Chapter 16:
A/N: Okay it has been quite a while since I last updated and I apologize for the delay. Here is the latest edition and I hope you enjoy it! Read and review please!!
Will stared out at the dark water that sparkled only when moonlight danced across it’s onyx colored surface briefly. His eyes darted everywhere but searched for nothing in particular as he frowned at the tangled mess of thoughts that tumbled around in his head. For the first time in what seemed like forever to him he suddenly found himself doubting his course of action over the past few months. Will had begun feeling every bit the traitor that he knew he had become. It made his heart ache when he realized just how far he had been willing to go just so that he could have Elizabeth back in his arms. And for what purpose? To have her miserable and mourning for Jack the rest of her life? He knew that her heart now completely belonged to the pirate that had once leapt off the docks in Port Royal to rescue her from drowning when he hadn’t even known her name.
And now they shared the bond of a child even though the child had yet to be born. Will couldn’t ignore that this would only serve to strengthen their already seemingly unbreakable bond. His dark eyes stung as tears pricked them threatening to fall at a moment’s notice. He squeezed his eyes shut tightly only to feel the hot tears escape through his thick lashes to trickle down his cheeks. Will cursed under his breath as he angrily wiped his cheeks with the back of his hand. Looking down at the teardrops that glistened on the back of his hand he frowned as he quickly lowered his hand and wiped away the offending moisture onto his breeches. He didn’t deserve to allow himself to feel the pain of his loss. No not since he had helped in chasing his former would be bride across the seas. Will had willingly assisted Commodore Norrington in his relentless pursuit of Jack and Elizabeth. How could he ever expect Elizabeth to forgive him let alone still love him?
He couldn’t, that was something that most likely would never again be a possibility between the two of them. No Elizabeth had long since stopped having such feelings for him. It was Jack Sparrow who made her heart race and made butterflies stir in her stomach whenever he looked at her. Will scowled as a sudden and very unwelcome image of Jack making love to Elizabeth flashed into his mind. Shaking his head he once again stared out to the dark and eerily calm sea that stretched out around him. He had to do something, make a choice. And it had to be quick because in a few short hours they would be weighing anchor to set sail for Shipwreck Cove. He sighed as he wrestled with the decision before clenching his fists and pushing away from the ship’s railing. Yes he would do what it was that his heart had been pleading with his all this time to do. He would show Elizabeth just how much he truly loved her by setting her free to be with Jack Sparrow. Will hurried across the deck as quietly as he could manage over to the other side of the Interceptor where he knew the longboats to be secured. Looking around quickly he then began silently and quickly loosening the rope that secured one of the longboats to the side of the ship. Will climbed inside the longboat and began lowering the boat as fast as he could manage.
Thinking he had been successful in leaving the ship Will began rowing towards Shipwreck Cove once he had lowered the longboat into the water. From his place high above in the crow’s nest the soldier that had been keeping watch had noticed Will leaving in the longboat. He quickly scurried down the rigging until his feet touched the deck and then he raced over to the Commodore’s cabin. Knocking frantically on the door he jumped back a bit startled when the it swung open quickly. The Commodore emerged looking rather annoyed by having been woken up. “What the bloody hell is it Wilkes?”
“Commodore it’s Mr. Turner sir!”
“What about him?”
“He’s taken one of the longboats from the ship sir.”
Norrington smiled before replying. “Has he now?” Wilkes nodded and waited for the Commodore to continue. “Well that took a bit longer than I expected but he finally did just exactly as I thought he would.”
“Beg pardon sir?”
“Mr. Turner is in love with Elizabeth and so he feels the undeniable urge to make her happy in any way that he can. And it seems that he has decided that the only way she will truly be happy is to be allowed to live with that scoundrel pirate Jack Sparrow and have their bastard child.”
“Orders then sir?”
“Take a group of men out in a longboat and do whatever you must to secure Mr. Turner. See that he is brought back to the ship alive so that I might have a word with him?”
