

Angel grinned, feeling triumphant “Guess you are right!” she said wickedly and kept the sword up in a guard stance. They walked through the corridors that lead to a grand hall. She stepped in, felling more of them around, she focused solely on Chupa calming her senses and keeping her control in check.

“This is going to get messy!”

“Just stay behind me Blade and don’t pull any of your stunts!” Angel said moving to the centre of the hall. Blade joined her. They looked around, keeping their backs to each other, ready for any attack.

“I WANT TO SEE LEXUS!” She boomed out. The vampires moved closer to them. Angel looked at them through her eyelashes moving in circles with Blade, pin pointing everyone in the room.

“What do you want from me?” Came the reply. She looked at the man standing in front of her. She got a step closer, lowering the sword beside her body.

“Answers!” She spat out. Lexus looked at her from head to toe walking around her; she followed his every movement using her catlike movements.

“Hum… boldness, superiority, power… yes it is Her!” Lexus thought grinning. “And she’s trying to study me! Good!” Angel kept her eyes on him all the time and her ears on the other vampires.

“What do you want to know?” Lexus finally asked.

“Where is Chupa?” She spat.

“You came all the way here, into the vampire coven to ask ME, where is Chupa? Do you love him that much?” Angel had an evil grin on her lips.

“I though you were a master, you are not as perceptive as I though you would be!”

“ARE YOU CHALLENGING ME?” Lexus hissed at her, hovering closer, Angel didn’t budge.

“This is getting out of control here!” Blade told her. Moving around trying to protect her back.

“No Lexus, I’m just stating the obvious, a powerful vampire like yourself should know what a human like me is thinking!” Angel spat at him teasingly. Lexus let out a loud laugh. Blade’s muscles tensed and he looked at Angel, but she kept calm and focused on Lexus. The vampires started to encircle them hissing. Blade grabbed his guns and pulled them out.

“NO!!” She boomed lowering his guns not taking her eyes of Lexus “We didn’t come here for that!” Blade lowered his guns.

“Hum… she definitely overpowers him!” Lexus thought.

“You should call your children back Lexus, I didn’t come here to pick up a fight! I just want to know where is Chupa!” Lexus nodded, waved his hand to the vampires and they backed away.

“I can’t help you, he was taken by a higher force… there is nothing I can do!”

“And you are just going to stand by and watch your friend die? IS THAT THE WAY YOU STICK TOGETHER?”

“It’s out of my reach to help him!”

“HE TRUSTS YOU! YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE HIS FRIEND!” Angel’s anger started to build in so fast her body was stiffening, her blood boiling so much the vampires stepped back. She was emanating a strange menacing rage and her aura was scaring them.

Lexus just looked at her with a happy smile on his face. She was reaching the ultimate level.

“ARE YOU, OR ARE YOU NOT GOING TO TELL ME WHERE HE IS?!” She boomed in Lexus face.

“Angel do you know what you are doing?” Blade asked looking at her. She ignored him.

“Just to think he lived with you, he protected you, and this is the thanks he gets! You bad excuse for vampires!!” She boomed in anger.

Every vampire in the hall was looking at Lexus, waiting for him to give a go to the attack.

Lexus breathed deep “All I can do or tell you is… where he was taken! Nothing more, nothing less!”

“I’m listening…”

“Mohave Desert – California! And that is all, I’m afraid it is too late for him… even if you’re thinking on going there, which you are… you’ll never get there in time!”

“Well… does any of you vampires here care enough for Chupa to stand up for him and help?” She turned to the crowd. They all backed away and hissed at her, pissed off with her stance. One of them stepped forward. She looked at him and smiled.

“What are you doing? Do you want to die?” Lexus boomed out. Smiling inside.

“I owe her my life, and I owe Chupa my life!” Was the vampire’s simple answer.

“YOU OWE HER YOUR LIFE?!” Lexus spat out loud.

“Yes, last night, she saved me from Blade, and you know Chupa saved me from annihilation!” Lexus looked at her. She was focused on the vampire that came forth to help. She walked to him looking into his eyes.

“Yesssss!” She said softly “You! I’ve seen you in my visions! What is your name my friend!” She said in a motherly tone reaching for his face touching it with her hand, very softly. The vampire shivered to her warm words and touch.

“Danz! My Lady!” She walked closer to him, he was taller then her, much taller, she inhaled his scent and walked around him.

“Yes it is you; I remember your scent, your face! So… are you ready to help Chupa?” Danz looked at Lexus and than at her, he knew better then to challenge his master but she had a strong hold on him.

“YES!”

“Good! We are wasting time! Let’s go! Oh… and Lexus, I hope he survives… because if he doesn’t, I will be back… and next time I won’t stop Blade!” She growled at Lexus and moved away, sided by Blade and Danz. Hissing at the other vampires making them back away from her.

“Curious trio!” He thought to himself. “She is coming!” Lexus sent to the Elders.
