Chapter 2
In the little smuggling town of El Caracol, it was not uncommon to see pirate ships crowding the little harbour; their sails torn from recent battles, flags flying high in the Caribbean breeze, their fat bellies sinking low into the water from their stolen swag. In fact, the founder of El Caracol himself had been a pirate, one by the name of Bleeding Rico, a Spanish bloke who, after all his glorious adventure, wanted nothing more than to settle into a quiet port town for the rest of his days. It became a smuggling town shortly after his death, when his old mates thought it would be a tribute to Bleeding Rico for his peaceful town to turn rascal. I showed up here long after that, when a bad storm knocked me off of my father’s merchant ship on a crossing from Jamaica at age eight. I’ve been trying to get out ever since, but because it’s a hidden town that only blackguards know how to get to, I’ve been out of luck. I make and sell strong leather pieces for the visitors, but if I ever get out of here I’m going to London to be a fine, upstanding lady. Sometimes I even trade my goods with pirates who might have picked up a ladies fashion in a raid, and I try to keep in touch with my old home in that way. Only once have I had a bad experience with a pirate; when I was eighteen I was captured by a horrid crew who held me for ransom until they realized I wasn’t worth anything to anyone. The captain of that ship was more horrible than I could possibly describe; exactly the sort that children’s nightmares are made of. That captain’s name was Judas Barbossa.
sorry, chapters will be a bit short for a while, but they get longer soon, and then you'll want them to end! please tell me if you think this is going to get mary sue-ish, its not going to be romance, so that helps...I think... Jack comes in next chapter!
