Starting Over

CHAPTER 17: Reunion

Leon and Vince make their way to Letty and embrace her in a hug.

"When did you get back girl?" Leon asks still holding on to her.

"Well I've been in LA for a few days now, but I wanted it to be a surprise, so I called Jesse and told him to pick me up" Letty says brushing some loose hairs out of her face and looks over to Dom.

Dom sees Letty and is amazed, 'She looks good' he thinks to himself, She is actually dressed like a girl. She had some tight stone washed jeans with a black peasant shirt and sandals!

Dom looks over at Eva who can't seem to take her eyes off of Letty. He quickly makes his way to Letty.

"Happy Birthday Dom" Letty says not knowing what else to say. Dom smiles at her and gives her a hug and she kisses his cheek and he returns the kiss.

Mini walks over to Eva and gives her a ' no she didn't look' but Eva is dangerously quiet and studying the both of them. Coco and Lisa join Mini and Eva, and stand there looking at the 'happy reunion'. Lisa walks over to Jesse and smacks him behind his head.

"Ouch! What did you do that for?" He says rubbing his head.

"Duh! Jesse, did you ever even stop to think about how Eva would feel?" Lisa says with her hands on her hips. Jesse looks over to Eva and realizes he should've went about it another way. He walks over to Eva and begins to apologize but Eva stops him.

"Jesse you don't have to apologize to me, after all she is part of the team" Eva says looking over to Dom and Letty

"Well this is as comfortable as a papsmear" Eva says as she walks towards the both of them.

Mia sees Eva walking towards them and remembers the situation at hand, she also recalls both of their tempers.
She pokes Dom on his side so that Letty doesn't see and Dom turns around and sees Eva. He grabs Eva's hand in his and begins the introduction.

"Eva this Letty.........Letty this Eva.........my girl" Dom says holding on tight to Eva's hand. Both women stare each other down. The tension was so thick you could smell it.

"Nice to finally meet you" Eva tries to be the bigger person and extends her hand. Letty smiles, looks at Eva's hand and finnally extends hers and shakes it.

"Yeah, nice to meet you too......... Hey Dom can I talk to you for a sec." Just as fast she lets go of Eva's hand and walks towards the front of the house.
Eva turns around and looks at Dom with a furious face almost like she wanted to punch something or someone.

"Babe, listen to me, a lot has changed since me and Letty last saw each other, just let me talk to her OK?" Dom said hopping this wouldn't turn out uglyth hth his ex-girl and girl had just bumped heads on his birthday!

'Calm down Eva, relax, don't blow your top right now, not now' Eva repeats to herself triyng to stay calm.
"Fine, I'm not gonna be the one to ruin your birthday, but she could've just sent you a card" Eva said half joking, but serious.

"Thank you my love" he kisses her and walks after Letty. He knew it took a lot out of Eva not to sucker punch her right there and vise versa with Letty.

He finds Letty sitting on the front porch, smoking a cigarette waiting for him 'Since when does she smoke?' Dom thinks. He stands in front of her and waits for her to start the conversation.

"I see you've moved on with your life" she says taking a toke and looking at the ground.

"Yes I did Lett, ...............that is what you wanted me to do isn't it?" Dom knew they never really broke up but it had been almost a year and now he was with Eva.

"Yeah I did. I guess I wasn't ready to actually see it yet, you know?" Dom nods and realizes that she had been through a lot, besides if he saw her with another guy, it would definetly be weird too.

"It's good to see you Letty" Dom says still wondering why she had come back. Letty looks in his eyes and can see that whatever they had was over now.

"Dom I'm happy for you. I am" Dom could always tell when she was truthfull and she was.

"Thank you. So you back for good or vacation?" Dom says feeling better about the whole conversation.

"Well. I was gonna leave in a week or two, but I think I'll stick around for a while" Letty says with an evil grin, then continues." I was wondering if I could work at the garage until I go home?" Letty says already knowing the answer.

"Of course, you're still a part of this family, anything you need just let me know" Dom says partly because she was a good mechanic but mostly becuase he felt guilty of their past.

"Yeah you haven't changed a bit" she says throwing the cigarrette on the floor.

"Me?, How about you, what's up that outfit girl" Dom and Letty both begin to laugh as they walk back to the party.

"Yo Eva, here they come" Coco warns Eva as they all make sure they look unintersted in their return. Letty walks up to Eva and looks at Mia for a quick second and back to Eva. Mia knew what she was gonna do and at that moment felt proud of her friends.

"Ah, Eva........ The truth is, I don't know you. And I don't want to start this on bad terms. So why don't we start over" Letty extends her hand waiting for Eva's reaction. Eva looks towards Dom's direction and he gives her a smile.

"Sounds fair enough" Eva says knowing there were hidden motives to her. It was a matter of time before she's find out but Eva was game. Eva shakes Letty's hand as Mia walks over to them and introduces Letty to the rest of the girls.
Dom walks up to Eva and wraps his arm around her waist.

"I'm proud of you babe"

"Gee thanks, so what did she say?" the curiosity was killing her.

"We'll, talk about that later, right now I just want to enjoy the rest of my party with my family, friends and my beautiful woman, OK?" Dom was rocking her in his arms.

"Awww, fine, but you gonna get it later Mr. Toretto"

"Promise?" they were both flirting with each other and didn't care who noticed.

When the party finished the girls cleaned up and Letty was on her way. She said bye to everyone and Mia walked her out.
Everyone paired off and Dom and Eva went upstairs to watch a movie. They enter the room and Dom goes over turns the TV on and pops a DVD in. Eva sits on the edge of the bed. Any other day she would of taken her shoes off and laid on the bed, but not tonight. She was edgy and Dom could read her body language very well.

"You have nothing to worry about" he says as he reaches for the remote.

"What?" she say as she turns to look at him with a confused look.

"Letty. You don't have to worry about Letty" he said realizing he just interrupted her thoughts.

"Oh, I know, but you can't blame me for being edgy, tonight I felt really....." he finishes the sentence for her

"Weird?" they both were pretty good in predicting each other like that. She nods and lets out a sigh of relief.

"I'm sorry it went down the way it did. Letty has been in my family for a long time. I don't expect that to change, regardless if our relationship ended almost a year ago. She's close with my sister and friends. And she'll be working at the garage again, until she goes back home" he wasn't sure how Eva was gonna take the news.

"Is that what you guys were talking about on the porch?" Eva was clenching her hands together, nervous and anxious.

"We talked about that and the fact that I've moved on and so has she. She's happy that I'm happy. You guys are gonna get along once given the chance to know each other, you know you two are a lot alike" he says getting up and walking towards his dresser.

'That's what I'm afraid of, she may fool you, but she isn't fooling me' she thinks to herself.