“Aye Commodore.”
Wilkes rushed below decks to gather four more soldiers and they quickly appeared back above deck. Norrington watched with a smirk as they loaded into a longboat and lowered it to the water to give chase after Will. When they had set out he turned and headed back into his cabin. Sitting down at his desk Norrington began drumming his fingers against the surface of the desk in anticipation to confront Will. It was obvious to him that Will had decided to betray the Royal Navy and try to help Elizabeth and her pirate husband escape to safety. Fortunately for him his soldier that had been on watch had truly been doing his duty and not simply cat napping up in the crow’s nest. Once Will had been safely returned to the Interceptor Norrington decided he would place him in shackles down in the brig. Shackles would be absolutely necessary since Will could easily escape the brig without them.
Out in the water Will continued rowing without looking back. He was desperate to reach Shipwreck Cove before it was discovered that he had commandeered one of the longboats with the intention of helping the fugitives to safety. Glancing back over his shoulder his eyes widened when he took notice of the longboat that was in pursuit of him a short distance away. Rowing faster Will grunted as he tried to create more distance between them. His ears could hear the sounds of the pistols firing behind him. Ducking down as far as he could manage he looked desperately in front of him seeing that the entrance to Shipwreck Cove’s harbor was nearly upon him. Without hesitation Will hurled himself into the dark waters and began feverishly swimming towards it.
Under the water he could hear the muffled sounds of the soldiers as they shouted to each other. The faint firing of the pistols could still be heard as well. And he kicked his legs even harder when a shot from one of the soldiers pistols surged dangerously close to him leaving a trail of bubbles in it’s wake. Will pushed his body forward sliding through the dark water thankful that he had the cover of night to aide him in his desperate attempt to escape the soldiers who were trying to capture him. His lungs burned forcing his attention to the fact that he was quickly becoming desperately in need of oxygen. Pushing his head quickly above the waves he took a deep breath before forcing himself back underneath the protection of the water. He couldn’t afford to take more than half a breath before re-submerging himself. Finally his eyes made out the faint shape of the pier’s long timber columns underneath the water and he pushed his legs to carry him faster towards it.
Will reached out and touched the wooden column to guide himself around to the side where he could safely climb up it. He began scaling the column quickly and hoisted himself up onto it when he reached the top. Panting Will forced himself to his feet and began running down the pier. His tired legs led him towards the mass of twisted shipwrecks that was the fort known as Shipwreck City. His lungs were burning and every muscle in his body screamed in agony but he forced himself on. Knowing that if he stopped to rest he would be caught. Once at the large foreboding looking doors of the fortress he began to pound relentlessly. Soon the large iron doors opened and a pirate grabbed him by the collar of his shirt roughly hauling him inside the fortress. The doors slammed shut and Will found himself being forced onto the floor on his stomach. A foot pressed into the middle of his back harshly to keep him from moving. And then a gruff sounding voice called out to him. “What business ye have here boy?”
“My name is Will Turner, please I need to speak with Jack Sparrow immediately!”
“That’s Captain Jack Sparrow t’ ye boy!”
“Yes, yes Captain Jack Sparrow! Please I need to speak with him, it’s urgent!”
The commotion had roused the curiosity of the few pirates that had been playing a game of liar’s dice in the dining hall drawing them out into the main entrance of the fortress. One of them stepped forward to speak. “Oy what’s all the noise bout Jarod?”
Jarod turned and addressed the pirate who had spoken. “This whelp says he needs t’ speak t’ Captain Jack.”
The pirate whose name Will did not know spoke again. “Jus’ what business do ye have with Captain Jack boy?”
“I have news of The Royal Navy who pursues him and Elizabeth.”
“How do ye know Captain Jack’s wife?”
Will flinched visibly at the mention of Elizabeth being Jack’s wife before he spoke again. “I’m a friend of hers and Jacks. Please it’s very important that I speak with him!”
