Chapter 19: GET IN
******************************************************
SATURDAY MORNING~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eva wakes up and for a moment forgets about the night before. She had a nightmare about her brother. The setup for Dom's birthday party had worked well, but she wishes the part about her brother had been false, but he was indeed locked up and for attempted murder! She figures the only one who can give her any answers is his best friend, Mike.
She looks to her side and Dom is soundly asleep. She begins to trace his face with her finger, remembering the love they shared the night before.
"I love you Dominic" she whispers, he jumps up and grabs her.
"I know you do, I love you too girl" he begins to tickle her.
"Stop Dom, I thought you was asleep" Eva says in a fit of laughter.
"Well I'm up now, so what you wanna do?" he says mischievously.
"What did you have in mind?" she says raising an eyebrow. He pulls her by the chin and begins to kiss her, but are interrupted by a knock at the door.
"Who is it?" Dom says annoyed.
"Mia!" his sister calls out.
"Go away Mia, not now" he says and looks at Eva.
"It's not you that I need anyway, tell Eva we gotta go" Mia says yelling through the door. Eva looks at Dom with a 'Sorry' look and begins to get up.
"Were you going 'Mi Amor'?" Dom says with his best Spanish accent. His parents had done their best in teaching them the language but he hardly ever spoke it.
"I have to help Mia at the store today Dom, but I promise I'll make it up to you OK" she leans grabs his ears and kisses him, slow and long.
"You bet you will" he says smacking her ass as she walks to the shower, him close behind her.
After they get dressed Mia and Eva leave for the store and Dom goes to the shop. When Dom pulls in to the garage Dom looks over and sees Letty already hard at work.
AT THE STORE**************************************************************
Mia was stocking the shelves with potato chips and Eva was talking to her about the night before.
"Listen Eva I know how awkward you must of felt last night, but I told you about how close me and Letty are.............were" she corrects herself and looks away.
"It's cool girl, she's been around your family for ever. I just need to get adjusted to her that's all" not only did Letty make her feel threatened because of Dom but she was scared she was going to lose her best friend.
Eva tells Mia she's going outside for a brake and to get some fresh air and decides to call Mike. The phone rigns but the asnwering machine picks up.
*answering machine............"Yo this is Mike, leave me that message"............(beep)
"Mike, this is Eva, listen I really need to talk to you....uhm give me a call back or better yet swing by the races tonight. Mike it's important so please be there OK" she hangs up and becomes lost in her thoughts. Her phones rings, she looks at it and it's Dom.
"Hey baby" she has smile on her face and Dom can tell in her voice.
"Hi my love, I've been thinking about you all day" he says in that deep sexy tone.
"Have you really? Good thoughts I hope" she says playing with her hair. Everytime she spoke to him she couldn't help but to feel like a high school girl in love.
"Most are good, the rest are dirty, after last night I can't get you out of my head girl.....what do you say if we get together tonight just you and me"
"Uhm, Dom I had plans on going to the races tonight, but why don't you come with me and afterwards we can do whatever you want"
"OK, I'll meet you there then, I love you Eva"
"I love you too Dom, see ya later" she hangs up and goes back in the store.
THE RACES***************************************
"Hey girl!, you in the line up tonight or what?" Hector says leaning on Eva's window.
"Nah, just here to watch" she says as she gets out her car and leans on it looking around for any signs of the Team or Mike. Just as she is about to get back in her car she see Mike's Mazda MX-5 pull up next to her.
"Get in the car" he demands. Eva leans down to look at him and can tell something's off.
"What's the matter Mike?" he looks fidgety and is sweating. He looks at her with piercing eyes.
"If you ever wanna see your brother again.......get in the car!"
Eva's throat tightens at the threat and she swallows hard, something was telling her not to get in that car, but she gets in the passenger side and hasn't even closed the door when Mike screeches off. Hector notices the commotion and stares at the car until it's out of sight.
A half hour later The Team arrives at the races and Dom sees Eva's car and begins scanning the lot for her. He spots Hector and walks up to him giving him a hand shake.
"What's up Hector, Have you seened Eva?"
Hector hesistates and looks towards the direction that Mike and Eva had gone. He looks back towards Dom. The rest of the team already made their way to where Dom is standing and begin listening to the conversation.
"Damn man, you just missed her"
"What do you mean, where is she?"
"She was here for a couple of minutes than that dude showed up,...uhm....Mike I think it is, the one with the green MX-5, she got in the car and they left about a half hour ago" Hector knew that guy was gonna be trouble for Dom but he had to tell his boy about it.
"Eva left with Mike?" Dom couldn't believe it, a million thought were crossing his mind now and none of them were good. Could she possibly be cheating on him? Why would she leave her car? Why was her phone off?
"Who's Mike?" Letty asks looking back and forth at everyone.
"But something was wrong Dom, he looked paranoid, I think he was high. Eva didn't even want to get in the car but he was yelling something at her and then they were off, they went towards the South" Hector says pointing in the direction Mike and Eva had just dissapeared to a few minutes earlier.
"Who's Mike?" Letty asks again, still being ignored.
"Something's wrong, Eva would never get in Mikes car just like that" Mini says looking at Dom. Mia is already dialing Eva's cell phone but it doens't even ring, her voice mail picks up. Mia looks up at Dom and shakes her head.
"Can someone please fill me in" Letty was lost in the conversation
"Let's go" is all that comes out of Dom's mouth as he signals for the guys to follow him.
"Where are you going?" Mia yells to Dom who is still walking towards his car. He stops before he gets in the car, turns and looks at Mia
"I have to find her, she might be in trouble" he gets in and Vince, Leon and Jesse follow.
"Mia we have to go with them, you don't know Mike he's a fucking monster!" Lisa says as she walks towards her car.
Coco and Mini look at each other and speak volumes just with their eyes.
Mia notices and realizes there was much more to this story than they weren't telling her. Letty still had that confused look on her face.
"Come on I'll tell you about it on the way" Mia says to Letty as they drive off.
