on with the story
Days passed, they came and went with a breeze. Alexander followed one of his mother’s advices, to tie him up. He didn’t feel like fighting with Hephaistion the moment he woke up.
Tonight was the night that Hephaistion would enter his cycle. Olympias kept on reminding her son that he should impregnate Hephaistion. She said that it was, “the best way to keep your family together.” Alexander’s mind went numb as his mother kept on sharing her wisdom on the matter.
“Who told him,” Alexander interrupted her.
“What,” she didn’t catch Alexander’s question.
“Who told Hephaistion, how did he find out,” Alexander stated calmly.
“I do not know Alexander,” she said flatly.
“Someone told him, he wasn’t in our room when I came back from meeting up with you.”
“Do you suppose he listened in on our conversation?”
“That spot in the gardens, no one knows about it mother. Someone has been listening in, and that someone told Hephaistion.”
“Yet…we’ve had many of these meetings in the cover of the night. Whoever it was, he wanted to wait till after Teodor’s birth to tell Hephaistion.”
“Why?”
“I do not know Alexander, this one I must put my mind to it and ask for Dionysus’ guidance.”
“Sometimes I wonder if Dionysus is leading you in the right direction mother.”
Olympias ignored her son’s comment and looked up to the sky and saw the moon was in its highest peak.
“You should go now Alexander, fill him with a child.”
Alexander didn’t comply in any form; he just walked past his mother and towards his room.
When Alexander entered his room he was met with darkness. He lit a couple of oil lamps to brighten up the room and his gaze fell upon Hephaistion who lay static on the bed. He was fully clothed and when Alexander neared him, he saw drops of sweat across his face.
Hephaistion looked so calm, like he did before this mess happened. Before his mother came and ruined their happiness. Yet Alexander was torn between his mother’s advice and what to actually do!
Alexander grabbed a wet cloth and began wiping Hephaistion’s face with it carefully, like a lover would do. He then tossed the cloth aside and began to peel Hephaistion’s clothes off.
Hephaistion’s body had transformed like the night it had a year ago. Hephaistion had the womanly curves and all that was needed to conceive a child. It was all up to Alexander now.
DUN DUN DUN!! (DRAMATIC THEME MUSIC)