Jarod was just about to say something else when the familiar chuckle of Jack’s echoed across the foyer where they were gathered. Will and the rest of the men looked to where the laughter had come from and they say Jack standing at the foot of the staircase just to the left of them. “Ah I see ye finally caught up t’ me William.” Jack signaled for Jarod to let William up and he did immediately.
Back on his feet Will walked over to where Jack stood on the stairs. “Jack you and Elizabeth have to get out of here fast. Norrington is just outside the harbor and he knows that I’ve come to warn you!”
“T’ what do I owe this sudden act of friendship William?”
“It’s Elizabeth…..”
“Ah yes, Elizabeth, of course it’s bout her. Why else would ye risk yer life? Ye do know that she’s me wife William?”
Will couldn’t hide the scowl that twisted his face as he spoke. “Yes I know that she’s your wife Jack.”
“Then why would ye help her now?”
“Because I…..” His voice trailed and his eyes lowered to his boots.
“Ye still love her. And yer hoping that this act of charity will put ye back in her good graces?”
“No I know that it’s too late for Elizabeth to forgive me for my actions against the two of you. But I do not wish to further help make her suffer any longer. Please Jack, take Elizabeth and leave Shipwreck Cove! I’m begging you, please, while it’s still safe!”
“An what bout ye William?”
“I can get myself out of here.”
“Nonsense. Elizabeth would never forgive me if I left ye behind.”
“Jack where is she? We have to hurry.”
“Elizabeth is upstairs asleep. Wait here I’ll go get her.”
Will nodded and watched as Jack turned and then ran up the stairs quickly. He ran down the long hallway until he finally reached their quarters. Jack rushed into the room and over to the bed falling to his knees quickly. His hands raised to touch Elizabeth’s shoulders and give her a gentle shake to wake her up. Her brown eyes fluttered open quickly and she sat up startled. “Oh Jack, you scared me!”
“Sorry love, but get up. We have t’ go.”
“Jack?”
“Quickly love, let’s go!” He could see the confusion on her face as she moved to get out of bed. “I’ll explain everything once we’ve boarded the Pearl safely, savvy?”
Nodding Elizabeth moved to throw on a pair of black breeches and then stepped into her boots quickly. Jack grabbed the burlap sack that she had carried her things in and quickly stuffed her wedding gown along with the other belongings she had acquired along the course of their time on the run into it. Flinging the bag over his shoulder he took Elizabeth’s hand and led her out of the room and down the stairs. Once they reached the bottom of the stairs her eyes widened in panic when they came to rest on Will. “Jack?”
“It’s alright love, he’s here as a friend, more or less.”
Will looked up at Elizabeth his dark eyes falling down to notice her pregnant stomach immediately. He felt a twinge of pain surge through his heart. Then finding his voice he addressed Jack. “Jack we have to get out of here quickly. The Interceptor is just outside the harbor.”
“The Pearl is docked at the pier on the backside of the fortress. We can get there by exiting the south entrance of it an’ the Royal Navy will never even know we’ve left mate.”
Still holding Elizabeth’s hand tightly he began walking down the grand hallway that spanned the entire length of the fortress. Will quickly followed suit silently not really knowing what to say to either of them. After what had seemed like forever they finally reached the large iron doors that led out to the pier that framed the smaller harbor at the back of the fortress. Jack pushed open one of the heavy doors and waited for Elizabeth and Will to pass through it before he pulled it closed behind him once more. Elizabeth reached out for Jack’s hand lacing her fingers with his immediately. This did not go unnoticed by Will and he merely turned his eyes away from the two. Jack was moving them along at a quick pace so they reached the pier quickly still under the protective cover of night. There before them was the Black Pearl secured to the pier. Jack untied the rope that held the Pearl to the pier before he climbed over the side of the ship. He quickly lowered the gangplank so that Elizabeth and Will could board the ship.
Once onboard he saw that Marty was up in the crow’s nest keeping watch. He called up to him. “Marty!”
