“I should kill you, Jack.”
Jack lifted her chin just enough to look at him, fighting the sting of tears. Riddick’s voice was quiet, almost sad. His eyes glimmered at her in the darkened room.
“But I can’t. Always had a weak spot for you. So I’m gonna let you live. Won’t let Faith kill you either, and you know she wants to. You’re going with the vampires. After that, I don’t care what you do. Go, help them fight the Necros, or have them drop you somewhere. Just know that you’re not to look for me. If I see you again, if Faith sees you again, I’ll let her kill you.”
Tears streaked down her face, searing her cheeks and her heart burned in her chest. It bled and it cried and she fell to her knees as Riddick left the room. All she’d wanted was him. The only person who’d ever cared about her, the only person she’d ever loved. That love had almost killed him, almost killed all of them. She watched him leave, watched him go to Faith, just outside the door. She saw the Slayer’s eyes flick to her face, just once and there was a promise there, that she would carry out Jack’s death sentence the second Riddick gave the word.
“Well, then, pet, what’s it to be? Do we drop you on the next rock, or are you coming with us?”
Spike was behind her and the challenge in his voice was clear. She got to her feet, slowly, her eyes lingering on Riddick and Faith’s retreating forms, before she turned to face him.
“Lets go kill some Necros.”

Faith closed her eyes, standing under the hot spray of the shower once again. Her own blood sluiced down the drain and her fingers played gently over the healing wound on her throat.
After disposing of Toombs’ body in the Slash and Burn’s incinerator, Angel and Spike had said their goodbyes and taken the merc ship off-planet. They took Aereon and Jack with them. Every instinct Faith had told her to kill Jack, but Riddick’s will was as strong as hers. She didn’t want to fight him, so she let the girl go. Riddick had sent her to the shower as he powered up the ship. She’d felt the floor shudder underneath her as he’d lifted off, a slight trembling as they burned through the atmosphere and then the ship smoothed out. They’d reached space.
She was expecting it when Riddick stepped into the shower stall. She welcomed the touch of his hands when they slid around her, turned her to face him. In silence she washed the blood from his skin, pressed her lips gently against the wound at his throat that mirrored hers. Raising her head and opening her eyes, she met his mercury gaze steadily.
“My blood to yours, your heart to mine. One soul and two bodies, together we are whole.”
Her voice was barely more than a whisper and she caught his hand, lacing her fingers through his until their palms and the matching puncture wounds were pressed tightly together. The blood flowed there still, sluggishly, mixing between their hands and he lowered his head to kiss her with a low growl.
“Mine.”
