Will Confronts Elizabeth
Chapter2: Will Confronts Elizabeth
A/N: Will decides that his wife is keeping something from him and he has a right to know why she is behaving so strangely. Hope you enjoy the update!
The door to the guest bedroom flung open making Elizabeth jerk awake. Her hazel eyes met Will’s chocolate gaze immediately. He bent down and snatched Elizabeth’s ivory nightgown from where it lay in a crumpled pile on the floor. Elizabeth winced when Will lifted the nightgown up for her to see it. “Why are you naked Elizabeth?”
“M-my nightgown got wet.”
“From what?”
“The rain.”
“Why did you go outside Elizabeth?”
“Because I thought I heard something. So I went outside to see what it was.” Will nodded at her answer but continued to stare at her as if he knew that she was being dishonest. Elizabeth felt her cheeks redden as Will continued staring at her.
“Did you find anything outside Elizabeth?”
“Oh uh, no I didn’t.”
“Uh huh. So why didn’t you come back to bed?”
“Because I was restless and didn’t want to disturb you.” Elizabeth was suddenly feeling very sick to her stomach as Will continued to question her.
“I see. How very considerate of you darling.” She winced as her stomach churned intensely. “What kept you up last night Elizabeth?”
“Nothing really. I just couldn’t sleep. Why are you asking so many questions Will?”
“I’m just making conversation with my wife. I trust you Elizabeth and I know that you would never do anything to make me distrust you.” She frowned at Will’s remark wondering what he had meant by it. “Are you ready to get up darling?”
“Hand me my nightgown please Will.” He stared hard at Elizabeth as he handed her the nightgown. She took the nightgown from him quickly. Will noticed as Elizabeth cringed at his brief touch on her hand with his own hand. Elizabeth carefully put her nightgown back on shielding her nakedness from her husband’s eyes. Once dressed she got up and prepared to leave the room. Will stood in front of her and the door.
“Going somewhere Elizabeth?”
“I’m getting dressed.” She crept past Will and padded down the hallway to their bedroom. Will followed his wife to continue their discussion. When he grasped the doorknob to their room he found t wouldn’t turn. She had locked him out of their bedroom! Will pounded on the door loudly.
“Elizabeth!” She did not answer so he beat on the door harder. “Elizabeth Rebecca Turner! Open this door now!” Elizabeth pressed her back against the door and choked back a sob that was desperately trying to escape her throat. She couldn’t bear to deal with William right now. Elizabeth grabbed a black taffeta dress and laid it out on the bed. She then put on cor corset and undergarments. Elizabeth slipped into the black taffeta dress and then stepped into a pair of black shoes to match it. She left her hair down to flow freely. It was to signify her decision to leave Will and go to Jack. She took off the gold wedding band that Will had placed on her finger on the day of their wedding three months ago. Elizabeth opened the door to see that her husband was no longer waiting for her. She descended the stairs to find that Will was wng fng for her at the bottom of them.