“Captain?”
“Aye, Elizabeth an’ meself are in need of a quick escape mate!”
Jack ran to the lower deck where the rest of the crew was sleeping and he began shouting loudly to wake everyone. “Wake up ye lazy dogs! I need all hands on deck! I want movement an’ I want it now!”
His crew sprang to life startled by his abrupt appearance below decks. They rushed to throw on their boots and race up the steps to the main deck. Elizabeth and Will watched as the crew scurried about the deck around them in a frenzy. They prepared to make a hasty retreat out of the harbor. “Weigh anchor an’ head out t’ open water quickly!”
Gibbs was at the helm and began steering the Pearl out of the small harbor. “Captain?”
“Aye?”
“What are we running from sir?”
“The Commodore is jus’ outside the front harbor of Shipwreck Cove. Our dear friend William here was kind enough t’ warn us bout them.”
Gibbs shot an untrusting glance at Will who merely looked out to sea as if there was something more interesting out there. In a quieter voice Gibbs addressed Jack about Will. “Sir, ye think it wise t’ trust that traitorous bilge rat with yer wife?”
“William loves her, that’s undeniably clear, he’ll not put her life in danger.”
“Aye not her life, but what bout yers Captain?”
With a broad grin Jack replied. “Ye don’t think me foolish enough t’ totally trust the whelp do ye Gibbs?”
“I thought not sir.”
“Good then relax an’ jus’ worry bout getting us out of here.”
Onboard the Interceptor the soldiers had managed to make it back to the ship with both longboats in possession. Wilkes was the first back onboard and immediately was met by Commodore Norrington. “Well where is he?”
“I regret to report back that our mission was a failure sir.”
“A failure? You let him get away?”
Wilkes nodded his eyes cast downward at his boots to avoid the Commodore’s steely glare.
“Damn! Now how the hell are we going to capture Jack Sparrow and return Elizabeth safely home to Port Royal?”
“I’m sorry sir.”
“I don’t want to hear your apologies! We’ll not be able to penetrate the defenses of Shipwreck City.”
“So then we’re giving up sir?”
“Not giving up, just retreating to regroup is all. Weigh anchor and sail for England where we can restock and plan our next course of action.”
“Aye Commodore!”
Norrington watched as the soldiers scurried about the deck of the Interceptor carrying out his orders. When they had begun moving he excused himself to his cabin. Sinking down into the chair at his desk he placed his head in his hands and began rubbing his temples exhaustedly. After a moment a smile began to creep onto his face. This was perfect! He couldn’t have planned it better himself if he had asked Will to seek out Jack and Elizabeth! Now that Will was with Jack it would only be a matter of time before he couldn’t ignore the impulse to rescue Elizabeth from the scoundrel pirate and turn him over to the Royal Navy. Yes soon enough Will would again betray Jack Sparrow by delivering him to Port Royal.
Back onboard the Pearl Jack and Gibbs were still talking at the helm leaving Elizabeth on the main deck with Will. They had stood at the railing in silence for quite some time now. Will finally managed to break the silence. “You look well Elizabeth.”
“You mean I look really pregnant.”
He turned to look at her his eyes again falling to the noticeable pregnant bump underneath her shirt. “No that’s not what I meant Elizabeth. I meant that it looks like Jack has been taking good care of you that’s all.”
“He does. Jack loves me Will, and he loves our baby.”
At hearing this Will scowled making no attempt to hide the fact that he still cared for her.
“Why did you help us Will?”
“I don’t know.”
“Yes you do.”
Sighing heavily he took one of her hands in his own. “Alright, I did it because I still love you Elizabeth.”
Pulling her hand out of his grasp she stared up at him her normally warm brown eyes hard as she glared up at him. “It’s too late for you to try and get back in my good graces Will. Too many hurtful things have been done to go back.”
“Would you if they hadn’t?”
