Chapter 2 - Chase and Questions

Title: The Siren
Author: Hellborne (the_ferret_mom@yahoo.com)
Age Rating: 18+

Disclaimer: Characters, if you saw them in the movie, not mine. See the Mouse. Story, mine, but I make no money. He does, but not on this.

Typing convention: / is used for thoughts. * - * - * is used for scene changes and passages of time.

Summary: Will has been abducted by The Siren, a beautiful pirate captain with a crew of women. It's Jack's job to get him back, and he seems scared about it. Many surprises.

Warnings: H/C, angst, lemon, rape, Het.

Betas: The two greatest BetaGoddesses in the world, Pendragginink and Littlebird! You're both truly magnificent, and I wouldn't be able to write half as well without you!

NOTE: We've been had here in Vegas. A couple took us for the rent money so we've been on the street for over a week waiting for my son's paycheck to get a new place. The ferrets are at the pound, though thankfully it's a "low-kill" shelter (only animals who are sick or dying get gassed, so ours are safe), so the only danger is that they'll be adopted out before we can get them all back. I've got Carlton out (my favorite), and he's at our storage unit (air conditioned). As I type this, it's Friday, May 7th, 2004, and I'm at the MGM Grand hotel waiting to get in to see a new TV program. Btw, if you ever have a chance to watch a new show called "Numb3rs," it's FANTASTIC!!! Anyway, I've been writing this and my other stories from the car, from casinos, the AdventureDome, etc., and I've found a plug in order to type them in over at Television City in the MGM. Hey, there's a great place if you're ever in town for cheap food. 3/4 pound hot dog for $1.49. It'll feed two easily. Four if you also get the giant strawberry shortcake also for $1.49. Believe me, these are fantastic! The dog is like 14" long and as wide as a dick! Talk about a sexy hot dog! Oh...the place to get them is called Westward Ho. It's on the strip next to Circus Circus. They also have 27oz margaritas for $0.99, and coffee for $0.05!!! It's 60's prices in 2004. Great place! So...now that you know what we've been going through since the 30th, maybe you'll hit the REVIEW button to make me feel better. Remember, I want your HONEST opinion of the story...good, bad or ugly, I love the reviews!

Chapter 2 - Chase & Questions

The Pearl sailed from Tortuga with Jack at the helm day and night. His temper became brittle as the time went by, and he ordered floggings for the most absurd reasons. One man was drinking some of his own rations when Jack bumped into him, looked at what he was doing, and ordered "ten lashes for bein' drunk on duty!" Gibbs, of course, ignored all such nonsense. This time, the man in question had gotten off duty at least two hours before. He knew that Jack was exhausted and worried about Will. Jack didn't even notice that his orders were not being followed.

On the second night, Anamaria cautiously approached the helm. Jack seemed to be in a trance. When she started to slap him to get his attention, he caught her hand, kissed it, and said, "we'll get him back, love. No worries, eh?" Tears streamed down his face.

Anamaria touched her hand to his cheek. /He's not himself. This has really affected him hard./ "You're right Jack. He'll be fine. I'm so worried about him; may I steer?"

"A 'course, love. I'll just stay right here in case you need me."

Anamaria wanted to smack him, but instead shook her head. "I'll be fine, Jack. And Gibbs is right over there to take over if I can't do it, all right? You just go in and get some sleep."

"All right, love. Thank you for lovin' Will so much. He needs a lot of love till he can get back to his bonnie Elizabeth."

Anamaria watched Jack walk dejectedly to his cabin.

"Father!" Will moved forward quickly to hug his dad, but his handler tugged on the chain, stopping him. The Siren nodded to her, and she moved forward so that they could hug each other. After a couple of minutes of both of them babbling about how much they missed each other, the Siren signaled for them to separate, and Bill stepped back three paces and bowed his head. Will's handler tugged lightly on his leash. /I'll learn more if I'm agreeable...then I can escape. With my father, I hope!/ Will backed up and waited.

The Siren grinned. Will noticed that even the grin was like Jack's, but she still had all of her teeth. "Well, Will. This may go easier than I anticipated. Now, what other questions do you have?"

"You look like you're related to Jack."

"Yes, actually. Jack is my baby brother. He's a little under an hour younger than I am."

"I thought you were younger than Jack by several years by your looks."

"Is that compared to how old he LOOKS or how old you know him to be?" She peered at him closely.

"Both, actually."

"Liar!" A whip cracked behind him, grazing him lightly on the back.

He yelped. "No! You DO look younger! Admittedly the white hair had me confused for a moment, but it's obvious that your hair is not white from age! You're beautiful! I've never seen anyone like you before, but you look MUCH younger than the forty-three that I know you to be, and certainly younger than the thirty that Jack appears to be."

She smiled. "All right then. Any more questions?"

"What will happen when Jack catches up to you?"

"Oh, we'll have a little talk, and if you behave between now and then, I'll let you return to the Pearl...if you still want to."

"And my father?"

"Lad, your father could have left here at any time after I found out about the curse. He chose to stay with me. And once the curse was lifted, we've had even more to do together. Now, one more question, young Turner."

"Why is your coloring so different from Jack's?"

"Ah. Well, Jack is dark because we are half Cherokee. I am light because I have no color. That is also why I am so heavily clothed in his hideous humidity, and why I generally allow my first mate to take charge during the day, while I take the helm at night. I have much worse day vision than she does. But do not think me weak in any way. This ship travels mostly at night, and I am superior to Jack in every way." She inclined her head to Will's handler. "Take him to my cabin." She turned to Bill. "Bill, you are relieved from duty till tomorrow. Go to my cabin and get reacquainted with your son. You have my permission to speak to each other till morning."

"Land ho!"

Jack sat up, instantly awake. He jumped out of bed and ran out of the cabin, taking the steps two at a time in his rush to get to the helm. As soon as he got to the bridge, he grabbed his spyglass and started scanning the horizon. After close to half an hour of searching, he pointed and called out, White Rose ho!"

Anamaria spun the wheel to compensate and the Pearl moved majestically toward the other ship. "Jack, how did ye know the Siren's ship would be here?"

"Very simple, luv. She ships out of Charles Town. Always has. The problem never WAS finding her. The problem will be getting William back."

"She'll not yield if properly motivated?"

"Oh, aye, she will. I'm sure she just wants to talk to me. The problem is whether or not the whelp will WANT to leave her."