She shook her head before speaking. “No. I’m sorry Will, but I’m in love with Jack. He’s my husband.”
Will frowned as he watched Elizabeth make her way towards the captain’s cabin. She caught Jack’s attention and he abruptly ended his conversation with Gibbs to follow her into their quarters. Will sighed heavily as he made his way to the back of the Pearl. Finding a barrel that was nestled beside the captain’s cabin he sank down onto it. Leaning his head back against the wall he realized he could hear Jack and Elizabeth.
Jack walked up behind Elizabeth his calloused hands finding their way up underneath her shirt. She gave a small gasp as his hands slid up over her breasts making her nipples harden. “Jack!”
He pressed his rapidly growing erection against her backside and ground into her. Twisting in his embrace she turned to face him and pressed her mouth against his hungrily. Jack could feel her desperate need for him in her kiss as he walked them over to the bed. Gently he pushed her down onto it and knelt down to take off her boots. Elizabeth lay back on the bed as she felt Jack’s fingers unfastening her breeches. She raised her hips allowing him to slide the breeches off her body. A small squeak tore from the back of her throat as she felt Jack’s mouth against her sex his tongue delving in between her folds. Sitting up Elizabeth hastily removed her shirt. Her hands grabbed at Jack’s shirt trying to tug it off. Jack stood up and began removing his clothes quickly. Elizabeth watched him undress licking her lips in anticipation of what was to follow.
Her brown eyes fell to his throbbing erection watching the thick head of it brush lightly against his belly. She felt herself dampen at the thought of feeling him buried inside her to the hilt. Jack grabbed Elizabeth’s hips and carefully turned her so that she was on her hands and knees. He climbed onto the bed behind her and easily guided himself into her welcoming heat. Elizabeth moaned out his name loudly. “Oh Jack!”
Outside the cabin from his place on the barrel Will scowled when he heard the wanton moan of Jack’s name fall from Elizabeth’s mouth. It was obvious what they were doing but he couldn’t force himself to move away from the cabin. Instead he pressed his ear closer to the wall and strained to listen more.
Jack began pumping against Elizabeth roughly. This was not going to be a gentle joining and he needed to take advantage of any opportunity that remained to ravage his lovely and very pregnant wife. Because before long he knew they wouldn’t be able to be together like this until after the runt was born. His low grunts mixed with Elizabeth’s gasps and whimpers filled the room as they moved against each other. Jack could feel her inner muscles beginning to spasm around him slowly at first. Then he gave a few hard circular thrusts against her making her push back against him wildly. Elizabeth cried out as her inner walls began desperately clenching Jack’s cock. “Oh!! Oh God……Jack, yes!! Yes Jack!! Harder!”
Jack grinned as he pushed harder and deeper into her convulsing channel drawing him ever closer to his impending orgasm. Soon his climax was upon him. Jack threw his head back and cried out his release hoarsely. “Oh God…..fuck Elizabeth!!!!” He thrust his hips hard against her one last time sending his seed shooting from his cock into her womb.
Will sighed and closed his eyes as he clenched his fists upon hearing Jack cry out Elizabeth’s name as he finished. No doubt that the scoundrel had spent inside of her. And why not, she was pregnant already, so it wasn’t like he had to be careful. Tears pricked Will’s eyes as he thought about the child that Elizabeth carried and how he desperately wished it was his instead of Jack Sparrow’s. God how he loved her still. But he was painfully aware that her heart no longer belonged to him. No her heart had ceased belonging to him the very day that Jack Sparrow had leapt into Port Royal’s harbor to rescue her. She just hadn’t realized it until much later. Rising from the barrel Will walked down below decks to find a hammock to sleep in. He was exhausted and sleep would be a welcome distraction to push thoughts of Jack and Elizabeth’s lovemaking from his mind.
A/N: Okay this was a good stopping point. So Will has defected back to Jack and Elizabeth’s side, for now at least. Will he be able to resist trying to win Elizabeth back?
